Yeah, I've noticed as well that there are a few differences, but it is not harm the video that much :) I like that you explained everything in detail enough to understand it for a noob. Is that OK to post that video on my site?
Awesome job man. Yoast has been updated since you posted this, but it's not that much different from what you show. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. Thanks again
Hi Steve, thanks for such an informative video which I have found to be most helpful. Just one question - why is it scary to block the indexing of category archives? I thought that this was helpful to avoid duplicate content issues. I would be interested to hear your view. Many thanks and regards - Ger
The explanation was great but i recommend that you give the information about the page at the begining so we don't have to wait to the end to know it. Thanks
Latest Yoast plugin has changed a bit but this video is still VERY relevant! Thank you so much... I had no idea I left so many useful settings in the disabled-bin. Thank you!
Very helpful video, Steve! You walked us through Yoast WordPress SEO plug-in and made it an ease for a beginner like myself to follow along. Thanks for sharing the post! This was awesome! :)
Excellent video Steve. I have only one question. Everyone talks about how great the Thesis theme is for SEO. Would you recommend that I install the yoast plugin on a Thesis supported WordPress blog?
Hey Great tutorial, very clear. I also have to mention that you have a very clear voice for this sort of presentation and a very good pace as well. I was not bored or turned off to hear you carry on. On some other videos it is very difficult to sit and listen to the person. I know this is not a technical comment, but a very important one, I think.
Thank you for this walk-through. I am looking forward to the vid you make on the .html extension for posts AND pages (as my site that I am developing will be 95% pages). Again, thanks. ~doctorEQ
I should add that I do agree with you that writing unique titles and descriptions is FAR BETTER, but for the legions of lazy folks out there, this will ensure that something will be added for the desc tag when they happen to "forget"... Again, nice job on the vid...
Very well done Steve - I was going to make a video like this to show to a couple of employees who were used to our All-in-One SEO setups, but now I don't have to. ;)
If there's anything I'd throw in, it would be that I DO recommend adding %%title%% and %%excerpt%% for the title and meta description, (at about 5:30 in your video) which will use the main post title for the title tag and will place the first (appx) 160 characters of the post as the description tag.
@shendison Thanks for the awesome feedback! As I recall, pulling elements from the copy to use in title and meta data creates a higher keyword density for the content being repeated and does little for the target keyword theme.
If you perform a Google search for "title tag principles", you'll notice that I modified the action, value proposition ("that improve SEO ranking") and hand-wrote the title and meta description.
There's nothing greater than unique title and meta data for higher CTR.
Terrific tutorial. Steve does an excellent job moderating. He is easy to understand, gets right to the point and explains each element in the different categories. I recommend this to anyone -- like myself -- who is new to the Wordpress SEO Plugin by Yoast

Loved your tutorial but when I went to your website I got lost. Can't find anything about SEO. Guess I'm just a luddite.

This information needs to be updated as there is a newer version out and the video does not match up with the current Yoast release.

Excellent - many thanks for this excellent resource. Please can you refer to the following:
Steve’s Top WordPress SEO Plugins

Question:
Now that Yoast is with us which of your 2009 top plugins are still extant? Obviously a number of those listed are now redundant?
