I don't currently attend a church, but I have.. many of them, including UCC's. Because of my experiences, I have a lot of strong opinions about religion. I do not like organized religion too much; churches do not meet the needs of the people in our communities. I have been continuously disappointed with the works of "religion," but I do believe in a good and loving God.

As far as rape, when a woman comes in for an exam after rape, she is offered emergency contraceptives to avoid pregnancy. Why would there be pregnancy due to rape? I'll tell you, because she would claim rape just to get an abortion and in the process ruin some guy's life. To receive an abortion because of rape, she darn sure better prove it.

Exactly how many of those children are you caring for? There are currently over 520,000 children in foster or group homes nationwide. Children without parents fit enough to care for them. Now I wonder how that number would explode if you reversed Roe V Wade. Because you now also have safe haven in most states where for up to 6 months you can drop off your infant the fire house no questions asked. They are automatically put in foster care for 6 more months minimum, before adoption is allowed.
Do you know what kind of developmental issues occur when a child is not able to bond because of this type of neglectful shuffling? Look up - RAD and ODD.
If women will go to back alley abortionists, why wouldn't they use other means? Just because it can be done illegally doesn't mean it has to be kept legal. People buy back alley drugs full of poison. That doesn't mean drugs should be legal. If it's hard or impossible to get rid of the baby, keep your pants on or have it. There are thousands of families out there that want a baby more than life itself.
Carrying a baby to term isn't the end of the world. It's a short-term inconvenience. Have the baby, get back to life, stop whining. What's so hard? Maybe you will make better choices in the future. Killing the baby is too easy for some people who believe like you do that humans don't matter.
9 months or so is a nice reasonable time for a woman to reflect just how she got into this situation, and plan how she is never going do that again. I think it works out quite nicely. Marrying the guy she loved enough to jump into bed with is a lifelong lesson to reflect on. And if she chooses to not keep the baby, that baby gets a chance to be everything it can be in this life. Maybe that will be the one that cures cancer or AIDS.

I was sick for the entire 9 months, it was miserable. I couldn't wait for it to be over, and then I endured 19 hours of labor. The worst excruciating pain of my life. Would I do it all over again? ABESOLUTELY! But I wanted my daughter. The facts are McCain has employed 3 well known lobbyists during his campaign. He has voted to pass, many bills with Earmarked spending. His tax plan, has been evaluated by several independant firms, who all agree his tax plan would increase the tax on the middle class. He would make Healthcare a taxable income. Meanwhile, people making over $250,000 per year, would get a $45,000 tax break? I don't know about you, but I don't make 250k per year. I already pay too much for health care.
I can't afford to vote for a President who believes, that I shouldn't have the right to choose abortion, even in cases of rape and incest. I can't in good conscience vote for a man, who lies to his constituents. I can't vote for a man, who would be happy to invade a friendly/ally country. I can't vote for a man, who voted against better Veteran health care. But is more than happy to keep sending our brave young men and women to a war, that was initiated on at best bad intelligence...

I don't currently attend a church, but I have.. many of them, including UCC's. Because of my experiences, I have a lot of strong opinions about religion. I do not like organized religion too much; churches do not meet the needs of the people in our communities. I have been continuously disappointed with the works of "religion," but I do believe in a good and loving God.

DreamInAmerica, I believe that Obama attended Wright's hate-mongering sermons for nearly 20 years for three reasons: (1) to distance himself from his Muslim heritage, (2) numerous political affiliations, and (3) he has a well-established record of dispising our country and Wright clearly does as well. I didn't find any information on that, however, one of the first stories about this was in 2005. So I would guess, he did it before then. I will guess that he did it when the investigation of Rezko began, and he found out that money could be tainted. But then, that's just the optimist in me.

Check your facts on the rules of the Senate... You can't vote present. Look up his voting record, try the washington post site, they have a list of everyones record, and the way each party wanted them to vote.
Voting present was a tactic used in state legislature, when he served there, he did this along with other members of his party to break the votes they opposed.

I believe that all people should be given the chance to rehabilitate, and repay their debt to society, before a death penalty is issued. I believe all of these things as a survivor of childhood rape. When that 5 weeks is reached, that baby already has a heartbeat, fingers and toes, and a face with expressions. It is a baby--a tiny human with rights. As far as rape, when a woman comes in for an exam after rape, she is offered emergency contraceptives to avoid pregnancy. Why would there be pregnancy due to rape? I'll tell you, because she would claim rape just to get an abortion and in the process ruin some guy's life. To receive an abortion because of rape, she darn sure better prove it.

