  • in evenston if ur cought with less than 10 gs of weed its a ticket!!!!!!!

  • Youtube:the union,the business behind getting high.

  • I'm going to get on youtube and use my "big people words". Of why weed is bad. That'll show everybody how smart I am.

  • Nice video Rick.

  • ... who said that the government is their for our happiness and health?Specially the American government. If Cannabis flower oil,a.k.a. hemp oil,a.k.a. hash oil would be administered for anti tumor purposes literally millions would have a sleepy but good time & be really cured from their tumor. Now people puke for hours so hard, they can feel it in their toes.Millions suffered beyond compare, while the anti cancer properties of Cannabis are scientific facts.Cannabis is remarkable none toxic too.

  • USA get stuffed... none of your business .. FREEDOM & HUMAN RIGHTS..

grow pot like tomatoes ,, FREE.. no laws no taxes.. no bullshit PROHIBITION..

stick your officious noses up your asses..abusive cops , gun toting morons & thugs.. prisons.. you're so full of shit USA... GO stick your controls & morals where it fits.

TOMATO MODEL ... is the way to go..

  • i love rick steves, man

  • ill bet 99.9% of kids tried ciggarettes before anything and thats a drug but no one ever says anything about that

  • Set an age limit like 21 and call it a day!

  • lighterofdewbies is an idiot. why? becuase not all drugs should be legal. marijuana should be legal (:

  • @reporterxsounds All should be, they are going to do the drugs anyway except instead of buying it from a drug dealer it just helps build our economy back up. You see my logic?

  • I agree drugs should be legal, but not so sure about the government-provided syringes deal.

  • I just lost my job due to a random drug screen .. i had smoked " 1 " joint almost 2 weekends prior ... you don't have to tell me we live in a backwards ass country. It's reinforced in me everyday as I go out to look for another job.

  • Weed legal means better economy, major reduction in the percentage of people who are depressed, the crumbling of the facist machine known as corporate control and influence on government decisions and it would make millions hell maybe billions of people live at peace with one another. The real reason it isn't legal is because of the unthinkable greed these corporate slave traders bare comfortably in their souls. They don't care how many have to suffer so long as they get to keep their money. Wh

  • ...and I forgot to mention that it was in Santa Rosa California and that CPS is the Government's enforcement squad who steals children for kickback money everyday in every state. Parents have NO RIGHTS.

  • America's ruling class wants to use whatever they can to imprison and enslave us all. EVERY EXCUSE. With the help of the Medical Community, and Public Education Boards, and don't even think about messaging me back to say it isn't true I have experienced it first hand when the Santa Rosa School system abused my son, labeled him, ruined his self esteem and then sent the police to my door to protect their own hides from a possible lawsuit that was the LAST thing on my mind to do.

  • Yay Rick Steves! :D

  • Some good info here. Worth considering.

  • alchohol is way more dangrous than weed and cigarets are way way waaaaay more addictive

  • @bornacriminal you're totally right.. you can walk into any coffeeshop in Holland at any time of day with it being packed full of stoners and you will never get into a fight with anyone of them.. try that at your local bar and you probably get punched by the first person you walk into accidentally.

  • The Institute of Medicine states,"Marijuana doesn't appear to be a gateway drug to the extent that it is the cause, or even...the most significant predictor of serious drug abuse; that is, care must be taken not to attribute cause to association."

  • really, 6 dislikes? how does this guy come across as dislikeable?...oh well, people gonna be people

  • Comment removed

  • A FUCKING MEN

  • I'm so happy people are combating nonsensical drug laws in a sophisticated manner. I believe the reason why there is still a reluctance against legalizing marijuana amongst American citizens is because of the stereotypical marijuana user who can't gather their thoughts because they decided to smoke before explaining why the laws are absurd.

  • pot isnt a gateway drug, by that logic, every alcoholic in the world started on milk or juice, so why isnt that illegal?

  • Painkillers (AKA POT) that people can grow in their backyards significantly affects the bottom line of drug companies who own politicians.

Not to mention the millions worldwide employed in the frivolous war on drugs.

