  • @KLFD29743 I really understand how you feel. Whenever I listen to Ayinla I get completely carried away. Last time I was at home people couldnt understand why I was going about looking for Ayinla's music to buy. I do like other apala as well, but Omowura is different. Special thanks to yormeey, EgbaAlake, planetolusola and grooVemonzter. Ile ola yin ko ni di ahoro!!!

  • God bless your hands yormeey

  • All the way from the Harvard Yard, I say a big THANK YOU for posting this unique music. I guess I am now growing old because I used to loathe this man and his brand of music but when I recently heard it after all these years, I almost cried because of the strong memories it brought . Needless to say, I have not stopped playing it since. Thanks so much.

  • @xythinker I can empathize completely with your sentiments. I felt that way longtime ago and ever since I do not listen to any other Yoruba music but Ayinla's. It is not usual for me for me to find excuse in going to Nigeria but with the primary intention to go trolling and searching for Ayinla's music. My wife can't understand why I am so singularly mindedly focused on one particular artist... I tell her it is inexplicable!

  • @KLFD29743 You are right, you got to listen to Ayinla O attentively to appreciate his command of words (sometimes in funny English) and his confident presentation.

  • Check out the "Shekere" sound at 2:12...Oh My gawwwd! I doubt if you can ever get a computerized reproduction of such quality musical instrument, it's just classic!

  • "Iyawo de! Omo onigbese tofe jelerun...Eni wole won wole oro..Iya tobi L'ojo daju daju!!"

  • Yormeey, e se pupo. This is oneof my favorite songs of ALL time, Genius! I particularly enjoy the playful lyrics, albeit it's sometimes condescending of his nemesis. I grew up in Ota, close enough to Oke Olumo so I am very familiar with his music & history. I remember Killington Ayinla being a big fan of Omowura. - Are Ona Kakanfo - San Francisco, CA USA

  • People in netherland are also enjoying it .You are too much "LANG LEVEN" voor jou

  • Does anybody Know the name of this album? I am trying to purchase it. Thanks!!

  • @ola4boy It's call '25 x 40'

  • Ayinla and his elegbes can speak english too . . . they are ready for london or america anytime ..lol

    I love the lyrics!!

  • Yormeey, u a d best material as far youtube is concerned. Pls kindly upload that of KENERY FATHER ORLANDO OWOH.

  • classic

  • this is the best song

  • The man was a genius.

I was up until late yesterday trying to research Ayinla's life. How old he was when he died, how big he was, what happened to his band? All I could find is that he was stabbed in a bar altercration.

Can you kindly shed light on his life for me please. I do not want you to go to too much trouble. A brief idea will be appreciated.

    Ese pupo.

  • Thank so much for posting the Omoruwa videos. I was eight when I first visited Nigeria and the 25*40 song was always on Radio O-Y-O. I fell in love with the song without understanding the words.

  • This is great news. I've never heard a song of Egun Magaji for the past 25 years. Yomi U are great. Wa pe laye

    Kudos.

  • R.I.P. Egunmagaji Akogun Apaye o di gbere o di tianrere o darinako o tun d'oju ala - Yormeey thanks very much for this

  • Big up Yormeey, big tunes are go on in Dallas, Texas. Thanks. This music makes me remember my time in Egba.

  • Hamm!I need you ppl help here:from(5:50 to 6:11)25 and what makes 1000?Or I´m too dull dont think so.?

  • Lol..he say "25 times(X) 40" which as he rightly said, equals 1000.

  • Thanks!!

  • thanks for the great music God bless

  • @yormeey KAYODE SALAMI & EMMANUEL ODENUSI,both were Recording Engineers @ Phonodiscs and EMI respectively.Odenusi also worked extensively with FELA ANIKULAPO.In addition to his Band members, these were the people Anigilaje referred to as the brains behind him.Not to forget his indefatigable producer,Alhaji Taoreed Adedigba.

  • yap scarcely audible....but nice old school.thank a lot.

  • ...no partisanship here. Apala music have been recorde for all the Yorubas and non-Yorubas as well.

... listening to the music, my whole body is reflecting a sign of goosebumps. Apala music is salutary, which makes it very difficult to find something similar in our present generation. I am fascinated, enthralled and captivated...there are no other words to vindicate this enthusiasm! Keep on posting... thank you family!
