  • My mother tress brown was apart on this group and Derek Olivia where are there clips pissed off

  • @danielledejean80 You’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It’s just common sense.

  • Hi Lamech - Everything is still on hold until I get full and complete disclosure (as you know, we've been waiting for over 31 years since my first request). No surprise, the fucking bastards are still keeping me crucified. Friday, January 13, 2012 (Common People Eternity), 1:03 PM (Earth-Eastern Standard Time)

  • They still got it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • carlito's way!

  • Very very nice uploading., So nice audio quality, sounds like big hi-fi stereo., clear video too., thanks for uploading this nice collection.

  • wauuu! igualito ke los de la Dalecio y la paquita jajaja

  • que show!

  • That's what all crowds should look like when performances are on point. Can't stand when artists/groups do so well and the crowd is boring as hell!!

  • The ZOO-B-DOO disco, Belle Vue Manchester in the 70s...Those were the days. Bliss.

  • hits de hits

  • They're lip-synching with live music. Your voice doesn't sound just the same as the record more than 30 (and close to 40) years later.

  • @ChazFrench i dont think they are i just listened to the original recording

  • the first disco song? Love it!

  • Man this still sounds awesome! And thats all that needs to be said about this piece of music, and by the way thanks for sharing this video.

  • one of them died in 92?

  • @BrooksRobby5 Chuck, their first and only hit was, "Rock the Boat." I know that freedom of speech is important, but along with it comes the freedom to practice responsibility; therefore, please feel free to practice it. Stupid out-of-the-blue comments like this demonstrate nothing more than a lack of wisdom and education. You need to find something to do with your life.

  • sad these 2 guys passed away

  • @rar6178 Wow! I did not know they were dead. That is sad. Do you know the nature of the situation?

  • If they could do that 1970s then they could do it again

  • still making me dance

  • Amazing vocals 30+ years later. Again, AMAZING.

  • im sorry Justin nur name isn't on my list

get off my boat u gay

  • 2 people can't rock the boat

  • I read that music historians consider "Rock the Boat" to be the very first disco song and it was released in 1974. Had a somewhat different beat and instrumentation that classified it as "disco." And Casey Kasem says so too so it must be true!

  • Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber can't rock the boat.

  • You are right !! It kindda have a Salsa flavor :-)

    Really, really good song.

  • I love the way that peole sing loder than them !!!! What a popular song it was...and still is.

  • Now I really know the meaning of "Rock the Boat", yeai.......!

  • This is going to sound weird, but Wendell Anderson, the singer in the gold jacket has been staying with my family for about a month while recording with my dad who is his old friend. Im only 16 so this is hilarious to see him on a huge stage.

  • I'm sorry to hear of Benard's passing R.I.P. Handsome

  • @hidoll22 The main singer you mean? Not the old man in the right, right? Sorry to hear that. Very handsome and great singer as well.

  • Disco, Pop or R&B, bottom line - one of the best songs ever to play on AM/FM radio.

  • R.I.P St. Clair Lee. We love & miss you more than you could ever know. :-(

  • that's the way it should be done ...... the music and the vocals sound like the very track, and not 2 keys down because the singers are older.

  • ROCK THE BOAT BABY!

  • Gorgeous, beautiful FUN music. Words that you can understand. A beat that you can't help BUT dance to. Wonderful music. WONDERFUL GENERATION. 70s and 80s music. The era of the heart and soul of the term 'music'.

  • Just good, well-presented music, plain and simple. Dignified, good voices and harmony, good use of analogy....What more can you ask for?

  • According The American Top 40. This song is considered the first Disco song. The original singer and voice of "Rock The Boat" died in the 1990.

  • This is a pop song from 1974 not Disco!

  • I love this song! I have it on a 45 from back in the day! They still have the groove!!! I wish more groups from the 60's and 70's would come back out and perform and BLOW ALL THESE GROUPS THAT MAKE NOISE TODAY OUT OF THE WATER!! and show them what REAL music is.

  • Love this when was this performance looks quite recently?

  • say id lick to no where you got the no's job

  • WAY BEFORE DISCO!!!!!!!!!! It's difficult to say how deep this song is inside me and how much I love it. Thank you Hues Corp. & to whomever is responsible.

  • @kall4less

I'm sorry, but they were one of the DISCO groups from back in the 70's.

