  • Hell ya!! Why can't sexy guys dance like this in the USA

  • very nice!!

  • I love this video!!!!!!!!! Pure MASRI feeling!!!

  • egypt is #1

  • 5 starsssssssssssss

  • If that's a bit hesitant to dance hmm...really you're great!

  • This is what I consider true bellydance---a dance of the people, real people, a dance that expresses the Middle Eastern culture, their heritage, their way of life. Thank you for such a wonderful video, Tarik. :)

  • justttttttttt fantastic !!! masr meya fil meya !!

  • Very cool!

  • suwarro ye sufi dance nahi hai, ye kutto ka dance hai, sufism ye nahi sikhata, kamino ye jhuti baate pehlaana chodo

  • makes me want oum ali....i love my hussain

  • It looks like you were having a good time over there. You definitely look like an Egyptian. The lady signer also was good too

  • @gent491 the singer was not a lade looooooool :D it's a man but it's a kind of song that i don't like ^_^ but it have fans in egypt like the rap in the usa

  • ...although the sleeveless shirt a bit too much lol but nonetheless, always nice dancing. well done.

  • This is actually the style in Egypt right now. I bought that shirt in Cairo the year before.

  • awesome dance indeed!

  • Thank you

  • i think she is right. There is a huge gender discrimination in middle east and this is not new. I dont think Tarik -as a person who knows- should mention different assertions. It's really quite important to state the facts here because there is a lot of suffering (and please, just because some women are able to dance it does not mean that the suffering is not there- last, your analogy with Greek women is extremely unfortunate because there was no real discrimination against women ever in Greece

  • Hi Sergio, Tarik here. God, you pull up something I said a whole year ago...okay. I don't know what Modern Greece is like for women but any history book will tell you that with the exception of Spartan women, life in Greece was VERY restrictive for women. good women were confined to the genecium on the second floor of the hose and needed to veil in public and even then, they needed an escort.

  • @Jamaicanboi1967

you need to be confined to the genecium.

  • Ya Tarik, I lovvveeee you! So glad I subscribed to this!! Can't wait to see you in Jan...

  • hey there you know what i want to see? egyptian guys doing like lebanese depke. i am egyptian/american in chicago and there are alot of felesteeni here and all i here from them is how the egyptian guys cant dance depke. lets prove them wrong! can you make one? pleeeeease! i wanna prove to them we are universal! thanks

  • What a strange thing to say to an Egyptian. No they don't do Debke and they also don't do Flamenco because THEY'RE EGYPTIANS. Debke ISN'T an Egyptian dance. There are some Lebanese and Palestinians who think that the whole Arabic speaking world is Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Its just plain ignorant of them not to realize that Egypt and the rest of North Africa has their own UNIQUE cultures. Be proud of who you are and what makes YOU unique.

  • obviously you didnt understand what i ment. i know masry ppl dont do depke its suri, felesteeni and labnani thing. i just ment as a way to show we can do it. and i am very proud of being egyptian thank you very much. didnt have to take it personally

  • I'm not mad at you habibti. I'm just saying what you need to tell people when they say such ignorant things to you. And yes, there are many Egyptians who CAN, if they want to, do a Debke. Check out some of Karim Naggi's videos.

  • can you tell me the song at the beginning of the song please, it sounds like sad el saghloul. Lover your videos

  • That's moulid by Saad il Sughir

  • bravo ! bravo !

  • Man your dance is not femenin ,not to male neither, its just perfect,it has rythm and armony in acordance with the melody of the music.for me it was perfect.

  • Nefer

  • NICE, REALLY NICE FOR A GUY.

  • This is in a mosque? Called Al Hussain mosque? Why is their music and dancing? Doesnt that go against Islamic teachings?

  • Read what is written carefully. Its in a coffee shop BEHIND the mosque, not in the mosque.

  • Ok. Upon first reading, I did not realise that it was in the coffee house. Thats a relief.

