  • o ya and by the way he wrote it in arabic!

  • dude it says allah akbar at the begining and at the end so the guy that owns this thing is like muslim or arabic!

  • how did you arrange the leds on disc to make the words displayed so good?!

  • wow..unbelieveable..how could you do that!?

  • Good work on that, but the video ain't half annoying what with that wobble - next time secure it to the surface, should sound a lot less like a chainsaw!

I had a go at building a small POV display, it isn't that difficult working everything out on your own, except I ran into the proverbial brick wall when I wanted to ditch the 'onboard' battery in favour of a supply passed through the rotator spindle. Its difficult as hell and the battery weight balancing was causing insurmountable problems.

  • nice nice nice

  • Respect from Russia =)))

  • How did you provide the power to the LEDs?

Do you use surface conduct brush? or you have the power source on the rotating part?

  • powered them using a 9v battery which is mounted on the rotating disc...

  • I bought something almost exactly like this (but in a pen fan form factor) from an electronics store for $10

  • muy bonito! very nice and well done project!

  • ok now THAT'S COOL

  • noisy like a circular saw but nice..

  • fantastico

  • الله واكبر ... Allah bless you

    good job

    nice

  • espectacular

  • crazzyyy

  • yu must to put thank you like this thank you!!! Xd

  • How about putting 3 rows of leds on in rgb so you can create color?

  • how much for the schematic, because I'd rather use a 16f628.

  • 100 GBP

    Or Near Offer

    where are you located..?

  • Awesome project! How do you deal with wires while rotation?

  • hey,

the wires are on the circuit... which is mounted on the disc.

    cheers

    Mo

  • which microcontroller do you use? I guess that the power supply works with a battery.

  • yes indeed it does operate by a battery

    the microcontroller used was AT89C2051.

if you require the source code and the whole schematic layout with all the documentation. you can buy it from me. that is if you are interested.

    :)
