I don't know how other states will vary but I got a buddy who always fights his tickets.

He said if the officer doesn't show up to court then the judge will rip up the ticket and you'll be free to go.

If the officer does show up then you can pay for the ticket before the actual session starts.

My buddy says the officers only should up about 30-50% of the time.

another quick fact im not sure if it applies in all states but in california if the cop is sitting in a parking lot watching cars go bye that is illegal but when you go to court you wont have proof of that because court wont believe u only the cop

But in the state of Florida if you elect to attend a court hearing, meaning you take it to court and plead not guilty, and the Judge finds you guilty, The state can impose a 500 dollar civil penalty on top of the traffic fine and points. So if you get a ticket from a LEO using a Laser..You are toast, no getting out of that. And zIHeckert you are wrong on the details of the vehicle. Doesnt matter if LEO says its you, its you

@PurexClan You are actually incorrect. Getting the judge to dismiss the laser evidence was the easiest part of my trial. You may not have the ability to claim it was a different car with a laser, which you can do with radar, but you have the advantage of lasers general increased sensitivity to outside interference, and the fact that it is heavily disputed in the scientific community

@PurexClan also, that 500 dollar fine is more of a scare tactic, as I have seen multiple people go to trial and lose, with only slight increases to their fine. I would imagine it depends on how you conduct yourself in court. It would also probably not help if you requested a jury trial, which would be more of a headache for the court, and thus make them more likely to impose such finds.

Carlton, haven't finished the whole video yet but I'm letting you know the whole "can and will be used against you in a court of law" is applicable when the person has be read their miranda rights. Cops don't read them when they pull you over. Anything you say is under your own fault for speaking (for not knowing your rights) before they read you miranda.

ugh Ive already done traffic school 3 times but I got lucky because one of them fell within like 2 weeks of not being able to do it because a full year hadnt passed. Something similar happend with seatbelt tickets too. Im 24 now though and I believe my records pretty clear.