  • Sensible Marijuana Laws would be to stop punishing people for what they do to themselves. And Legalize with Regulation of Marijuana.

  • Just as a reflexion, we say to our little kids to be responsabile in life and we need other people say what to do whit our own body and life, that its very dificult to understand by a kid, free cannabis and all plants whitout treatment, its only nature, and, alcool is legal but i dont go drunk every day, every one know how to do better.

Please mr politicians, use our money to more important things, thanks and sorry about my english.

  • The first time I smoked pot was in middle school & later on I went to harder drugs. Yes I think pot is a gateway drug but mostly b/c anytime a kid moves on from pot to something harder its almost always the pot dealer that either could get the harder stuff or introduced them to someone who could. I dont even like smoking pot anymore but almost always knew where to get pot. Without pot dealers it will be that much harder to find the hard drugs

  • @mikedd56

If pot is a gateway drug to harder drugs then beer is a gateway drink to spirits. Of course that's bullshit and everyone probably knows it.

If you actually look at statistics there's more of a relation between alcohol consumption and hard drugs than cannabis has with them.

Also, if drugs were legalized then those dealers wouldn't exist and people could prevent under-age use a lot more effectively than they can now (or can't as the case may be).

    Think about it.

  • @ihaterobbie123

    Nonsense.

Islamic law forbids alcohol, yet Islamic countries produce opium poppies for heroine.

    Hitler hated alcohol.

    Churchill was nourished by alcohol.

    Cheers!

  • @SirWinstonChurchill You can't look at these relations internationally, you have to choose one population. Your example falls flat on it's face when you chose a scenario in which alcohol is absent, thereby eliminating the chance of any comparative measurements being possible.

With regards to countries where these drugs are available my statement is true.

    Hitler was healthier than Churchill.

    Cheers!

  • @ihaterobbie123

    Hitler was healthier than Churchill?

    Who lived longer?

  • @SirWinstonChurchill Stop being childish, your argument is invalid, the end.

  • If someone is old enough at 18 for you to send them off to die for you in a war, they are old enough to smoke a fucking joint and have a glass of whiskey if they want to.

  • @SirWinstonChurchill and those people actually deserve to have that benefit!

  • @drunkalfuzzyness

This idea that someone is old enough to vote and old enough to die in a war, but not old enough to drink liquor or smoke pot is asinine.

Taxing marijuana to bail out the idiots who screwed the California state budget to begin with is rank hypocrisy.

It is about time these fossils from the 1960s like Jerry Brown fade off into the sunset. Yet stupid people keep electing them despite their demonstrated failures that have put the state where it is today. Go figure...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill Very very well said

  • More people keep smoking weed per year i mean there r even kids in middle school tht smoke weed and get it easy in my school there r 6th and 7th graders and 8th smoking weed nd me. :D Just legalize weed already hes right

  • I wish I lived in Europe, I live in Airstrip One.

  • @ihaterobbie123 Yes, but non in Italy, here if they catch you whit more than 1 gr of Cannabis Sativa Sativa they put you in JAIL and you must pay like 26,000 euros, so be carefull and go to Holland or Spain better and the Chec Republic also, take care and have a great day!!!

  • Do they really think taxing marijuana will not get the attention of the IRS?

Sodom Hussein Obama just hired an army of IRS agents for this reason.

Your identification will be scanned whenever this is purchased and all that information will find it's way to auto insurance companies, worker's compensation liability insurance companies and government agencies.

These people keep feeding the IRS monster.

Ask yourself who was busting the alcohol bootleggers... Revenue agents...

    TEA PARTY TIME!

  • In Netherlands at least few years ago it was prohibited to drink alcohol on the street, but you could smoke a joint. So if the police saw you with a can of beer they asked you to pour it to the ground, if they saw you smoking a joint they wouldnt say anything.

And that makes sense if you think witch one is more disruptive drug, alcohol or marijuana.

  • @ari1234a

So what is the difference between smoking opium and smoking marijuana?

I think it is stupid to and is none of the government's fucking business what you drink or smoke in public or private...

  • It's Time for Sensible Marijuana Laws ?

That is like saying it is time for a sensible police state...

It is time for no marijuana laws at all...

