  • Why did Ryan retire?

  • I don't understand why everyone has to talk shit, Ryan is one of the nicest kids I knew growing up. He was in lions den wrestling since I first knew him in the 1st grade. Besides he rocked his opponent. No need to hold him to a higher standard because of his lineage.

  • huh?? I thought Ryan Shamrock was his sister

  • skinny ass...

  • i like how ken walked into the ring before he was supposed to because hes ken fricken shamrock

  • I thought Ryan shamrock debuted at cage rage? How many fights has he had? Why is he so scrawny. Kens never been a skinny guy and im sure he does some kind of weight training if he trains for lions den

  • @attestedplum MAYBE HE'S SKINNY COS HE CAN'T FIND THE KEY TO KEN'S ROID CUPBOARD.

  • stupid pussy limpdick

  • tuff bn Shamrocks kid and fightn. all the criticism and no respect

  • ryan looked really good, fast with good sub knowlege.... needs to work on his striking... great win for the kid (Y)

  • Ryan kicked ass

  • lol hes a no 1 and always will be..another plastic paddy

  • poor kid he cant learn bjj i guess ken wont allow him to learn fromthe gracies

  • @2submit wrong im an old charles gracie student, we have been cross training with the lions den for the last 6 years,,

  • ok thats great does ken study bjj directly also .. or his ego stands in the way just asking

  • i am curuis. which lions den do you cross train with and what den guys? thanks

  • Dude really needs to learn some shit from Frank and Ken.....So that guy is actually a real Shamrock? Did they say he was Shamrocks first born? Cus I know Frank and Ken are adopted. Weird how they look alike.

  • Lol whoever was his opponent sucked ass. He was just wildly throwing punches even when he was on his back. Way to burn your energy.

  • Is this the stick figure division that UFC doesn't televise?

  • No, no, no. I want to see Ryan Shamrock vs Ryan Ortiz

  • I want to see Ryan Shamrock VS Ryan Couture

  • Ryan Couture is in a higher weight class.

Ryan Shamrock fights at 135 lbs.

  • The kid's got some moves.

  • wow, i never thought i would be able to kick the shit out of ken shamrock's kid.

  • And you wouldn't...

  • i beg to differ. i'm thinking i'd knock him out in about 45 seconds.

  • Why don't you put up a video of one of your fights?

He would submit you in under 30 seconds.

  • Looks like another possible legend in the making! Go Ryan!

  • The kid has skills! I'm impressed. I think his dad should have retired years ago, now he is looked at as a joke to many people.

  • ryans normal weight is 100-115 pounds lol

  • must have gotten moms estrogen and not kens testosterone

  • lol, I was thinking the same thing

  • Ryan will bulk up as he gets older. A lot of big dudes are the guys the bloom late and grow on into their 20s.

  • Awesome, I look forward to a new shamrock to carry on the legacy. Ken, and Frank have both contributed so much to the development of MMA in the early 90's. In my opinion I feel the Shramrocks are up there with the Gracies

  • he's 5'9" and 135 lb according to ken shamrock's website

  • with ken as his dad you'd think he'd be a little bigger, 155-170, even at 18yrs old. it would be nice if he would be successful in carrying the shamrock name into the 21st century. ken and frank were great in their prime but the sport of fighting has evolved a lot in the past several years and sadly many of our 90's fighting heroes have been left behind including ken and frank. by the way, how tall is this kid? i saw a picture of him with ken, based on the pic he looks 5'8"-5'9"? am i right?

  • 132lbs

  • Awesome job, the kid is just like his dad always going for the submission never stops working. Good job kid.

  • Is he gettin' small? He needs to get big and do a grown mans job.

  • Nice first outing. Very good ring generalship. Once he puts on some size, he'll be even more fierce.

  • ken shamrock needs to feed his son..looks like a fuckin stick!

  • its light weight man hehe

  • ya but he should be like his daddy and get big. ken was built in his day..this boy is a stick compared to him

  • that was not a bad fight (i am surprised) nice "rock bottom" there Ryan on your first move.

  • But hes good just like the other shamrocks so far

  • I love the Shamrocks Franks one of my favorite fighters but i think in order for Ryan Shamrock to unleash his full potential he should go to a different team like Urijah Faber's camp or American Top Team.

  • pressuires on 4 ryan wen yur dad is a fighting legend yu cant let down

  • nace una leyenda, el hijo de Ken, q grande!!! es excelente, me imagino en unos años, aparte tiene mi misma edad, auqnue le falta gimnasio ,es muy larva

  • That was just his first fight. Give him more time to train, lift weights, gain experience, etc. hes still young with lots of potential. plus im sure he could beat anybodys ass since hes trained with his dad

  • Good for Ryan, he was my wrestling buddy in high school, and he still is reckless as shit. Proud of him kicking ass though.