  • @bloss63 You may be right. From Wikipedia-... there is disagreement as to what the first disco song was. Claims have been made for Manu Dibango's "Soul Makossa" ('72), Jerry Butler's "One Night Affair" ('72), the Hues Corporation's "Rock the Boat" ('74) and George McCrae's "Rock Your Baby" from '74. The 1st article about disco was written in Sept. '73 by Vince Aletti for Rolling Stone. In '74 NY City's WPIX-FM premiered the first disco radio show. en. wikipedia. org/wiki/Disco

  • I love this song and will always love this song. It is part of me.

  • 30 years later, screw you Frank Rizzo!

  • Awesome performance by the team. Look how old is this song, performing same team after a long long long tome without any error.... Love u. We all love you.

  • There is only one original band member there (guy on right) , The original singer died in the 90s. Dont forget this song was brought out 35 years ago, the singer present now is probably 45ish although he sounds just like the original singer.

  • I'm a little kid all over again hearing this

  • The music still sounds perfect! And live! The voice performance is good and brings nice memories from my prom in 1974!

Thank you for making me travel back to my fifteens!

  • i love this music its old but they sound so good for me they will always be a live . I am from the 70's all the oldies are mine i love songs,

  • i love this music its old but they sound so good for me they will always be a live .

  • Great Song... Always :)

  • Are these guys great or what like 30 years later a lot heavier but sound the same. Man that's some magic.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • Sis..Mary..this 1 for u..

a great clasic fm the 70`s

  • esta cancion es para recordar como nos enamoramos con mi eduardo, inolvidable donde la escuchamos bien juntitos

  • Considered the very first Disco song!

There are a couple of Barry White hits that might be able to squeeze in there.

  • sorry to tell you but that is not a salsa twist it is more like a Calypso Soca twist

  • Oh the summer of 1974!... So many memories! Ahhh One of favorite songs on the radio that summer!

  • Who is the lead vocalist here?

  • Check out the 2010 cover version of "Rock the Boat" by Hayley Wilkinson (MdDS to Music) - it's fun, educational and in a good cause.

  • This is SOOOOO GOOD! I listened to this in London about 34 years ago (or so). I WISH WE COULD GO BACK IN TIME. Things then were good. Now, life is HORRIBLE.

  • YES!!! I think I saw this preformance when I was a kid. Truly a great jem! Historical too beacause this song is known as the first disco hit.

This song was in the movie "Carlito's Way"? This was a mistake! Putting a good and historical disco hit in a movie that sucks is a big no no!

  • Fleming Williams, R.I.P. Thank you for this gem, brother!

  • I cry to think that those days have vanished. One of the greatest musical masterpieces of all time. After wearing out my 45, I am ecstatic we have the digital format which allows me to play this song over and over and over without wearing it out. Those precious days when we danced away, music ruled, and terrorists were slime under rocks. Oh, what memories!

  • @musicollector1975 Oh, but my 2 durable orange 45s HAVEN'T worn much at all! It STILL sounds better on the turntable than digitally. I need to watch the label spin around and listen to it more physically amplified from the vinyl. And I HAVEN'T forgotten how HUGE a hit it was back when I was 9 in '74. I'm STILL as slender and AS rhythmic as they back then and try to move about as majestically as they did.

  • did the brothas switch bodies over time or what!?!

  • @DAWJESARETEE4

The brothers and sista aged gracefully. They still got soul in them.

  • cool!!!!

  • Yes, Yes !

  • I've always loved the guy with the head band. Sexy eyes he has

  • Beautiful song...

  • has a bit of a salsa twist to it....

  • @bbdowns124 its because disco music influence is from soul, funk and salsa music.

  • @bbdowns124 You know, I'd never thought that. But you're right. I think it's the beat from the high hat.

  • Always brings a smile to my face!!!! This tune and George McRae's (sp??) ROCK YOUR BABY . . . two BIG hits from one summer!!!!! Great stuff!!!!

  • They sound pretty good 30 something years later. Great vid..

  • recuerdo aver esuchado un cover de esta cancion, pero la cantaban tres jovenes de pelo largo y rubio ?¿??

    quien la sabe

  • Pure, unadulterated joy! Probably the best disco song ever - it's really great art. Such a gift to us all, this song is.

  • much appreciation from this '73 kid...can u dig it? :) great post.

  • esta es una cancion realmente muy buena, excelente

  • Que maravilla ¡¡¡¡¡

  • what year is this?

  • yep

  • gracias :-) this is soooo nice!!!!!!

  • Aunque la voz principal , no es la misma, los coros y la musica suenan igual que hace tres decadas. ¡Felicitaciones!!!