  • Taboo begets Deviance...

  • Did you know that 99% of meth amphettamine users started on Caffiene?

Marijuana as a Gateway drug, lol what a stupid theory

  • @newtonmeters or from milk to booze. look up "FBI director gets schooled on marijuana legalization" i really hope cali legalizes it!

  • @newtonmeters a high percent of drug users went to church when they were kids. I say church is a gateway drug.

  • DAMN RIGHT

  • Smart guy

  • This guy is basicly the best politician on the planet.

Ive never realy cared for politics or anything to do with the government, but what i have been interested in is going to amsterdam when im old enough to get high legaly.

If this guy can change the law on marijuana in america i would rather go to america instead of amsterdam.

The outcome for america is ALOT more money and lower crime rates, what more could you possibly want?

  • This guy is a genius!!

  • i always lol when someone calls any drug a gateway drug, if your a logical or reasonable person you can weigh the goods&bads of the drug and think that its no big deal, or maybe i shouldnt do this. if someone wants to get higher they usually just up the doseage.

  • Laws against Cannabis are laws against the prospect of a clean and peaceful world without pollution, poverty, hunger, painful illness, some cancer and deforestation to name a few! My conclusion from the research I've done is that the laws against Cannabis are in fact LAWS AGAINST HUMANITY!!!

  • @tompants2010 You are so on the money!

  • I will argue that PUSSY is a gate way drug.

Most of my problems started with women in my life...

  • @Boostnitup

Im glad Im gay then :D

  • @kwajalein321 You are brain damaged to make a life choice such as yours... serious; please get yourself some professional mental health. You are not normal, and your life choice is NOT normal no matter how hard the AP (Associated progressives) attempt to tout it to be.

  • @Boostnitup

loooool Its not a choice dude. :P Back in middle school I started seeing no interest in girls and an intrest in guys. Id actually rather be straight. Its easier.

  • the only way weed is a gateway drug is when u go get it from the ghetto street dealer and theyre all out and they offer u something else.. or something along those lines everyone should know what i mean

  • antimicrobial

    antispasmodic

    anti inflammatory

and helps u sleep best thing for tooth ache

    thats everything that weed is

  • marijuana is a gateway drug, why would people say it isint?

  • @morroida9966 Ignoramuses say that cannabis is a gateway drug.

  • @morroida9966 you are pretty ignorant, do some research before you say stuff like that.

  • @liberty1913dreams give me facts

  • @morroida9966 Marijuana does not cause people to use hard drugs.People who have used less popular drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and LSD, are likely to have also used marijuana. Most marijuana users never use any other illegal drug. Indeed, for the large majority of people, marijuana is a terminus rather than a gateway drug.

  • @liberty1913dreams people that smoke heavy stuff, started with marijuana, how is that not a gate way drug? im not a junkie, but i know many people that start off on drugs at the same time as me, and now we do much worse than marijuana, okay, they do, i choose not to do cocaine

  • @morroida9966 The whole 'gateway' drug idea is bogus anyway. The people who end up doing harder drugs would be doing the harder drugs anyway if weed didn't exist. Of course most of the harder drug users tried weed first, that makes perfect sense. They were people who were going to try drugs anyway and weed was the easiest and most accessible drug around. I'd bet that most of them tried alcohol before weed, does that make alcohol a 'gateway' drug?

  • @duboisiboy i dont know, i guess if you are strong you dont get afected, but if you are weak and tried marijuana, you easly try something else, yes, alcohol is also a gateway drug to me

  • @morroida9966 'strong' and 'weak' worry me a little. I think it has more to do with your particular brain chemistry as to wether you like pot or not. It suits some people very well, just as being a gym junkie or or locking yourself away in academia suits other people well (just 2 examples of people controlling their own mental state) . It doesn't in any way make the pot user better or worse, stronger or weaker than a non pot user. We are all differ in so very many ways, pot is just one of them.

  • @duboisiboy i see your point, but i bet that some one who never smoked marijuana, would start to do crack

  • @duboisiboy took the words right out of my mouth!

  • @tompants2010 the whole gateway part i mean lol.