Exactly how many of those children are you caring for? There are currently over 520,000 children in foster or group homes nationwide. Children without parents fit enough to care for them. Now I wonder how that number would explode if you reversed Roe V Wade. Because you now also have safe haven in most states where for up to 6 months you can drop off your infant the fire house no questions asked. They are automatically put in foster care for 6 more months minimum, before adoption is allowed.

9 months or so is a nice reasonable time for a woman to reflect just how she got into this situation, and plan how she is never going do that again. I think it works out quite nicely. Marrying the guy she loved enough to jump into bed with is a lifelong lesson to reflect on. And if she chooses to not keep the baby, that baby gets a chance to be everything it can be in this life. Maybe that will be the one that cures cancer or AIDS.

I was sick for the entire 9 months, it was miserable. I couldn't wait for it to be over, and then I endured 19 hours of labor. The worst excruciating pain of my life. Would I do it all over again? ABESOLUTELY! But I wanted my daughter. Theres the difference, I took care of myself, and spent those months puking my guts out, going through 19 hours of gut wrenching back breaking pain, because I wanted that baby. How can you force someone who doesn't want it, to do the same?

I didn't have plans to vote for Obama, until I did research into McCain. His politics are sub-par. How can I trust someone who says they are going to reform Washington by expelling Lobbyists, Earmarks, Pork Barrel Spending, Give Tax Cuts. But all of the facts show differently?

The facts are McCain has employed 3 well known lobbyists during his campaign. He has voted to pass, many bills with Earmarked spending. His tax plan, has been evaluated by several independant firms, who all agree his tax plan would increase the tax on the middle class. He would make Healthcare a taxable income. Meanwhile, people making over $250,000 per year, would get a $45,000 tax break? I don't know about you, but I don't make 250k per year. I already pay too much for health care.

I can't afford to vote for a President who believes, that I shouldn't have the right to choose abortion, even in cases of rape and incest. I can't in good conscience vote for a man, who lies to his constituents. I can't vote for a man, who would be happy to invade a friendly/ally country. I can't vote for a man, who voted against better Veteran health care. But is more than happy to keep sending our brave young men and women to a war, that was initiated on at best bad intelligence...

and at worst a misguided president, who was greedy for an oil pipeline. It's time to vote for a president who has the ability to negotiate, and rebuild our relationships around the world. It is time, to vote for a President who not only says what he means, but does what he says. That sir, is not John McCain, or Governor Palin. As much as I respect your opinion, I can only hope you will take your blinders off, ans start to do some real research.

Do a little research, before you start typing. And not just FOX news, try Cspan - CNN - BBC - International Papers. You can't get all of your news from once source, it would be biased.

Perhaps, WriteMrBond, before you eagerly heap blame and cast aspersions on the two republican candidates, you might consider the salient fact that there are MANY folks who dishonorably share responsibility for our great country's current economic challenges ... lobbyists, cronies, Pelosi's House, Reid's Senate, and others. In my humble opinion, Palin and McCain stand apart from those who "talk about change" due to their documented history of actually implementing change against established power-brokers. Granted, promoting one's self as the Messiah of Socialist Dominion is essentially a promise of change. However, that is not a change that most Americans will welcome once they fully comprehend Mr. Obama's plan.

how about in 2005 when mccain was co-sponsoring a bill for federal housing reform that would have stopped the bad lending practices 3years ago that are affecting the market today. at the same time Obama(who by the way was third highest on the list for amount of money received) was accepting $75k from Fannie/Freddie lobbyists who opposed the reform.

Which part are you impressed with? You are talking about a person who could be the next president. Where do I start. It is her knowledge of foreign affairs ( got her passport 2 MONTHS ago ), her knowledge of science ( against stem cell research ), her knowledge of education ( against sex education in school ) her support of FREE CHOICE FOR WOMEN , and yet she doesn't look like she is from the 18th century. My father and grandmother are both Republicans, Last election both Voted Kerry. This time, both are voting Obama. I spoke with my grandmother tonight about this board. You know she told me, that if you can't see McCain will bring another Depression with his presidency you are blind.