  • I may be a little crazy, but I'm not stupid. Besides, why in the world would people be drinking coffee and smoking shisha in a mosque....... unless there's some new sect I don't know about! :-D

  • lol, new sect you dont know about? Ahhh I was going to ask the same thing. I didn't even realise the shisha and coffee. Yalla Nevermind, I understand now whats happening

    TakeCare :-)

  • maash allah thats really good dancing !! nice to see a man doing it instead of the women !

it makes it all bout the dancing not about something else unlike when some of the women do it

  • Thats was really cool, looked like alot of fun! Wish I was there too, we would have mash up d place! lol

  • ciao rais.amel eh?ya tabib

  • how old are u?i m 29years old,i work in italy,u in egypt?what are u doing when you are not dancing?

  • a muslim can divorce

  • ciao rais,i am a roumanian girl who lives in italy about 8 years,i like very much how you dance.are you married?

  • DIVORCED! :-D

  • I love the way the crowd responds to you...you are gfreat dancer Tarik!!!:-)

  • nice dance really :)

  • Hey Tarik ...

Good Job!! You really know how to dance, and somehow manage not to make it look girly!! lol..

Every summer I go to Egypt but I never see this when I go to Hussain ..

    Bravo 3aleak ..

  • This is a little ahwa behind Hussain mosque on the left side. You might not neccessarily see people dancing unless you hang out all night there. The folks there know me so they insisted that i get up. If you want to see people dancing go to the felucas on the corniche across from the Hilton. Get there around 9 or 10:00 and just hop from boat to boat

  • You know what .. I just might. I am going to Egypt next month.. and I can't wait to see all that ... Thanks hun

  • Definately go. The felucas are fun and only cost 2 pounds for a trip, so you can just have fun going from boat to boat all night long.

  • Do you live in Egypt? I am an egyptian.. and I had no idea about all these sites and things in Egypt ...

  • No I live in Jersey city, but I live in a baladi part of town in Egypt when I'm there, Ezbekeya and my buddies they know all the cool spots. These places are where the real local people hang out, not the stuck up folks, but that's where you have to go to experience this stuff. It's not with the upper class crowd that just likes techno or Egyptian top 40s.

  • I want to see this Clip..

    watch?v=npYTMNc2BmI

  • Nice clip. I liked the costumes in the opening scene. That's the way dancers dressed in the old days. I'd love to see someone do the same thing using real Oriental dance instead of Ballet though. I think it would be really great. It would reflect the real spirit of the Egyptian people.

  • hey wuts wtih u 2 arguing lik tat y you not u 2 jus be nice to each oter verrrry good is tat u 6969aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lol good dance lov it so tell me wuts up wit diz u an cristiaos chick

  • at least she thk cristiano ronaldo iz cute and sexxxi me too

  • I know she is your friend, but unfortunately she was rather insulting to me for no reason. She made a nasty comment on one of my videos and so I called her out on it just to make an example of her. Understand, its not that she didn't like my dance. I don't expect everyone to like me but I do expect to be treated with respect because I give respect. It's no problem I'll be blocking and deleting her comments.

  • nice dance i think it waz intesting,do wut u pleeez,u no? c ya

  • Thank you.

  • Alf Mabrouk Tarik !!! real and authentic feeling and atmosfaire, thank you for sharing

    maria aya

  • Thank you for sharing your dance. It was so fluid, natural and joyful. It is nice to see the dance in its regular social setting. That is something we in the US do not get to see much. I hope that one day I can visit Egypt myself, but for now, you have given me a little window into your world.

  • Little kids and the old folks are the most fun to watch! :-)

  • Don't they stone these type of guys in there?

  • No because this is the way all Egyptians dance there. This is simply the native social dance of the country. Its not what you think and the reality of the country and the people is very different than the media driven fantasy of knuckle dragging terrorists. You need to go there and spend time with the local people to know who they are and what they are about.

  • It's so very cool and natural and reminds me of my time in Cairo! I wish there would be more such videos here!

