  • hey guys do i need a jet kit if I put a K&N Air Filter and a $130.00 slip on DanMoto??? I dont think i do, but i wanna make sure because i dont wanna mess up my engine. Btw i have a 2008 Ninja 250r with 6800 miles. Please respond..

  • @djmussy18 I heard that if you get a slip on you should do the jet kit too. I'm not a mechanic though so my advice isn't worth much. I heard it, so I did it. I like it. I think it helped even out the fuel/air mixture. That's what I've been told it does. Sounds good to me.

  • @nasausaf2 thanks man.

  • ok i will say this 250 ninjas are pretty quick for the size but dude seriously its a waste of money get a 600+ and dont say its a first bike i started on a 600 with no problem and have no intention on moving up bc of my size i dont look like a child on it as i would with nething over 600 (not that i couldnt ride it i ride my brothers r1 occasionally is just massive) if i did ever move up past 600 it would be a gxsr 750 which i doubt ill get bc the cbr 600rr is way better...

  • @SKEEZIN08 I like the CBR, probably get that next... one day.. I don't think my Kawasaki was a waste of money at all. I've gotten a LOT of good fun out of it.

  • I have an 08 ninja 250R (completely stock) I maxed it out at 105mph! Looks like that jet kit does not add much.

  • @russianoleg Yeah not really getting much more out of the top end. MUCH more responsive though.

  • @nasausaf2 what about at cold idle?

  • @nasausaf2 Thats exactly what I did. I bought a 2009 650R. Its way more unconfortable than a 2008 250R. I its too tall for me Im 5.4 tall.

  • @russianoleg The jet kit itself is not going to add more hp, but to only allow tuning for the aftermarket exhaust and or aftermarket intake… Once you add the full exhaust & or change out the stock filter for a K&N drop in OR K&N direct filter (air box removed), the carbs need to be re-tuned… The extra power will only come into play once the mods are done and the carbs are tuned via jet kit...

  • @01Commenter10 I just bought Dyno JetKit stage 2 for my 250R And a replacement K&N filter. I haven't installed the jet kit yet. Is it hard to do?. I also bought a 50T rear sprocket and a new chain (for some stunting action) Do you think I can get away with the stock exhaust on it?

  • @russianoleg Unless u know carbs and how to take them apart and rebuild.. NO

What do you mean get away with stock exhaust..?? What r u trying 2 do..??

  • @russianoleg I put a FULL exhaust on my 250r as well as removed the factory air box (put a K&N directly to the carbs) and it would have trouble starting… once i got it to start, the throttle was not very responsive, and when i did hit the throttle it would buckle and spit… Then we did the jet kit & drilled out the fuel jets and now its running like a CHAMP...

  • Respond to this video… You DO NOT need a jet kit if you change out the rear muffler alone… But once you change out the air filter OR change out the exhaust for a FULL exhaust system, then you need the Jet kit

  • @russianoleg ive rode a 06 250 that maxed out at 95..so 110 is allot better!

  • @tjizzle2da yeah thats becuase its an 06 (older model) my 08 tops out 105mph bone stuck and in ^ this video with jet kit its max is 110. not "allot better"...

  • @russianoleg yeah but its still a 250. if your dying for 20 more hp just get a 500

  • @russianoleg if you get your gearing right you can get more was at the track the other day and got my buddies 250 completely stock to 112

  • @Echonatek I think the word you were looking for was "install" and the jet kit cost 85 dollars and whatever the mechanic charges to install it. Takes n hour to hour n half to install the jet kit.

  • do you have a modified air filter fitted as well?

  • nice one. do you know how much faster it is.

    the topspeed and the acceleration.

i have the ninja250r and i am thinking about getting a jet kit.

    is it hard to install.

  • @EchoNatek I don't know the numbers but it's definitely a lot more responsive. If you have a slip on exhaust, you should really get a jet kit to even out the mixture. It's hard enough to install that I just had a mechanic do it. I'm not that good with engine stuff.. more into electronics. I would say do it though.

