i didnt learn anything from this. all i want is a simple tutorial on how to create an auto tuned effect in reason 4 so i can record my voice in autotune for my project in my music and media class, about auto-tuners. oh well i guess ill just have to slap some filthy dubstep in there instead.....
yo i did exactly what you said to do and i can see the meter reading on the vocoder but i still dont get any sound back out of it what im i doing wrong?
Respect homie! I got it now! Thats awesome. And By the Way the Video was fine. just because we are audio people doesn't mean we need to have all the visual stuff =p! Good job man!
and you even said in the video that the loop wont play it you play it by itself cuz its hooked up to the vocoder but then immediatley after it does play. very confusing
lol i tried this, but when i played the malstrom to trigger the modulation on the recorded track its not really audible or clear like yours... :( did you keep the malstrom on initial patch for the end part of your video? howd you get that voice effect? i really wanna be able to do this and i watched your video like 100 times to try and figure it out but i think your video editing cut alot out
Great video...can you hook up the vocoder to Dr. Rex?
I had a vocal I cut up in Recycle through it in Dr. Rex..the opened the Malstrom..like in the video...tried to run the modulator out to vocoder in and it wouldn't do it.....anyone know why?
Hi there, I recently got a keystation 61es keyboard and hooked it up to reason. I have recorded a track on the sampler and a track on the redrum. The only problem is when I play back the track the volume on the sampler goes way down and the redrum stays the same. I had a different computer and I never had a problem with this before. Any ideas why this is happening?
"I remember being in the studio with Diliio when he was talking about doing that Crunk Formula Album. WoW That was like in 05 if im not mistaken. Up at Vision Studio's in ATL.. Now He The Man 4 real. Peace Delio... NOMAD N3innovations... Shawty U Can Ride!!> DOPE"
I agree I use both as well. FL is user friendly you can just jump in and do anything you want. Reason is low latency use very little processors, It has more sounds and seems easier to make an industry beat. But at times can get frustrating for beginners. I use both for different projects and styles. I mainly use FL for most of my drums and sample based music. The MPC1000 is a beast as well but without all the FXs.
This would be a good tutorial, if, and only IF, you stopped trying to push your music on me. I just wanted to figure out how to use the vocoder. Instead I was assaulted. Nice job. Hang yourself.
Perhaps you should hang yourself. The man was just trying to teach you some shit. Sure he may have pushed his music a little but ya know what? Thats brilliant. I didnt know who he was until I watched the video and now I do
theres suposed to be a program called propellerhead record coming out that works directly with reason to allow you to do so right now it is available as a beta on thier website
thxs bro, I was really wondering how to make work the vocoder, I still cant make it sound as modulated as u do, but I guess it has to do with the sound you choose in maelstrom
lol, Initializing a sample is when you erase the sample and start fro scratch lol so thats the problem, you initilize first (if you have a.d.d. and you feel like it needs to be done) so you really only need to load the sample
i get the hooking up of the vocoder to the malstrom and stuff, but what i don't get is how u get your vocals into an nn-xt/nn19 or so whatever, please explain
I can't figure out what you pressed to make you vocal come up on your screen. I almost have it though thanks for posting this video it's good stuff for us new reason users.
I have a problem, i am using Audacity to convert my files and i can get them into reason using the NN-XT but i cant figure out how to get them into the song and get them to work with the vocoder and no one will help me, please someone suggest something, i'm stressing out. thanx
completely disagree with "the more programs you use the better".
Not saying stay limited to one program, but why stay limited to software only? Pointless.
Its not what programs you use, but what your extent of knowledge about music production goes.
In my audio tech training sessions there were three books that gave you a nice start to production. Sound reinforcement handbook, modern recording techniques, and the audio dictionary.
nice vid ....but when I follow it im left with an nn19 that isnt connected to anything but the mixer. You were about to explain it but then you started doing chords
Well that's your opinion BTW I wasn't slaming Reason I use it as well it's just that some things are easier to apply on other programs sticking to one program won't help your production skills, the more programs you use the better
every software has its use, on the past fruitloops introduced a good logic to build music in blocks, and today it still can be used for this, some professional producers uses reason synths, export in blocks and create the whole harmonic using fruitloops... and we cannot forget, fruitloops was before even before the fantastic reason get it place, on my opinion, it's not only the tool who makes the great artist, but the artist whatever the tool he has.. =)
@systembail I Strongly disagree there Fruity loops does have a Vocoder in case that is why you think it sucks. Also if you really get good and learn how 2 use all of FL i can be just as good as a song made in reason it just depends on the person making the song. Check out Feed Me he makes most of his music in FL and it may not be the music you like but just hear what can be made with it!
and fruityloops is one of the harder pieces of Software available.
Hey yo, it might be early days, and I don't want to come accross all 'fan boy', but dilio, you're on some Timbaland-type shiznit, homie!
