After his defeat in russia he was exiled by the french government to corsica I believe. Not too sure to be honest, but i know he returned from exile and ruled for another hundred days before the disaster at Waterloo where he was captured by the british and exiled to some island in the middle of nowhere.

@Arc9er Partially correct, except the end. Napoleon was not captured at Waterloo and Waterloo was not even the end of that war, a few minor battles taking place before the coalition captured Paris, including one crushing defeat inflicted by Napoleon upon the preussian army.

Subsequentely after the fall of paris Napoleon headed to the southwest of france, hoping to escape to america and settle down there. But the brits blocked that route, and so he decided to give himself up to the english.

There wasn't, one of the main reasons he left paris was due to the political climate there, rather than due to the coalition forces. After the defeat at Waterloo it was getting pretty dangerous and untenable being Napoleon Bonaparte in Paris. Just to avoid confusion

@andrian007 All the proof you need is actually in the game and in the man himself. Napoleon didnt start the war with the rest of europe, he was instead a product of it. Its not a question of bias, but of simply opening a history book. Tecnically Napoleon didnt declare war as such on anybody, as France was already at war with the rest of europe when he came to power, and the russian campaign was "tecnically" to defend poland from russian. Napoleon actually tried to make peace with them (cont)

It was also Talleyrand that was to blame for making them declaring war on him during the 100 day reign, Boney wanted peace

Napoleon is a trip to the good ol days of total war. Quality over quantity. Empire was too deep, you'd practically drown in it. So deep in fact, the devs couldn't even go halfway down to fix all the bugs. But napoleon, i've yet to even see a bug besides units clumping up beside a house in torino.

The battle soundtracks for Medieval 2 and Rome were better, particularly when you are in the thick of the battle, but I think the main menu music for Empire and Napoleon are much better to just sit back and listen to, they sound more epic I think, but admittedly a lot of the naval and land battle music doesn't engage you as much in the battle as Rome and Medieval 2 did.

@8l4 Napoleon Total War is good but there are some things I really like about Empire; that you can fight in several theatres of war and that new towns can be borne out of population growth. Makes the war global and surely that makes things more exciting?