  • @duboisiboy it is bogus .... i guess we can all look at alcoholics and say they started with milk ... then moved on to koolaid... then it was down hill from there.... gimmie a break!

  • @wendyspwnsu No it isn't. Milk and Kool-aid aren't psychoactive, addictive chemicals. Tobacco and Alcohol are. Don't be a moron!

  • @arcsouljah im was being sarcastic.... the weed "gateway drug" theory is is a fuckin joke.... i believe you are the moron if you couldnt detect the sarcasm... I was laying it on pretty thick...

  • @wendyspwnsu

haha, i've ust read these comments. as sarcastic as you think you were being (and yes i could detect it) it's a shame that some people ACTUALLY are that thick! so it's no surprise that if you have been dealing with people who are so ignorant they actually believe it, sometimes it's hard to see the difference between sarcasm and actual comments.

  • @duboisiboy

it's been laughed at - even officially on wikipeadia

  • @duboisiboy I'm Dutch and ive been smoking weed on and off since i was 15-16 years old and i'm now 28. Not once did i try any other drugs beside weed/hash even though ive had plenty of opportunities to use pills, mushrooms, coke and all kinds of other crap. Gateway drugs is BS! its a choice you make yourself and my choice was to never use anything else. Like you said, if anybody is doing hard drugs they would have done it with or without the weed because they already made their choice..

  • @duboisiboy I believe Alcohol AND tobacco are more "gateway" than Marijuana.

  • @morroida9966 Saying people will use hard drugs because they smoke Marijuana is the same thing as saying if you use alcohol you are gonna use hard drugs next. It just is not so.

  • @morroida9966 The reason people say it isn't a gateway drug is because there is no actual cause an effect for it. Is there a high CORRELATION between people people smoking pot and people smoking other drugs? You can have one without the other. I know plenty of people that smoke pot that would never touch hardcore drugs. You demand proof from people that disagree with you, but give none of your own. Show me one legitimate (AND recent) med article that states that marijuana is a gateway drug.

  • Makes an intelligent argument.

The Government's job is to get out of peoples way!

  • only if the leaders of our country thought the way you do then we might get out of our economic depression we are in...alcohol kills hundreds of thousands of people each year...marijuana kills NONE!!!...make marijuana legal post an age requirement and tax it to help build our economy or put the money into our kids schools!!!just stop waisting the money on imprisonment and utilize it to better the U.S...

  • Everyone just start putting seeds wherever you can. We've been playing this game to nicely for years. Something's got to be done. Lives are being ruined every hour of the day to stupid pot laws.

  • the usa is plain retarted

  • That is so true, there is so much more crime BECAUSE weed is illegal but if it was legal, fuckin so much less crime would happen. I am 100% sure if anyone was smoking and driving just like somebody would drink and drive, you'd probably be safer smoking weed and driving because you'd probably be going UNDER the speed limit and not even fucking knowing it, but when you're drunk, you'll probably go fast, run lights and shit and cause a violent crash putting others in danger

  • I like this guy.

  • Its funny how everyone ignores all the sick and dying from tobacco and alcohol, yet they say marijuana is still the worst, fucking lies.

  • @420chronmasta A friend of mine's mom said to him "I don't care if you drink alcohol." she also said, "It'd break my heart if you smoked pot."

That kind of thinking is far to popular with many people.

  • @420chronmasta

I think smoking opium is better than marijuana...

So, are you going to come after me with your fascist thugs because I like a different drug?

  • @SirWinstonChurchill no1 is going to come after you, but how about you learn the long term effects of both of them before you start comparing it like that

  • @sarsour1989

I want no laws on marijuana at all...

I want no taxes on marijuana...

I want public officials jailed for invading your privacy.

Now, tell me why the hell is it any of the government's business if you have a doobie in your pocket or a plant in your garden?

  • @SirWinstonChurchill its not any of their business,

i want my freedom with weed as well, but when you start naming things like opium, you cant really expect them to comprehend the idea that you want to legalize a list of drugs just like that...

  • @sarsour1989

Opium poppies aren't any more or less a problem than marijuana.

