The song was written and performed as an answer to KMFDM "haters" who were becoming increasingly vocal about what they didn't like about KMFDM, although the song was intended to be funny and irreverent where it came to the band. It was Sascha and Co's. way of turning the negative opinion into something tongue-in-cheek.

@larryclone Chances are that he hated the mass exposure of it. That happens with a lot of bands, regardless of genre.

The song itself is a bit poppier than most KMFDM, but that's not a bad thing at all. Accessibility is key to bringing it new fans. I'm not an industrial fan by any means, but I skim the edges with bands like KMFDM and the oft-forgoten God Lives Underwater.