  • I'm working on it :-)

  • Brother can dance!!!!!

  • Yallah!! Now that's what I call dancing, may God bless you.

  • Wow, you dance like a masri! Nice job!

  • I think after all those years of haning out in baladi areas, something finally rubbed off! ;-) If you want to see the real thinh, you have to go to places like Shubra, Husain, Muski, El Ezbekiya. They don't got a lot of money but they got plenty soul!

  • this is one of my favs, ever. real and improv. good job :)

  • I love watching you dance. I agree, thank you for showing clips of their culture. What is that piece of music??

  • Love the dancing. :)

May I ask what is the name of the song?

  • I have no idea, sorry.

  • thank you for sharing ! it' very nice :-)

  • this was very natural and most of all this man danced the bellydance moves in a proud and more masculine way, his hands and arms were very nice. Lovely ! shame when i was Han El Khalil I only got to have coffee and shisha but sadly no dancing.... maybe next time

  • You have to go to the little coffe house behind Husain mosque on Friday night and be perpared to sit a long time. Eventually someone gets the spirit to dance, however, I can't guarantee I'll be there. If you want to see the young guys party, you have to go to the felucas across from the Hilton and just hop from boat to boat

  • thanks for the instructions.. is this you dancing here? I am very impressed..you dance like an Egyptian.

  • Yep guilty as charged. Its me, but I was really holding back because I don't like to be the center of attention when I'm off stage and also, because its a situation like that, you don't want to go all out like a professional. However its a nice place to experience the less commercial side of things.

  • thanks for showing this part of the culture.

  • You're welcome. Check out my other videos, especially the interviews, they're really insightfull

  • wonderful!!! yes, i understand the fun of dancing and when u r doing a show.. when time allows, will come back to your vids.

  • if you can get Fifi Abdou to dance with you i think i might buy your videos and show my kids and freinds.. :D :P

  • stupid , stupid , stupid. he must be high on shisha or the local marijuana.

  • ????What's so stupid about dancing and having a good time? Are you sure you're replying to the right video?

  • lol!! i think so.. relax

    easy ok

  • hahahaa! Nesma3 Salam le dowal el khaleeg! Where'd you tell these people you're from?? This is really natural and heartfelt dance. I love it, thank you for posting!

  • Jamaica, they keep insisting I'm from the Said. I figure if Egyptians can love Regge and Salsa, then why can't a Jamaican love Baladi and Shabbi? :)

  • Great job!

  • really good, Tarik, there is a Party feeling!!!

    I like it!

  • I love your dancing here tarik, really natural

  • tahya how r u ? where r u your dance?

  • You're a darling angel!... Thanx a very lot!!!...

  • u remind me of my brother when he dances :)

  • gameeeeeeeeeed ya basha hilwa awe

we nesmaa ahla salam lel khlig

  • YA MAMALY!!! IZZZAYAK AKUYA?

  • tmam ya afndem

  • What do you mean my heart? That the religion laws don't apply at night or that the restrictions are just for their outfit?

I had affairs with Egyptian men - i adore them - and i wonder sometimes if they were to end in marriage how should i behave in their country?

  • The dress has nothing to do with their ability to assert themselves. True its a more conservayive society than in the west, but that doesn't mean that every woman is being oppressed. In the local areas, a woman can often times assert herself. Just think of traditonal Greek women. Conservative dress, but they don't take any crap from anyone.

  • The scene seems so strange, these women in black convicted to have their body in prison to look at a man whose praises the freedom through his body, dancing like a liquid fire. Have you ever asked them how they feel exactly about the prison of their bodies?

You are gorgeous, also in your everyday moments.

  • Prison, baby you have no idea who these women are. Believe you me if they're in prison they got the keys. You should see these prisoners later in the evening when they got up to dance! No shrinking violets these women!

  • You were working it honey! You're musical interpretation always astounds me :-)

  • Wow that was quick! Thanks :-)