  • @nasausaf2 thanks for replying. i think i will do that then. i have a yusimure carbon slip on.

so it sounds awesome. what did you pay for the.... whats the word in English.... operation.

lol haaha. my english sux. so the hole deal. the kit and the operation.

  • @EchoNatek If you know your way around carburetors… then yes, its cake…. otherwise do not attempt it. Cause once you do the jet kit, you NEED to put the bike on a dyno to tune the jets for it… its not a plug and play...

  • Thats really nice. Im considering getting one of those and the price is right. Ive probably seen you riding route 8 cause i used to race my car from that light tot he merritt pkwy north exit

  • LIKE IT - IMPRESIVE

  • What's the stock 0-60 cause your vid is about 6 seconds... Isn't stock supposed to be 5.5? Correct me if I'm wrong haha

  • Mines getting rejetted right now and its gonna cost about $160

  • @The29Way That sounds about right.

  • @The29Way lol. cant afford that, i do al my stuff myself and learn as i go/ read a lot on forums.

  • @paladain55 Haha i can understand that i like to be able to do stuff myself. I just put on a 15 tooth front sprocket today and that ddefinately helped the top end a lil bit and really hasnt hurt the acceleration much i like it so far. I also put the Danmoto GP Carbon on with the rejett which went to 102's instead of the stock 98's.

  • @The29Way i wanna be kinda stealthy.250cc i-2's dont sound as good as 600cc i-4's so im not gonna waste money on muffler, because i will get one when im 18 and the parents have no say so. but i plan on this: re-jet kit, kn pod filter, brt tis ignition module(93 octane tune), and probably stay with stock gearing (100mph is enough for me, i want acceleration), and good tires. the rebel is junk, i hate cruisers, but its nice to go faster than my moped.

  • @paladain55 nice yea i want a 600 too but wait another year or so. Im gonna put the k&n filter on too and new tires. My exhaust was actually only 80 bucks so that wasnt to bad, and also the acceleration isnt really very different than stock and i agree 100 mph is plenty quick haha

  • @The29Way i wonder how much power you can get out of a ninja 250 at the wheel? i figure my set up will help me hone my skills and get ready for a big bike. if i ever crash im telling the insurance company somebody ran me off the road. lolz

  • @paladain55 Yea thats what im thinking too about getting my skills good with the 250 before moving up. I was told 40 is all the stock clutch can handle so idk depends how much money you wanna spend i guess lol

  • @The29Way man how the hell would you get 40? that a lot. that would be like all of my upgrades plus exhaust, and a port and polish, and maybe a HC kit

  • @paladain55 I know thats what im sayin its gonna take alot of money if you can 40 out of it you may as well take that money and get you a 600 lol

  • @The29Way to get 30 at the wheel wouldnt be bad. do you still have your ninja?

  • @paladain55 Yea 30 definately wouldnt be bad. Yea i still have mine its a2010 ive rejetted it added a danmoto carbon fiber exhaust and fender eliminator, and took the snorkel of the air box.

  • @The29Way i almost bought one a month ago. red 2009 with 9k miles. 1500. but the old ball n chain (my mom) said no :'( i dont think ill ever see a deal like that again... but i will get one eventually. since ive had the rebel she seems more lax on the idea of a sport bike

  • @paladain55 Yea that would have been a good deal, you never know tho you might find a good deal again when you can get one. Yea its not like the 250 is crazy fast or anything they are quick tho.

  • @The29Way as soon as i get some money for a motorcycle and a car ill start putting some videos up of them... gonna get a mustang and a ninja 250. gonna mod a lot of the ninja (get all that i can out of the 250 since i wont be able to get anything bigger and live in the same house with my parents)

  • how much did it cost u to get all that done to it? the jet kit and all? i have a 2008 ninja 250r. black also. i just got it. so i will b putting up a video soon. but it has a slip on two bros also. i want to get it jetted too. but just curious on the cost. thanks!

  • Yu have some amazing launches

  • Wats a dino jet kit?

