  • Would it be impossible to get a Megadrive in the UK/Northern Ireland today? What about the 32X? I only got a Mega drive in around 1995 - Lost it since.

  • Ah! Now this was the game that defined gaming in the 90s. Narox, I am pretty sure that you will remember this era well! When this game came out in the arcades, kids flocked bahaved like vultures, their eyes feasting on the action displayed on screen. When the game came out on the consoles, almost everyone argued that the game which version looked better. Visually the snes IS superior BUT the game runs alot faster on the SEGA Genesis & the 6 button controllers gives you better control! GR8 VID

  • Yeah back then people was arguing which version is better. Some Genesis folks wish they got the SNES version because of better graphics, and some SNES folks wish they got the Genesis version because of more speed and faster response.

  • @segagenesis1989 This and MK2 played better and more true on the Genny.....but you know, everyone was so enamored with graphics at the time that no one would give it the props that it should've had.

Sure the Genny's soundchip needs an Halls or an anti-histamine, lol, but it is what it is.

  • @egg64

These debates/discussions always occurred in from of the arcade cab. Most people compared the graphics from the arcade cab to the graphics on the SNES/Genesis. Gameplay was a forgotten element.

The fact that the sound was better on the SNES compared to the SEGA Genesis, didn't favour the little black beast! =)))

The fact that one can now view comparison videos on the internet helps to give a more balanced discussion on the matter!

    Cheers!

  • @segagenesis1989 Agreed on all accounts.

  • this is the closets port on the 16bit systems

  • so nostalgic,

btw i just subscribe to your videos ....

    5 stars!!!

  • So good i added this to my arcade group section if you don't mind :)

SF II is the best SF game in the series next to Alpha one IMO.

  • Thanks man!

  • thanks to you i revive my sega genesis...

now i need the sega cd,32 x....and my sega cosonsole collection is complete ..no i am not getting the pico...

    NAROX for best man!!!!!!

  • The pico sounds vaguely familiar.

  • Haha, Pico... Jboy and I sold so many of those back in the day!

  • Pretty good conversion but SF2 Turbo on the snes will always be my fave; not a big fan of the sound effects on this version but it's stil Street Fighter so still pretty good. ;)

  • Loved this game when it first came out on the SNES me and my friends played it for hours!

I own the PC Engine version of it now and i enjoy it still even today.

  • The PC Engine is surprisingly good, fluid and fast. I used to own the Turbografx version. :)

  • Yup great version and a Avenue 6 button pad is a must for it.

  • I love the Street fighter II games on the Mega Drive simply cos they play so well with the six button controller.

I played the shit out of this back in the day like most of us did, SFII and the first few MK games are my favorite fighters for sure.

    Awesome vid Narox! =)

  • Right on dude!

  • i smell lots of aweseomness in this vid : )

  • TameFan's da man!

  • narox and Tamefan should work togheter, so we can make the most epic vid ever hehe

  • got to love my SF but i prefer these games on the snes.

  • Do you have a preference of this version over Super Street fighter for Gen?

  • No preference. I think the SNES game has nicer graphics but the Genesis' game moves faster.

  • I like the addition of the six button controller. that sold me on the genesis versions. I just had to ignore the left and right shift buttons when playing fighting games on the snes like killer instincts.

  • very nice video man - this game rocks!

PS: I linked a video to your one, take a look on it ;-D

  • Thanks great one.

  • Hrhrhr - I love this video, because I owned Luca soooo bad ;-D

  • I used to prefer the SNES versions of this game, but i have to say the Genesis 6 button controller really puts this one on top. I'm LOVING it now on the Genesis.

  • The graphics look great like this. Reminds me that I need a better CRT. Lol. =)

  • Ah those were the days. Picking up 6 button pads for every time we rented SFII. Great game!

Bet you had ya hands full recording this one. That's a lot of demos! I wonder if they have any accuracy to the arcade.

  • Yep the recording took a while. The auto demo shows every stage. :)

  • Oh wow! Memories! I remember going to pick this game up at the store, and buying the 6 button controllers. Me and friends had some great tournaments.

  • That's awesome man.

  • I'm going to be "that guy" and say I prefer the SNES version =P

  • Oh yea I remember playing this at a friends house on his Genesis before picking up a copy of SFIITurbo for the SNES. Great vid as always Narox =)

  • Street Fighter 2 Turbo for SNES, the definitive version. And thanks!

  • indeed, the sound is nowhere close to the SNES, great game tho.

  • good game
