In correct a massive solar flare can be the diameter of the size of the sun. But the ironic thing is since the earh magnetic field is changing it will be down the most in 2012. the field bufffered us from radiation. Like how Jupitor shields us from astroids and meteor hits. Mankind hasnt seen in his life time- how a Sun can will deliver its solar flare- when it is flaring the most.
