It was them, and their holier-than-thou ways that were dictating their own twisted mores to a single mom who worked hard for the money (thank you, Donna!) and who looked as good as Barbara Eden!

@leftatalbuquerque I had no idea she did this "sequel" song, and I sure do like it. I don't think it's about apologizing to them as much as having 15 years of experience, wisdom and simply seeing these people for the flawed folks that they are. I think everyone in the song mellowed with age (or died). Although the line (from the original) "...and Mrs. Taylor sure seems to use a lotta ice, whenever he's away" is still one of my favorite lines from a song.

I saw her perform in 1981 at a County Fair. I was right up front and I gotta say, she was stunningly beautiful. I thought she was easily the prettiest lady in Counrty until I first saw Martina McBride years later. I am still torn! Oh yeah, they both have GREAT voices too...
