also the reference to journalists as hypocrites and opportunists, like sharks waiting to tear him apart. we all know thom has a love/hate relationship with the press. this song is a great example of thom's writing style. usually it's not meant to be taken literally, nor is it too abstract that you can't figure out what he's trying to say. a great, in-between kind of lyricist.

Let's get one thing straight... I'll agree that Creep (or anything on Pablo Honey, for that matter) is no match for the music Radiohead created later in their career, but Creep is not a terrible song. If it weren't for that song, Radiohead wouldn't have ever been given a chance by record labels. I must agree with thejugglenaut though, it really bothers me when someone says, "Oh Radiohead, they do Creep right?". What about Pyramid Song, Let Down, Nude or one of their other brilliant songs?

Played live this song is so much more attractive!!! I had no idea. There there and 2+2=5 are my absolute favorites of that album. Also people who havent yet heard the B-side of hail to the thief, YOU MUST check out "i am a wicked child" on youtube. It's absolutely brilliant, and i still find it sad why it wasn't a main publish but a B-side. But then again, this isn't the 1st time they published an absolute masterwork as second grade, lol.
