11,102 people were to be deported from Estonia according to the order of June 13, but some managed to escape. The opertation affected Latvia and Lithuania at the same time.

Lets face it, the monument was only for the fallen soldiers who fought nazism and died in that land. The monument was not made to remind of any Soviet occupation . It was even made by an Estonian. Why can't we live in peace, without hurting minorities more. Russian minorities have problems with getting citizenship EVEN if they want learn Estonian, they feel more empty, they were hurt when the monument was moved.

There is so much hatred coming from Estonians and Poles towards Russians often it is blind hatred.
Many people give general comments. "Russian media is not true". I have watched Russian tv in Russia, and I have seen criticism of Putin, Nashi etc. Why is it false?? When I watch US and European media and even my UK textbooks have things not true about Russia, but very few people can question these sources as Russian media needs to become more widespread.

Narva was destroyed because Estonians totally senseless began to fight on the German site in 1944 against an army that had 10 times more people. The front was senselessly stopped for 8 months, 0,5 million people died and Narva was destroyed. Todays population of Narva are the same victims of a totalitarian regime as Estonians. The regime sent them to Narva - to the very western part of the huge Soviet Union - and suddenly in 1991 someone built a border right 500m east of their houses....

Being a big country isn't explanation. Americans are hated by much more poeple than Russians (may be not in Poland, many Poles created independent US in XVIII century and later). Japaneese aren't liked in many countries like Germans in Europe. Many Asian countries are really affraid of Chineese,but they are becaming more commercious than oppressive. Austrian in XIX century were much better occuper than Russians, Shouthern Poland than was almost free in conditions of XIX century.
The point is that Russia is weaker than US or China nowadays, and little countries (making an alliance of procection) have enough power to say Russia NO, and I seem that dissaponits Russia very much, cause Russia is forced to treat us as partners not "small ones".

I think there are a bit another reasons that Poles don't like Russians than Balts. 1. Poles feel traited by Russians in 1939, when they broke Peace Treaty from 1921 and attacked Poland during we were fighting with Germans.
2. in 1939 Soviets exterminates thousends of Polish officers, and many other families deported to Sybiria
3.During WWII there was existing (quite strongly) underground Polish state, which were still fihghting with Nazis (Nazis called than Poles terrorists - some analogy to Chechnya). After WWII Soviet so called "liberators", showing where is the right place of Nazis, at the same time were exterminating Polish guerilla who fighted with Nazis for free Poland (cause they were "white" Poles).
4. During Soviet domination, we couldn't do anything without Moscow agreement. All people who fighted for our independence where exterminated or prisoned. In 45-th actually Soviet NKWD nad their agents were gocerning Poland. 5. Russians demanded us to send them produced by us goods without paying (like vasals paying the tribute). And there were many other very detaily reasons. Also in deeper past (XIX century)

I was accidentaly in the middle of it and i can assure you that estonian police was not violent at all. I repeat police was not violent. Group of drunk people tried to rob shops and burn down houses and police didn't let them to do it. That was it. One dunken russian got stabbed by another drunken russian. He was the only victim. All those "russain heroes" were actually so so enormously drunk.. In a some way at times it was even a bit funny.

Agree polos, but the same way Russians shouldn't glorify stalinism, and soviet crimes. That's the main point of current historical quarrels between Russians and others. I even doubt that Estonians glorify crimes. These older Estonians may be commited few crimes, but also fought for Estonian freedom against soviet barbarians. I think, just only this part of their activity is gloryfied.

I don't think it was possible to make Estonia free by cooperating with Nazis. The point is that in 1939-40 Soviets killed or sent to Siberia(what equaled mostly death) more Estonians than Nazis. 4Estonians killing 50000 of them is like 4Germans to kill 5 milionsGermans, cause there were about 800000 Estonians. I think that Estonians cooperated with Germans just to survive, and to revange on their soviet oppresors. They choose between 2evils&their fault was that they've chosen loosers.

Lets face it, the monument was only for the fallen soldiers who fought nazism and died in that land. The monument was not made to remind of any Soviet occupation . It was even made by an Estonian. Why can't we live in peace, without hurting minorities more. Russian minorities have problems with getting citizenship EVEN if they want learn Estonian, they feel more empty, they were hurt when the monument was moved.

There is so much hatred coming from Estonians and Poles towards Russians often it is blind hatred.
Many people give general comments. "Russian media is not true". I have watched Russian tv in Russia, and I have seen criticism of Putin, Nashi etc. Why is it false?? When I watch US and European media and even my UK textbooks have things not true about Russia, but very few people can question these sources as Russian media needs to become more widespread.

