  • Gene Hackman just became my role model

  • awww the boys were sooooo adoreable!

  • gene hackmans mischevious laughter is the best thing ever.

  • this is my new favourite film... the perfect family

  • Buckley!!!

  • i smoked crack with my grandpa, does that count as the same thing

  • the best movies never get the credit they deserve.

  • Gene Hackman totally got robbed of at least an oscar nomination if not a win for this performance... its a really awesome and memorable role, this movie will go down in history as a cult classic but i'm proud to say I saw it in the theater with my own father a few years before he died (life imitating art a bit). I couldn't even name you any of the other movies from the year this came out, but i'll always remember this one. Really underrated and underrecognized movie.

  • @ruin3r I think this was the year A Beautiful Mind came and everyone was obsessed with that movie. But yes, Gene Hackman gave a splendid, unforgettable performance.

  • hahaha he's the epicest grandpapi ever xd the story about pagoda stabbing him is brilljant xd

  • stuck me right in the gut with a schiff

  • Sux that Gene Hackman has retired from acting

  • "he did."

    oh, and fuck wmg

  • shitballs the music is what i wanted

  • jewtube is a little much. maybe gestapotube

  • If anyone can sit through thid scene and not bust out loud and spill a gut, you need to check your pulse.

  • This is bollocks! Ah, fuck, best scene in the entire film. Pout pout pout. Thank goodness for the dvd sitting on my shelf

  • ARRGGH!

  • fucking bullshit

  • I would like to agree with you, but "jewtube"??? Oy vey!

  • what the fuck?

  • To paraphrase Thoreau... I went to the.....streets.. and... garbage trucks, and Go Carts..... "because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

    I love this movie!

  • I say this as someone who did not love this movie. It gets my vote for #1 best, most arresting and most uplifting use of a montage-with-song in any movie I have ever seen.

  • "I'm not talking about dance lessons..."

I love love love Gene Hackman!

  • Beat ou into ass crime stuff. 1;30 am, OU sux.

  • LOL, Rich people acting like poor people.

  • Paul Simon, me and julio down by the schoolyard

  • Just love it!

  • I love this scene too. But if anyone saw this movie in theaters would realize the original song was 'Judy is a Punk' by the Ramones!!!! Can anybody vouch for me here? This song does not even come close to the original one, in fact the whole song was almost played throughout the whole scene (Judy is a Punk is only a minute and a half!)

  • wrong scene

  • OOOPS, true enough, it's the Margot's life scene. Maybe I just thought it was a good place to play the song over, either way I'm wrong. Thanks for the correction!

  • Honest mistake, Judy is a Punk is played over this scene in the trailer.

  • OHHH! Good point. Maybe that's what I thought was in the original, I now have to watch the trailer to reaffirm my mixed thoughts! Thanks Ringo!

  • AH-HA! That explains everything! I obviously confused the trailer with the original scene! Thanks Ringo! I can finally stop scratching my head in wonder!

  • gotaa loooooooooooove sarcasm!! :D

  • who steals milk? this is my favorite scene hands down.

    thanks for posting it.

  • I could pick apart any part of this comment but I'll just stick to one part

The music: So you are calling Me and Julio emo? (in case you can't figure it out that is the song playing right now) Goodbye Ruby Tuesday (because the Rolling stones are such emos) These days by Nico, the Charlie brown Christmas (or at least it sounded like it) are so emo, all they talk about are killing yourself and being stupid. The only song that could possibly be considered emo is needle in the hay but its debatable

  • whoa there buddy Needle in the hay is NO were near emo not even in the same category!! leave Elliot smith out of this...

  • WHOA there buddy Needle in the hay is no were near emo not even in the same category!!! lets leave Elliot smith out of this!!

  • its called reality son.

  • thats the freakin best movie erver(what kind of hat is he wearing?)

  • Boy, I'll never forget the time my grand-dad taught me how to shoplift. Ahh...good times.

  • oh yeah, i want to shoot someone in the hand with a pellet gun too...

  • so lets see... bombing in a pool, crossing on a red, unsafe driving, shoplifting, joyriding a garbage truck... what terrible behaviour.

this is one of my favourite scenes, i love it! 'who stabbed you?' 'he did'.

i want to take my two nephews out and recreate this bit.

  • you should

  • Bestest film(: could somebody tell me what the song is? I'm thinking Simon and Garfunkle, but not too sure? It's not on the soundtrack...

  • paul simon- me and julio down by the schoolyard

  • thanks! found it straight after anyway(:

  • one of the best films (but underrated). gypsy cab

    He did."

  • i think that's the coolest granpa ever

  • @wedisegen to Ari and Uzi, they probably think of him as the coolest 'PAPI' ever

  • I love this movie, so so much!

  • me too,its quality!

  • my favorite movie all time....almost as good as back to the future

  • Royal makes horseback riding look bad ass.....Wes Anerson's best...for sure..

  • best part though is when they get back home and the kid has dog's blood on his forehead.

  • I love this movie. I never get tired of it.

  • I wish I could had a day like that!!

  • gypsey cab co. hillarious!

  • I'm not talking about dance lessons, I'm talking about putting a brick through the other guy's windshield.

  • Brilliant scene from a great film, even though rotten Gwyneth Paltrow is in it. Just goes to show how great the film is; even Gwyneth can't ruin it & trust me, Gwyneth ruins EVERYTHING.

  • Great music and movie. This is one of my favorite scenes.
