I have so much respect for this man, and I absolutely love his songs. Growing up, I didn't really know of him or his music much, except of some stories i'd heard from my mom about how he used to be close friends with my great grandfather. And then one day as I was flipping through some channels, I caught a song of he's called ' Sarzari Chapana ' on an Afghan TV show and instantly fell in love with him and his music and for the first time felt a sudden pride for my country.

Ustad Rahim Bakhsh was a true Ustad but you can't even compare him with Ustad Sarahang, because he was something beyond all classical singers in the world.

If you had asked Ustad Bakhsh if Ustad Sarhang had more knowledge in music than him, then he would not have doubted and said that Ustad Sarahang knows more thann any Ustad in the whole world.

During his last trip to Allahabad School of Music, in order to show respect for the great Ustad Sarahang, Indian female Ustads and students of the school lined up and bowed their heads furnishing the path to the stage with their hair so that Ustad Sarahang could walk over them.

If we come back to knowledge... there was no human being on the earth who had so much knowledge like Ustad Sarahang. No indian, no paki only ONE Afghan.

Mohammad Rafi wasn't even close to the knowledge Ustad Sarahang had. He was the king of ghazal singer and Ustad Sarahang was the Master of Classic.

And you say he has "only" medals, Pleas tell me how do you get medals? Look at this video and read the information at the right. He sang this raga in a competition and won over Bade Ghulam Ali.

I have never took up that because that is irrelevant. But as far as I know he only traveled to India, Russia and Pakistan. He did only live to 1983 and there were not so many Afghans abroad of Afghhanistan at that time so they could call him for concerts.Ustad Rahim Bakhsh, was mashallah given a long life untill 2002, wich made it possible for him to travel to the places where afghan's wanted to listen to his beautiful voice.

As you said that you relative of Usad, I would lik eto download some of his song but with qualitiy sound, there are many song of him but they have nt well uploaded. You ask where Ustad Sarahang's family is. His son Ustad Eltaf Hussain is living in the US and he was educated in Patiala Gharana, the biggest Nort Indian Classical Music University.

Ustad Sarahang's nephew, Ustad Sharif Ghazal, also went to Patiala and is now living in Germany.

If you know who Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali is... he gave the Masters title to Ustad Sarahang at the age of 25. He sang in the Darbar in Kabul and all musicians where schocked for his knowledge.

Please don't compare these two when it comes to knowledge about music.