In north-eastern Estonia (county of Ida-Virumaa) 77% of the population is russian! They have mostly been born there! It is there homeland!! Nobody forbade Russians speak Russian. Only if they wanna have Estionian citizenship, they are obligated to know Estonian. It is natural legal regulation in majority of countries. Narva was destroyed because Estonians totally senseless began to fight on the German site in 1944 against an army that had 10 times more people. The front was senselessly stopped for 8 months, 0,5 million people died and Narva was destroyed. Todays population of Narva are the same victims of a totalitarian regime as Estonians. The regime sent them to Narva - to the very western part of the huge Soviet Union - and suddenly in 1991 someone built a border right 500m east of their houses....

for you it might look like Estonians fought on the German side. Not for Estonians, they were fighting for their country. Also Finns were fighting on the "German side" the entire war. But you don't think anybody cared about the German cause.
The Russians were held for 8 months behind Narva because Estonians knew who their worst enemy was after one year of Soviet-Russian occupation in 1940-1941.

you might be right about the 77% but before the war - it was entirely populated with Estonians. Almost no Russians (95& of Estonians).
And right now, on the countryside 80% of people are ethnic Estonians, only the cities were populated with the Russians.

Being a big country isn't explanation. Americans are hated by much more poeple than Russians (may be not in Poland, many Poles created independent US in XVIII century and later). Japaneese aren't liked in many countries like Germans in Europe. Many Asian countries are really affraid of Chineese,but they are becaming more commercious than oppressive. Austrian in XIX century were much better occuper than Russians, Shouthern Poland than was almost free in conditions of XIX century.

I think there are a bit another reasons that Poles don't like Russians than Balts. 1. Poles feel traited by Russians in 1939, when they broke Peace Treaty from 1921 and attacked Poland during we were fighting with Germans.

3.During WWII there was existing (quite strongly) underground Polish state, which were still fihghting with Nazis (Nazis called than Poles terrorists - some analogy to Chechnya). After WWII Soviet so called "liberators", showing where is the right place of Nazis, at the same time were exterminating Polish guerilla who fighted with Nazis for free Poland (cause they were "white" Poles).

4. During Soviet domination, we couldn't do anything without Moscow agreement. All people who fighted for our independence where exterminated or prisoned. In 45-th actually Soviet NKWD nad their agents were gocerning Poland. 5. Russians demanded us to send them produced by us goods without paying (like vasals paying the tribute). And there were many other very detaily reasons. Also in deeper past (XIX century)

Stalin exterminated people ont on basis of race, he just exterminated people who didn't agree with him or didn't fit to his vision of life (so people inteligent who were able to make money in free market system, people well educated, etc.) - in general - on social class. It wasn't racism of course, but it was classism. I cannot say what's worse or better, both bad.

there is only 30% of ethnic Russians in Estonia, many of them have Estonian citizenship. But while you talk about East-Estonia and its towns full of Russians, you forgot to mention that outside of the towns, nearly 80% living in the country side are Estonians.
True Russian towns? You know, before the II world war, there were only 10% Russians in Narva, but guess what with Stalins russification, hundreds of thousands of Russians were imported to Estonia.

why Balts? I'm sure U know about Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. So for Poles Lithianians are brothers or at least friends. There was only short unpleasant episode in our relations in 1920-45. I ignore what some stupid nationalists say. Now we're together in EU and have got similar problems with RuSSia, so it's normal that we support ourselves, isn't it? I wanna mention that also Lithuania's supporting Poland now.

I don't forget who we were on Hitler's list of whatever(Hitler didn't want to clean us, it dosn't mead he was good). We also remember, that Sovets were allies of Nazis in 1939, and when Poland was attacked by Germans after two weeks Soviets"pushed knife into our back". Soviets started to be"antinazis"when they were traited by Germans. Before they were great friends. We'd be gratefull them if let us be independent after WWII, and didn't forced us(by falcificating-by NKWD-voting)totalitar regime.

I knew some Chechens, they were very cultural. Actually I don't support Chechen mob or fundamentalists. But fact that they exist, wasn't an explanation to anihilate almost half of Chechens. Bandera people were brutally murdering Poles, but we weren't angels. Yesterday my brother had a party with U-kns, and they were drinking for Chmelnitsky rebel (uprising against Polish-Lithuanian domination), after which we wanted give Uk-ns authonomy. Despite past they like Poles more than Russians.

Sorry "only" about quater od Ch-s killed durig 10yrs war for independence with R-s. My mistake. Polulation of Ch-chnya in 1989 about 1,2 mln. There's large differency between diferent sources. But: 100k-250k Ch-s killed (including 32k-40k children) (sources from about 2000 yr), over 500k Ch-s injured,hundreds thousend of refugees

I appreciate what U're saying'bout Poland. Agree that Poland wants to be the closest Ukrainian ally. But although we're both very critical to Russian politics, please limit your hateness to Russians (not verery Moskal is a monster). A hateness can be a feature of fear. And Russians are pleased if sb is frightened by them. We don't fear them, we should just gamble them;)