It is none of the government's business. They are both fruits of the earth that no man can claim ownership to. I think anything unprocessed in it's natural state is free for anyone to grow and harvest.

It is like the old idea of not being able to hunt in the king's forest or having to share your crop with the baron. I'm bigger and more ferocious than either of them, and you don't want me as king.

  • @SirWinstonChurchill yep lets ban the poppie.. that would certainly fuck off a lot of people who leave them for memorial purposes. Its a plant, neither should be banned.. like you said a fruit of the earth to be enjoyed by everyone.

  • @drunkalfuzzyness

You should be able to grow marijuana like you do a tomato in your garden or grow opium poppies in your front yard flower bed.

It is none of the government's business to tax, regulate or control the natural gifts of the earth.

  • @SirWinstonChurchill Nicley said.. to all your comments haha.

  • @SirWinstonChurchill That is very true. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Though it should be our right to cultivate and consume an organic plant as we please, we must bare in mind if we don't at least offer the government the opportunity of profiteering, then there will be no chance in heaven or hell they will legalise it. We don't live in an ideal world.

  • I want my twice as much marijuana to smoke!

  • Good to hear Rick Steeves talk about sensible policies.

  • It's Time for Sensible Marijuana Laws?

    -

How about NO marijuana laws at all?

    -

Only a jerk off stoner could believe taxing anything will make it "free."

  • @SirWinstonChurchill I'd rather have it legal and taxed than illegal- right now, I can be arrested and thrown in jail for smoking a medically and intellectually beneficial herb.

This is about liberty and freedom more than taxes- for me at least.

  • @tristramshandy3

I want freedom to choose and you don't believe in that because you are sucking off the government teat...

Taxes are not compatible with freedom, especially at $50.00 per ounce...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill Do you have the freedom to choose alcohol right now? If not, explain why. If yes, then shut the fuck up!

    Have a great day :)

  • @tristramshandy3

I'm drinking straight Bourbon over ice at the moment... You are a dumb ass...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill Great! I'm glad you choose a dangerous, inferior drug to use. Me, I'll stick with marijuana.

    I'm smoking a bong right now :)

Here is your argument- taxation is inherently opposed to the freedom to choose. Yet, you have the freedom to choose alcohol, a taxed and regulated drug.

Explain why it would be different for marijuana.

Why would taxing and regulating this medicinal, awesome herb restrict my freedom to choose?

By the way, Friedman sucks :)

    Viva Montaigne!

  • @tristramshandy3

I don't want taxes and regulation... Taxing marijuana at $50.00 per ounce is robbery... Taxing a $80.00 bottle of liquor at $20.00 is robbery...

But like I said earlier, you should be able to grow marijuana just like a tomato in your garden without some useless government asshole sniffing around the house... The same is true of opium and tobacco...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill OK- you don't want taxes and regulation- fine. Move to a deserted island and have fun.

The rest of us live in society. We pay taxes to get services from govt- things like roads, missles..all the things we love.

Also, the govt is like the guy left at the table after ten people had dinner- stuck with the check. Things like alcohol, tobacco and pot are taxed heavily because they cost a lot to society- in police work for helping abused wives after drunken idiots etc prison etc

  • @tristramshandy3

I have a better idea, how about if I keep telling the truth about the Trojan Horse this initiative is and vote no along with the thousands of people I have influenced in previous election?

  • @SirWinstonChurchill I have been watching the polls- your massive influence doesn't seem to be working. Prop 19 has majority support.

MOST rational beings understand prohibition of marijuana has been an utter disaster.

And frankly, your "no govt, no taxes, no regulation" tea bagger approach to the world is childish and naive.

Grow up and help the rest of us make this country better,

    '

    Adios.

  • @tristramshandy3

Your government cocksucker approach to the country has destroyed to the economy... The political landscape is about to change...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill I don't have a "government cocksucker approach to the country". I want pot legalized, taxed, and regulated for the following reasons: to increase the freedom and liberty of the citizens of this country, to cut the flow of cash to the drug cartels and inner city gangs, to decrease our world's highest prison population, and instead of spending money fighting this beneficial herb, we could turn it into a profit generating crop.

Have a nice day right wing xenophobe.