  • I don't enjoy watching too much amateur mma, especially lower weight divisions.

Guys come out and swing for anything, good or bad and then spin like a top when they grapple on the feet. Swingin like that is great but they do it so recklessly like they are on the school playground, too anxious, I mean you are still trying to win a fight.

  • i thought he would be bigger, but what ever, hes a bad ass

  • i know ryan i went to his gf baby shower. haha

    his a chill guy

  • not everyone is good in there one mma fight

  • jez hes good

  • I bet he could beat his dad...that's sad...

  • i think you are a tard

  • Good performance overall - he showed wrestling, ground and pound and several submission attempts - aside from that moment shortly before the end it was a pretty one-sided fight.

  • Ken actually has 3 sons and one daughter from his first wife and 3 step kids from his current wife. Ryan might just be the first of many more of Ken's offspring to fight in MMA someday. What's really funny is that Ryan Shamrock was the name of his WWE "sister" back when Ken wrestled. A former stripper he dated. Wonder what Ryan (son) thinks about the storyline. LOL

  • Ryan looked excellent, dominated the fight except when he went for the leg lock, took a few shots, but he controlled the fight, kept the guy on his back, and hit him with some pretty decent shots, tried a few subs. i do agree that he needs to hit the weights like whoa, but he is only 132lbs, i think thats what they said... im impressed... i didnt even know Ken he had a son untill today. He's a work in progress, expect good things in the future for Ryan

  • Ryan looks good really dominated that fight some of these comments are crazy

  • I don't see what yall are complaining about. That was a great fight. If anything the opponent doesn't look pro. But as for Shamrock, he was doing submissions that are fairly difficult, especially when someone is hitting you in the face. The only reason the other guy could randomly escape is the fast pace they were going. Give the kid a break it was his first fight. I think he looked very pro. Of course not UFC level yet, but if i had to put my money on any amature...

  • great slam

  • this looked like a street fight between two guys who took a few MA classes back in the day..he's got a ways to go

  • very good video

    war SHAMROCKS!

go kid, kill em all, I'd like to see him punishing tito someday

  • considering he's had open access to top training all his life he didin't look as good as i'd expect him to be. but obviously he's a work in progress so we'll see

  • Hey, the kid is out there putting it on the line, going for submissions and going hard. So for that he gets props. I think he should really focus on getting good on the ground, do some tournaments, etc..... Then go into mma and see what happens.

  • That boy needs to hit the weights, maybe take some roids like his old man

  • Nice job, but how did Shamrock let that armbar slip? Daddy wont be too happy bout that!

  • that didnt look like a pro fight, well, he is just starting and just 19 years old, Im looking forward to see how he grows in the sport. I bet it's not easy to be ken shamrock's son.

  • damm ............bring on tito jnr

  • Was he fighting fred ettish?

  • the kid looks good, but his opposition looked very amateur.

Hope he keeps up the effort. If he can bulk up in the next few years he could become something.

  • The kid has game. Good job. Keep working on technique and don't bulk up so much.

  • Eyes on this career.

  • Not bad, young grasshopper. Not bad.

  • I think Ken's WWE days had some influence on that takedown. All it needed was the People's Elbow.

  • Good job i'd say.Don't want to offend the KEN fans but his son actually tried to use diff skills instead of relying on pumping weights. His son also looks to have some good cardio albeit the fight was short, again something KEn lacked.

With some great skill training i think his son has great potential.Get him off to ST.pierre's camp before it's nothing but roids and weights.

  • lots of potential he work the ring like ken youstoo do it when ufc started, he just needs stronger leg work ans he will be good plus hes young so he got lots of work to do but hes got plenty potential. another legend on the making

  • BJ Penn better watch out... lol jk

  • Nice armbar, but I feel his grappling is really lose. Not criticizing, as I have the same problem, but he doesn't put enough pressure down. A player with a moderate wrestling game would of foresaw too many opportunities to capitalize. Great takedown though!

  • His grappling is very sloppy. He needs to train with a good team, not the Lion's Den.

  • The Lion's Den is a good team dipshit...

He is just starting...he will grown and turn into a great fighter

  • Heavy hands for such a slim guy.

  • Bwahaha xD He uses the exact same setup for the heelhook like his father did ALWAYS in pancrase, funny thing.

    Much Potential, though.

  • impressive. most impressive.

  • he completely dominated that fight

  • yep total whitewash step up in oponent next time

  • Chuck gets more hot girls in a night, then you get in a lifetime. F* off.

  • @Sapexec chuck is cock smoking faggot u kno that right??

