  • NIN ripped off Skinny Puppys "Dig it" (wich Leeb from FLA was a member of before FLA) for the first NIN single: "Down in it"

I think that can end the NIN Vs. FLA war. Reznor was CLEARLY influenced by FLA/Skinny Puppy and Ministry.

NIN is a great band but even Reznor admits this in Ministrys "Fix" movie trailer AND in interviews like this one:

    ninwiki.com/Down_In_It_%28song%29

  • its electric, kind of, and metal-ish, kind of

it sounds good. who gives a fuck what unnecessary music genre its in?

"No! It is post-fartcore porngrind electro bacon pirate rap!"

Go get yourselves a buckshot enema. Fuck.

  • Gods I love Leeb. He's my idol.

  • this is Me . this is my vibe !!!!!!!!!!!

  • NIN is mainstream trash, plain and simple. STOP MENTIONING NIN OR TRENT REZNOR AND WHILE MENTIONING GREAT BANDS LIKE SKINNY PUPPY OR FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY!

If you want to get super technical FLA is EBM but to me that's being technical, with their early stuff you could call them industrial, I mean Leeb was a member of Skinny Puppy. Front 242 made up EBM if I'm not mistaken, and I have always found FLA to be much darker than "EBM"

  • @LySeRgIa2 fuck off you fascist asshole.

  • NIN are more goth than FLA. Pretty Hate Machine is loved by goths everywhere, and I don't know any into FLA.

  • esta banda es de lo mejor en industrial me encantan escuchen los canbios de ritmos y samples estan cavrones y profesionales en todo !!!!!!

  • Fuckin awesome!

  • here are some more awesome songs by FLA-Victim, Fatalist, Existence, Replicant, Vigilante (AWESOME), Intruder, STURM. Actually every song is awesome but these are some of my favorites.

  • NIN fans - stop being assholes! i like both equally and believe me arguing about bands is moot when it's all relative, and makes you look like clowns.

  • I remember when they pulled a false shoe event , they still owe their fans for that . They are really much better to watch live , amazing.

  • @RobinDropping False shoe event? What do you mean?

  • @Scornocopia It's kind of like a false flag event , but with a shoe. The first time (first instance) I found out about it was when Gibby Hanes from the Butthole Surfers had one of his roadies chuck a shoe at his head. They played 3 songs before that happened and they left . He wanted to leave early so he could get his fix. Lame . Bands pull that kind of thing all the time and they still get their paycheck. It's a really good tactic .

  • limpdikgoblin doesn't know what hes talking about! 27 doesn't mean shit! i'm 36 so fucking what! i grew up when industrial was giving birth but i still don't know all that i can talk about! ministry brought industrial to america! trent is awesome but he didn't start it here! try kmfdm, gravity kills, front 242, what about jello!, butthole surfers! they are all fucked up awesome shit!

  • @paledestroyer don't forget Skinny Puppy :)

  • I can't believe smart people argue about who is better between reznor or leeb. they are both excellent in THEIR OWN GENRES

  • @shamane999 well... sub-genres ;-)

  • When industrial and metal came together!

  • NIN = Industrial is like Lady Gaga = Marilyn Manson bleh!

The termed derived from Industrial Records label that Throbbing Gristle instituted. So surely anyone can call anything "industrial" because it "sounds" like the term.

Trent more than likely hated being labeled and it showed when he moved to more commercial "rock" territory.

FLA will more than likely be ranked as the last standing tried and true "industrial" band.

Even Skinny Puppy and Legendary Pink Dots never fit in with it...

  • lets say its techno-industrial, i am 38 i fucking know what i am talking about, OK?

  • @tunemx hahah ! love your way !

  • Didn't Ogre of Skinny Puppy call NIN "Cock Rock" once? I think this is more industrial than NIN. FIXED is great, but the rest is more like electro-rock.

  • Listen to FIXED and their will be no question about NIN being industrial. The truth of the matter is that FLA is not industrial either it's EBM. Throbbing Gristle and SPK is industrial. I'm 27 and I know what I'm talking about. I've been in the music scene for a while and have had the pleasure of opening for Funker Vogt, Project pitchfork and probably more bands soon. I love in industrial music and FLA is great but somethings about NIN are better

  • @lipstickgoblin Bollocks, NIN lost it after The Fragile and that album is still dodgy in places. FLA still are making great music from the day they started in 1985

  • @Scornocopia All I'm saying is how you gonna mess with a song like WISH from Broken or March of the Pigs from Downward Spiral. I hear you FLA is AMAZING!!!!!! but a lot of NIN stuff has diversity. I prefer the music to FLA but the vocals and lyrics to NIN.

  • @Scornocopia double-bollocks. Front Line lost it after Epitaph :p

I'd call both bands "industrial", and EBM a branch of that - like how Motley Crue and Slayer are both "metal". LOL at "industrial credentials" - I used to be in a side project of a side project of someone who used to be in Pigface. Does that mean I win? :D

  • @Scornocopia

Agreed. NIN has some awesome work, Trent was no joke. But when it comes down to consistency, FLA and Leeb take it. Front Line Assembly is industrial, they were some of the groundwork for what we have today. Front Line Assembly rules.

  • @Scornocopia "Bollocks, NIN lost it after The Fragile and that album is still dodgy in places." The Fragile is the Worst NIN Album. And With Teeth (Which Is after The Fragile) is way better than any album apart from Broken. I Like Every NIN Album Sept The Fragile and Parts of Year Zero.

  • @Scornocopia

BS I can't say I've heard everything from FLA but half the shit on here (excepting this song and a few others) is fucking boring and borderline ambient. OMGMACHINETHEMEWOWEE! Whatever.

I'd feel safe betting a good older, harder NIN song is way better than the best song from these guys. Every band loses it to more or less of their audience, but NIN is fucking spectacular when they're good.