  • @tristramshandy3

You are a fascist control freak who sucks the teat of the nanny state...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill you're fun to talk to. I have a question that you will not answer; you will call me names, and I will not respond.

Here is the question: If I am a fascist control freak who sucks the teat of the nanny state because I want marijuana taxed and regulated, aren't you also guilty of being a fascist control freak for supporting taxation and regulation when you purchase alcohol?

    How is it any different?

    Have you studied alcohol prohibition?

    La-de-da smellypants :)

  • @tristramshandy3

I want taxes and regulation removed from alcohol... Some states control liquor sales where liquor is only available at special state granted monopolies and liquor is not available at your grocer... I should be able to sell liquor 24/7 to anyone over 18... The 21 drinking age is also bullshit... You can go fight and risk your life and the nanny state says you cannot drink?

  • @SirWinstonChurchill and I want everyone to read Shakespeare and Montaigne- unfortunately, we do not live in utopia, we live in a SOCIETY.

If you are serious about getting away from the tyranny of taxes and regulation, I suggest you find a nice cave somewhere far north up in Canada to live in.

Until then- welcome to society, where taxes pay for services and regulations protect consumers from malfeasance.

    Adios amigo.

Also, you forgot to call me a fascist and a cocksucker.

    I am disappointed :)

  • @tristramshandy3

I forgot to call you a fascist and a cocksucker? I don't need to tell people what they already know...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill are you still living with us here in society being enslaved by taxes and regulation? I don't get it man, why don't you leave???

Are you so cowardly as to prefer enslavement to freedom?

Why must you sit and suck at the nanny state's teat?

    You're such a loser :)

  • @tristramshandy3

Wow that was a great argument...well not entirely, but i love your point of view. Well stated sir.

  • @tristramshandy3

Alcohol has saved millions of lives... If it wasn't for a certain alcoholic in WWII, you'd be in a concentration camp or you might not have ever existed at all...

  • @SirWinstonChurchill yeah, I saw you post that nonsense somewhere else in this thread and had a good laugh.

  • If it wasn't for alcoholics like Churchill, you would be wearing a Waffen SS uniform...

    Alcohol is good...

  • If a state like Arizona can't enforce federal immigration laws, how can a state like California repeal federal drug laws???

Eurabia is a model we should follow? EPIC FAIL...

  • fascinating

  • let us not punish ppl for the drugs they use.....punish them for their actions. almost all serial killers never used any drugs at all. most crime when it comes to drugs isnt commited by the users....its commited by the sellers and gangs. legalize it and watch the crime rate drop.

  • That guy is so smart!

    Love him!

  • if the goverment made weed ligal less people will drink (LESS PEOPLE WILL DIE)

its so clear THINK ABOUT IT

  • Rick dropping common sense bombs all over US drug policy.

  • Thanks for all the hard work you're doing Rick.

  • Finally Common Sense and Logic. Thank you Rick Steves!

  • lol theyre laughing at the US. im glad though, because we need to change. he talked about the amoung of people being incarcerated in the U.S. but he didnt touch on how many people were in prisons because of marijuana. i think its marijuana beats murder, rape, assult and stealing combined.

  • The people want it legalized! Do it already

  • kind of like all the schools teaching "abstinence only". teenagers are gonna have sex, telling them not to isn't going to change a thing, but if you teach em how to use condoms they might not all catch aids, or gonorrhea, or syphilis, or hpv, or crabs, or herpes, or...you get the picture!

  • @thebeetalls I agree regarding teenaged sex, and would like to add: why not have some PARENTING classes available in high school? Educate people about the various organizations available to help new parents, educate people about how to begin the process of teaching their children to be responsible and make smart decisions. Educate people on how to be good aunts, uncles etc, while letting the parents be the parents. Let people ask questions and have honest discussions!

  • this man has an excellent point, instead of wasting tax payer dollars on incarceration of marijuana users, legalize it, tax it, take the money from the taxes and shove it into the education system and we wouldn't have a problem.

