yeah i have the V8 on my Core I5 2500K and im getting idle temps of 30 C much cooler. I don;t get anything near 80 C for full load. So something about his setup i s not right. He probably doesnt have enough airflow in his case.
It's just hard to believe ur h50 had temps over 90C , I have a i5 2500k overclocked to 4.7ghz and using prime 95 for 24hrs the temps only got to 68C max. The overclock I used was from PCwizkids channel. It must just be a bad item u got cause my h 50 flat out rocks. It's in a coolermaster haf 912 case also just in case u was wondering
Everything he says he checked was related to the FAN... Did he ever think that the water block may have needed to be re-seated, That's happened to me before... If the heatsink isn't completely flat and level on the CPU you are gonna get high temps
@1974dragonkiller that doesn't matter... He is t looking for optimal results he's looking for a comparison between the two... As long as he tested both coolers under the same conditions it's fair. If he applied the paste for 2 minutes on both units and used the same paste on both units (no matter it's quality)
your test is flawed from the start cause before you get optimal temps on a cpu cooler you need to let the thermal paste set for 2-3 days not 2min and the type of thermal compound you use is vital also
just a heads up i have a h70 and have installed it a couple times , each time i install my h70 the temperatures differ by 5 degrees i found if you load it up on thermal paste and very very evenly tighten it down it works best
got mine* / i recommend you look up more into overclocking, it also important that you add in your motherboard spec / ram / and case and thermal paste "i recommend MX-4 or shin estu x23"
I got V8 CPU cooler on i7 930 but its temps is 45 to 47c idle. ITS AT STOCK SETTINGS.!!! ...I used MX-2 paste . What paste did you use and how did you apply it? My case is a HAF 932 .
@civixboi dude 1.344V is too high for 3.4GHZ try lowering it to 1.22-1.26Vcore. or just leave it all default then OC it to 3.4GHZ and disable all cpu features except SPeedStep.. my i7 930 is running at 4.024GHZ @ 1.344Vcore stable
@firetruckracer What are you running and what are your temps? Please do a video so we could see what you're doing and to help the rest of us out. And so I know where I F'd up. Thanks.
@firetruckracer By the way it sounded like, I thought you had your cpu overclocked. But since you have it at stock clocks, your temps don't mean nothing to me. Sorry.

He says that he had bad temps when using the H50 but also he has to take in count that the ambient temp in the room and how good your computer tower has good airflow, I would have to disagree with his results. ambient temps in all rooms should be 65 in spring and summer time seasons but winter should be about 68 to 70 in winter. Note that your voltage are little too high for O.C at 3426.27 Ghz. You have it at 1.344V but it should only have it at 1.27V or 1.250V
When I watched one of your videos for the first time, I was like... Oh crap, here comes some ghetto business. But I was totally amused by your videos man. Pro!
i am not sure what is going on with your h50 but i have a i7 920 overclocked at 4ghz and at full load it tops at 64c somthing must be wrong with that h50 or somthing wow.good luck

It didn't perform better because you don't know what you are doing...I have and E8400 @ 4.0 and my load temps are around 50 C with an ambient temp of around 20 C. Maybe the paste is not enough to keep up with the heat and can not properly cool the processor or there is not enough contact between the cooler and the processor?
by the way, your temps with the V8 also seem high. I run my i7 920 @ 3.8 GHz with a V8 and AS5 paste and I get 33-38 C idle and 58-65 C load, and thats after a day of running at full load. I definitley think theres something wrong with the way the coolers are being mounted, as the temperature increases dramatically after 30 minutes of full load. I understand the 860 runs hotter than the 920 but the huge increase in temp under full load seems abnormal too me.
@guitarmaster199 Yeah. I figured out that my vcore was waaaay too high. LOLz. For some reason, my board was defaulting the vcore higher than it should. Now I'm sitting nice at 70c at 100% load at 4.0GHz with my vcore at 1.28volts.
I had the same issue with my H50 so I turned the fans around like Corsair wants and found Fan Boost option in my Bios for the pump and it fixed the bad temps. I should of figured it was the pump when touching the water tubes were freaking hot.
You should get a different thermal paste that corsair paste is terrible and you used it before re coat it with some new paste that should not happen try the tuniq tx-3 paste

I have my i7 920 stable at 4.0 ghz. Mayby you should exchange yours for another, btw you did set the fan the radiator is attached to as an intake right?
Nice video! But do you really need to go that high with your vcore for 3.4ghz? I can run 3.4 ghz with the stock cooler and get about 88C in full load and the vcore is 1.22
Yeah. But every time I lowered the vcore, my system would either not boot or it became unstable. Not sure why. It maybe from other settings in the bios. I'm still messing around with the numbers trying to get my temps down.
@DJBACON8D Wow...your VCore is way too high for such a small OC. I'm running an H50 and i7 920 @ 4.0GHz and my idle core temps are at 36C. My core load temps are low 70C while running LinX. You are either not putting it on correctly or your component is defective.
@PCtechtips101 Really easy. If I had the right cpu cooler, I could take it all the way to 4.0GHz with no problem. Which I hope with the new one I ordered, it will let me take it to 4GHz..
It sounds like user failure not corsair h 50 failure.
