  • that unit ur filming is pathetic. Eliots scouts really? dismounted cav=to poor to buy a horse to stupid to join the infantry. and farby as all get out

  • @24thvolunteer Hey go critiscize another unit.

  • We're actually a pretty awesome unit, and we do have a mounted portion.

Actually, it's not farby at all. Cavalry fought dismounted almost as much, if not more, than they did mounted. Truth was, their horses either couldn't be maintained due to supply shortages, or the simple fact that it was easier to hold off infantry on foot than it was on horseback.

  • @Roossell93 i have never, in all my years reenacting, seen an authentic, and correctly drilled, cavalry or dismounted cavalry unit. And I don't think I ever will. And also I'm aware of the fact they fought dismounted. That doesn't mean you do it correctly. They used proper infantry drill. And fought in rank or a skirmish line, which I say again, I've never seen a cav unit do correctly.

  • i would like to "enlist" with some reenactors

  • yeah its a lot of fun. there should be a reenactor group somewhere around were you are.

  • @Roossell93 i was there. but i was a yankee. but since i passed out cause of dehidration, i sat it out behind the confederate cannons.