  • @TheTigah127 I agree regarding the tax dollars wasted on prohibition and would like to also suggest that education would include not just education about drugs, but about issues like how we as a society scapegoat drugs and emotions as the "cause" of our behaviors, and how personal responsibility is more effective than finger-pointing and tattle-taling. I guess politicians wouldn't like that. ;)

  • Dear Rick Steves,

    Namaste.

    Thank you for your sensibility.

  • legalizing it would put so many criminal justice professionals out of a job, as well as destroy the healthy profit drug dealers earn. This is just wrong. Putting these honest hard working Americans in the poor house. Keep Cannabis profitable, keep it illegal !!!

  • ''Everything is poison, It just depends on the porsion''

  • @kawazzss apparently the overdose level on cannabis is so huge that you'd literally have to have a big bale of marijuana fall on top of you from a great height in order to die from it ;)

  • @mycelian Hah! I heard that on a video too, and thats right...

Or else, you'd need to smoke 400 joints in 20 minutes to die from it...

  • @kawazzss also your not actually dieing from the marijuana your dieing from asphyxiation even if they were joints of lets say basil you would die because your lungs wouldnt be able to tolerate it. plus if you did it with bud you would prolly fall asleep before your got to that point lol

  • @jcconover Even a tender dead you'd have..

  • I wish we could get guys like Rick Steves, like the sensible hemp farmers in Canada, and other conservative looking folks with very eloquent messages to do a 1 hour special on TV. There are millions of young folks who already know all these excellent points. Things won't change until we get the conservative, mostly older, non-users to see the light of day. Those people will listen to this guy before they listen to Snoop, Woody, or Willie. Even though they are all saying the same message.

  • @Capocrypha That's precisely why drug wars fail. We don't have special agendas, or corporations lining our pockets. We're real. We just wanna burn one, chill out, and watch a movie with some buddies.

    Fucking bastards.

  • this guy is great! Thank you.

  • Hit the nail on the head.

  • We first need to learn to control ourselves, we all have attractive problems that need to be dealt with every day, food, sleep, money, sex, physical and mental health, dealing with people, having control over drugs needs a strong mature mindset, You cant proove you can unless you really do, talking out of your ass will do much more damages than make you learn anything. I wish I could just shut up and learn by watching how people do. So I'm planning to get rid of the Tv and go see the real world

  • @mountainstandardtime pot only increases rick of COPD in tabacco smokers(this may not even be true)maybe we should criminalize tabacco?

  • @mountainstandardtime right and wrong is subjective, does keeping marjiuana illegal keep people from using it?prohibiton is whats illogical XP

  • He has everything right too bad no one in power has the balls to do anything about it. Plus now that alot of the prisons are corperate owned, they are lobbying to make more stricter laws to keep more people incarsurated longer so they can make more money. It is truely a shame that corperate America makes all the rules. It's not smoking pot that they are againest but hemp which would cut into alot of companys profits if legalized.

  • This man is pure genius!

  • THANK YOU!

  • Drug abuse is one of the most serious problems in the world! Peoples lives are totally destroyed and lives cut short! Rick Steves is lunatic. Do not listen to this fool.

He is a liberial, socialist who would like nothing more than to see the demise of the west. Do not buy his books and shut this bastard down if he tries to make speeches in your community.

  • I agree, but i don't see much of a problem with marijuana, to me its no worse than alcohol. In fact legalizing marijuana would free up resources to fight harder drug trafficing and drug use. I agree Meth, heroin and Cocaine should not be tolerated from any society. Its just bad news.

  • @mountainstandardtime I believe your point of view is a bit extreme as Rick Steves views may be viewed by many. But its ok, we can agree to disagree on this one. Peace!

  • @mountainstandardtime Are you mad? Did you even listen to him? He never said that drugs were good, you redneck, or are you afraid that drug legalization is going to take your FREEDOM away? lol

  • @mountainstandardtime What "residue?". Please validate your points instead of just spewing slanderous false information.

  • This guy should be leading the way in California on the upcoming election to legalize marijuana. They should have him do infomericals on this subject all the way to the elections. I'm sure it will pass.

  • There it is:

"Everyone needs a drug policy! It can either be incarceration or harm prevention!!"

Legalize. Regulate. Tax. Save money and lives!
