i am going thru a similar situation !! i am surounded by homeless people and at first i tries to befriend a few of them and i had some old clothes i wanted to give away but they have been soooo rude to me and others around my house that i have completely changed my perception of them !! they are hungover and angry inside and they take it out on people who are doing better then they are !! i have met homeless people who are good but the ones im surrounded by are hoorible !!!

Most people don't become homeless "overnight", usually their downfall occures over years or even months. So that pushes homelessness back even further then Obama senate time or even his current presidency!! It's a simple matter of economics. If you have only two dollars in your pocket and you're hungry, what are you going to buy with it, a head of broccoli or a McDonald's value meal? The value meal isn't as healthy in the long run, but it's a lot more filling and gets you through the day.

Since there isn't an adequate amount of services to help these people get back on their feet, what the fuck are they supposed to do?  Just wait until the economy collapses and we all live under a bridge. What will the cops do then?

I see this problem so clearly. I was born at Metro Hospital in Cleveland. I grew up on Lester and Finn off Broadway, just minutes from Downtown. Over the tracks BEFORE the early 80s there had been desegregation. As I entered into school we were told about how there would be children coming from the projects. We were conditioned on how to treat the new students. This was an experiment. I have since moved to Germany. During a visit to the Amerikahaus in Hamburg I actually found a book dealing with

These are human beings dammit we are talking on. The United States specifically Cleveland is along way from those times. Projects and being homeless in tents are two different things. Projects are low income housing thats all. These are homeless adults living under a bridge because of no homes.

In the times of Plato people didn't help the homeless or the hungry begger. They belonged to the city like a disease. They would get money from passersby and not given housing. Here's the truth..The Cleveland Browns organization didn't like the fact that these people were in view of the stadium but not on stadium property.

I am a Browns fan but not a fan of the fans. Last month fans beat up a homeless man and he ended up in the emergency room. This happens after games on a regular basis.

Why do homeless people end up in the city? Because the suburbs offer no services!

I ended up in downtown Cleveland homeless after 2 denials from Social Security for my disability!