FLA seems like, if you're a goth kid, they're your favorite. That doesn't make it good.

  • @LongDongSilver666 Rivethead/Industrialist/Cyber Punk NOT Goth. There is NOTHING Goth about Front Line Assembly. Yes Nine Inch Nails are spectacular when they're good especially on Pretty Hate Machine but Front Line Assembly came out 3 years before and influenced Nine Inch Nails a lot and to my view are far better.

  • @LongDongSilver666 Goth are you drunk? beats in Caustic grip can scare the shit out of you pants! I am sure yo are a bum boy!

  • @lipstickgoblin hahaha ! to me Funker Vogt is techno and not industrial ... FLA is more industrial than EBM, ... their juste few elements ... but that's all ! I know what i'm talking about, I'm 22 ! LOL , and in the musical scene too ... XD

I'm a huge NIN fan and I love FLA, but I will never compare these two groups ... so differents .... and NIN is kind of neo industrial, I think !

  • @lipstickgoblin lmao FLA is the heart and soul of industrial music.

  • @lipstickgoblin "I'm 27 and I know what I'm talking about." Did this crack anybody else [who saw the "Ain't It Dead Yet?" tour in their 20's] up?

Anyway, "Industrial" is now like saying: "Rock." Which is, pretty much, nothing. Arguing about it is pointless.

  • @lipstickgoblin What can I say that is only your opinion.

  • @lipstickgoblin I hate to flame, but you're pretty wrong about FLA not being industrial. You being 27 and very much interested in the scene does not mean you have it right. I'm 32 and have been listening to "EBM and Industrial" since I was 16. Does that mean I know better? Failing logic, kiddo.

Regardless of all of this, those bands you listed are all awesome, industrial, ebm or however you want to classify them, not that it matters.

  • @lipstickgoblin ive always considered fla to be industrial, although more as electro-industrial, as i heard more of their earlier stuff, as with most of these bands, had less metal guitars. saying that, i feel that fla has been the best at this type of collaboration of metal guitars, electronic beats and samples, effects, ect. except big chocolate remixes of suicide silence songs or commissioner stuff.

  • @lipstickgoblin FLA piss all over NIN sorry

  • This euphoric sensation is Liquid separation.... O_o FTW

  • NIN is industrial. I like both of them for different reasons. FLA is tight but a lot of it starts to sound the same. Trent is an amazing song writer. Have you ever heard NIN album "FIXED" it's the remix album to broken. It's very industrial and pretty damn awesome. FLA is da bomb though. This is my favorite album followed by Hardwired and Caustic Grip. I've seen them live and I will say Bill is old and tired now. Still great music though

  • @lipstickgoblin

    How Old Are You?!

NIN is not industrial music... It's glam rock... lol...

FLA - Godfathers of American EBM scene...

I think - you young EMO... Sorry for my bad english....

  • ... FLA is

  • yes, but mostly great vocal procesor...believe me he doesnt sound like that without those 20 effects he has turned on in his tc electronic LOL

  • great vocal

  • Miód na serce ; jeden z ciekawszych kawałków F.L.A. i wokal Billa bez " plejbekania " i tym podobnej ściemy ; cieszy również .

  • This song is so futuristic , saw them in 2007 in Montreal , it was unreal...

  • leeb is my god. to me, hes even bigger than trent fucking reznor.

  • Come on,everyone's bigger than Reznor!

  • Reznor certainly could learn a thing or two about excellency from FLA.

  • NIN is not industrial

  • Saw this tour live in Toronto...Favorite song off of Millennium!!!

  • Love the band and the song!

    But it aint live fucktards.

    It's an edited video!

  • I agree!!:) awesome live * much love *

  • Leeb is the man!

  • great

  • Love the group, nice vid

  • great

  • Jed Simon and his guitar sounds amazing !!! Just he could play much much louder. :P

  • the song makes me think of the elegance of machinery.

  • he has starscream voice- i love this song

  • Millenium, the best album ever.

  • I think Tactical Neural Implant was their high water mark, but Millenium is a very close second. I remember watching Hellraiser III on VHS after this album was released and wigging out when I heard the "down the dark decades of your pain... this will seem like a memory of heaven" quote. I still get a chill watching Falling Down after listening to this album.

  • behind hard wired of course.

  • This has always been one of my fav FLA songs. Am I right that this song is about freezing to death?

  • i think its just about that line you cross when you die. no matter how. but you could right. and i absolutely agree, this IS my fav song from FLA. although i must say the live version isn't even a tenth as good as the original.

  • Millenium is a great album... YEAH!!!

  • keep up, billy boy, keep up;]]

  • this world we live in is a fragile creation...AWESOME!

  • It is actually spelled "Separation." Spell check for f**k sake.

  • Mnemonic device: There is "a rat" in "separate."

  • Yeah! Guitars!

  • VERY GREAT TRACK !!!!

  • Uber song.

I posted this same song from one of their gigs I went too on my youtube page.

    FLA are genius.

  • I wonder if there is any videos with the band from artificial soldier? I still can't beleave they have been around since the mid-1980's!they still sound so new!!!!

  • Yes, It's right in front of you.

    Nastybyte has some.

  • yeah, she told me that she was working on some new ones, I haven't seen them yet.

  • FLA RULES!!!

  • It is most likely him since FLA and SYL co-produced Zimmers Hole.

  • and bugger me if that ain't fellow Canuck jed simon of strapping young lad on guitar!

  • Millennium is such an underrated album, the guitars work very well with the awesome harsh noise the band makes.

  • Nice! When I DJ I always try to throw this into the mix.

  • Bitchin'!

  • Cool. One of my favourate songs from the whole album. Thanks for uploading this, man. :-)