  • i have a fuel injected version and i must say mine seems a bit quicker than this especially at the top end mine gets to 115mph then it takes a while but gets to 122mph but i have done some mods to min like a full race exhaust and air intake system I also changed the front size cog up 1 tooth

  • @JCarapezza There's an injected 250? What year? Why don't you put up some vids?

  • @nasausaf2 European, Brazilian and Thai models have fuel injection

  • @nasausaf2 European, Brazilian and Thai models have fuel injection

  • @nasausaf2 im from england its a 2010 model and i dont have a camera for the job :(

  • @nasausaf2 European Ninjas are Fuel Injection...

  • @nasausaf2 euro and tai models are Fi or ecotrons conversion kit

  • @riujinzero so your say I should get the dyno and then get the jet kit? Or you saying get the dyno to tune it instead of the jet kit?( so I know it's a perfect tune) but I'll also be ok if I just get the jet kit?

  • @EQRoycerranMF "DYNO" is the brand name of the jet kit I used. That's all I have, and a slip-on exhaust.

  • @EQRoycerranMF oh you know what, nevermind, i didn't read everything on this page properly and i thought you were talking to me.

  • Do you have a link for the jet kit on this bike so I can purchase?

  • @nasausaf2 kk I'll get it re jetted that way I get optimal performance out of the exhaust. Ty again for the info.

  • @Nasausaf2 did u have to get a dyno to check how to tune it? Or does it just matter by what kind or carburetor your bike has?

  • @EQRoycerranMF After you install a slip-on it runs a bit lean, so you have to install a jet kit to change the mixture to make it more rich. I wish I knew enough about engine mechaincs to know about carburetors. But I don't.

  • @EQRoycerranMF The best way to tune the bike is with a dyno as you can see exactly how what the air fuel ratio is at certain rpms. That is what you are tuning for is to have the air fuel ratio within certain limits throughout the rpm range. It is almost impossible to get it dead on with a carb but you can come close. The good news is that enough people have done this kind of work to the bike that you can usually use the same jet setting with good success.

  • @Nasausaf2 kk Ty for info, n nice video.

  • @nasausaf2 how much was it to re jet your ninja? I just ordered my exhaust and want to get it re jetted

  • @EQRoycerranMF The kit was $80 or something. Paid a mechanic to do it for me. Took them maybe a couple hours or so. At the most.

  • What is a dyno jet kit?

  • @SkullOnRoses banned.

  • @SkullOnRoses and you suck fat dick...dont talk shit about other peoples bikes faggot

  • @SkullOnRoses its good for a 250 and if he drops 2 teeth in the sprocket he can go about 115

  • ¿¿¿170 km/h???

  • @T0H0E0G0A0M0E I've heard that the 07's might be a little faster since Kawi redisigned the engines in the 08's and up to have a wider power band

  • @T0H0E0G0A0M0E It isn't. It doesn't. It's not. You do that.

  • very sick,

looks just like the entrance to the connector from monroe CT

  • have you tried changing sprockets to 15-42? i think that will give you a much better top end speed. You are reaching top speed way past the max power RPM's.

  • @gbessone I'm sure that'd probably work but I'm not planning on doing any more modding to this bike. Selling it for a CBR600 as soon as I find a good deal on one. Love the Ninja 250, but I'm ready for some more power now. Thanks for watching. :)

  • Slip on? Full Exhaust? Snorkel Delete? K&N Pot Filter?

  • @jflexe99 two bros slip on. i dunno what snorkel delete or pot filter are.

  • Wow that's like 6 sec 0-60. It's awesome, but the engine sounds as if it's dying. I mean that might be normal, but at this high rpm it does sound like that.

  • @ivchomalkiqa I'm not hearing a dying sound.. I dunno what to say about that. I just had it serviced fully the day before this vid. 6 sec is a definite improvement over pre-jetted. I just test drove a friend's 950 Fireblade that he's selling... I don't know if I can get back on my Ninja now.. That Honda is like an amusement park rollercoaster how it accelerates. Holy s.

  • good job man . have you done a duno test after the instalation of the jet kit ??

and how much did the kit cost ??
