i just bought a 2000 toyota 4runner 4cylinder its my first car and ever since i got new tires and rims which was the day after i bought it it makes this whining noise does anybody know if that is just what a 4cylinder sounds like or is that the tires and rims or something else?
Of course there is a way. Just need to replace gasket betwen header and engine block, replace water pump, and stuff... There's no need to replace whole thing.
@HAL9000PL and if it's a cracked head or block? even if it's a warped block you have to pull the engine. Also you don't know how long it's been driven with antifreeze shooting into the cylinders. Very bad for the rings.
The 'mayo' issue is not correct because short journeys in a car can result in condensation (water) mixing with the oil to promote the same as a possible leaking head gasket. scum in the header coolant bottle is not good though.
One big sale pitch!

Oil fill caps are easy to change. Try looking at the stuff down in the hole. Coolant in the oil isn't too bad if it's caught early.

One thing, money! Is there a way to help eliminate water from an engine without overhauling the whole thing?
I know a lot of people are DIY type people who would love to save money while servicing their vehicles.