  • no he cant woop Chuck.....

but with a name like freakmebaby he can whip your fagot ass

  • @jasonjg989 chuck is a pussy

  • This kid looks good so far. Very strong for the take down. Great Armbar...anybody who doesn't see that doesn't know bjj. Great transitions except for giving up pos on the heel hook. Sloppy but powerful punching. Kids gonna be good, especially if metzger can help with the stand up.

  • Ref= Vernon "Tiger" White

  • Really? I thought he was bigger...

  • I think that he looked ok for his FIRST fight. He'll get better and the armbar didn't look sloppy. The way he went for it was textbook, but he had it locked in nicely and maybe could have finished it. Overall, I think he did well. You guys should give him a break. He's only 19 and was fighting his first fight. At least he had the balls to get in there and compete. Most people can't even say that much about themselves.

  • vitor belfort started at ufc at 19 but he was already a killer.. this kid is nothing..

  • So did Carlos Newton, but consider this. Vitor was training in boxing years before that. Vitor and Carlos were both training in jiu jitsu years before their debuts at 19. From what I've read Ryan Shamrock just decided not too long ago that he wanted to fight so he hasn't had as much training time by the age of 19 as some people. I don't care who your father is, just because your father is in the game doesn't mean you HAD to grow up training and competing. Just my thoughts.

  • what un ugly armbar.. very amatuer

  • well duh captain obvious he is an amatuer.

  • That heelhook was really really sloppy...

  • man he is thin

  • Whoever thinks this performance was solid is a fool. This submission attempts were absolutely amateurish. It was a bad armbar attempt, bad heel hook attempt; however, the guillotine wasn't bad. Ken's son must've been most of his lifetime smoking pot instead of training.

  • @Yelloke

He's 19 and went to college and you expect him to be like his father off the bat?

Go into the cage and get your ass whooped, you wont be running your mouth after that.

Either way, he still has more money then your sorry ass ever will.

  • Ken Shamrock's wife must be tiny cause his son looks like a featherweight.

  • actually, bantamweight (135)

  • I don't see how anyone can not be impressed with that! I was completely amazed and awed! The reason the other guy seemed so bad is because Ryan was so aggressive and quick to the moves he never gave him a chance to do anything. I thought he looked really really good. Like he was letting the guy out of stuff just so he could go to the next move and show his full repertoire.

  • Haha, that ref has a cast on his arm!

  • thats vernon white

  • For a first fight, he looked solid. Some of his submissions were sloppy, particularly the armbar, but what impressed me was he ever stayed in a bad position for long, and he always knew where he was heading next. After the armbar failed, he transitioned to top. After the heelhook failed he transitioned to a whizzer and nailed the guy. SO I give him massive props for keeping his cool and making smart choices in a first fight. That's rare. Some tune up on his technique and he'll go far.

  • His opponent was very game. Ryan is tiny!! Great job though.

  • You idiot, the UFC Superfight belt doesn't qualify as a "big event"?

  • He's also the 1st King of Pancrase.

  • ryan looks so whimpy he needs to go to the gym more lol

  • I think Ryan shoulda been able to keep that armbar in the beginning otherwise he did quite well

  • Ryan showed excellent form for a first fight shit and he won...i fuckin got choked out my first fight so kudos to RYAN get em killer!

  • Before you start sucking off the Lion Den's for Ryan's 1st "W", lets wait till he actually fights someone worth fighting. Josh has no skills. That fight look like 2 kids in a sandbox w/ Josh's behind the back headlock (sweet moves Josh).Ryan needs 2 ditch ken & go train w/ uncle Frank if he ever wants to be a champion. "Ken Shamrock is a Legend in his own mind". When has Ken Shamrock ever one a belt? Last I remember its Frank who was a UFC & Strikeforce Champ.

  • first king of pancrase, first ufc superfight champion...

  • Ryan got some good submission skills

  • first king of pancrase, first ufc superfight champion...2 times superfight champion

I guess your new to MMA Rocketlovely

  • bravo.

  • good for his first fight. definately nervous and anxious, but it worked for him. i do question the skill of his opponet though. and in time i think he will probably go up to either 155 or 170, maybe 185...he is only 5'9 so i dont see him goinghigher then that. then again randleman sometimes fights at heavyweight and is 5'10

  • steveco, its his first fight, give him a break. alright?

  • he needs some of his old mans steroids

  • Th kids new to he game give hm a chance, Jeez!

  • he did pretty good, but you could tell he was a little nervous.

  • Did they say 135 pounds!? Where did he get his genes from?

    blog . mmaAddictForums . com

  • Lol he could have finished that like 5 times during the fight. i am surprised he did not have much commitment to position of submissions. Those armbar and choke attempts could have been sealed no problem...

  • both of their first fights. Josh Besneatte looked lost. but i look forward to seeing ryan again

  • damn he is skinny as hell

  • thanx for sharing man
