  • Dang....

How could anyone work wearing that many layers???

  • Wow...

any airline that even suggested something like this would cause a fire storm today.

  • not the Mary Wells on My Guy fame then? ha ha

  • It was after this that Braniff airlines had more male passengers. ;)

  • Are you guys serious?

  • hot damn. That's crazy. Historically, really interesting though ahahha

  • At risk of being a geographically idiotic American I think Amsterdam is in Denmark and that seems to be a great place to save up for a piece of ass. When I fly there I will enjoy offending the stewardess by calling her a stewardess-one of the latest things that has pissed me off per our conversation(no relation to this video). Take care.

  • @socialistcontainment At the risk of giving you more info than you need but Amsterdam is merely the capital of holland, not of Denmark; it is however famous for its red-light district with women behind windows in the streets solliciting you, free cannabis in coffeeshops and the rest of the 'pride' of dutchmen, hahaha.

--Thnx, it was good talking to you; take care.

  • @yamejanakaratoprak I always got confused with the Netherlands loosely being called Holland, and its citizens being called the Dutch, which is were I confuse Denmark with the 'D' into the mix sometimes, at least when I am drunk. Think I might remember from now on. Thanks.

  • @socialistcontainment Well they both are germanic languages so no mix up there but i can see the confusion. Just remember the plentiful stock expressions involving the dutch; dutch courage, dutch uncle, going dutch, a dutch treat, etc, hahaha. But at least you didnt misplace it by a margin of a whole continent; Denmark is close enough. You wont find a European naming all 52 states for that matter. Anyways, on your tour of europe, be sure to get drunk on Belgian beer; it is the best.

  • @yamejanakaratoprak Will try to remember the 'plentiful stock' dutch expressions. I spent two weeks in Munich one summer and have never tasted beer that good since. If I hear you right, the US has 50 states and you might be 'overthinking' as I was. I'm thinking I might be going to Belgium next time I jump the puddle. Although, most Americans are a little freaked out since that 'Hostel' movie came out(joking). I bet those Danish girls are hot though. Peace.

  • The days...

  • Those hot 1960s 'girls' and today's old, homely attendants are the same women! They benefited from the anti-age-discrimination laws. This is what you get! Hired at age 20 and still limping along at 70.

  • Good performance by the model. It's not that easy to be sexy, a bit comical and look pretty at the same time. It takes talent.

  • She is the pilot. Braniff let babes like this actually fly the planes

  • "...an airline hostess should look like a girl..." Now there is a concept I like. What happened to that idea?

  • "...should look like a girl" was a response to the uniforms from the past that were reminiscent of military uniforms and man tailored suits.

  • Only ugly bitches would complain about something like this. This was a reflection of the times

  • agreed!

  • Amazing. "Should look like a girl". Paedophile much? Lol. (Yes, yes, I know back then women were called girls, blah, blah, blah).

As for the flaming gay man whores (should that be hyphenated?), I have never been on a flight with flaming gay man whore flight attendants. Might you direct me to an airline that has them so I can get me some mile-high (1.6 kilometres) action? Lol. x

  • It's fairly easy, as they don't have to change clothes, just keep striping off layers.

  • you cant believe it? this still goes on, not in the U.S., but in other countries, the really "big time" air carriers, ya know, the people who are still making money? unlike the u.s. carriers :-(

  • not at all true...

the first won case ever against flight attendant injustices was against Braniff International airlines in 1965 when ALPA-SSD got them to abolish the no marriage rule that refused to comply with Title VII of the Civil RIghts act of 1964.

  • What you have to remember is that Braniff's hey day was during the 1960's and early 1970's. also they paid their flight attendants considerably more than industry standard. Most of the Braniff girls were more than happy to do what the airline asked, and also this was mainly to amuse and entertain the customers. You see they served steak dinners instead of showing a dumb ass movie.

  • The majority of passengers at that time were businessmen.

  • Yeah, the actual facts were that only about 15% of Americans had flown at all and 85% of those were business men. Forget the times, demographics alone would suggest it would make sense to have attractive ladies on the plane.

  • did they honestly do that? I guess they just let them take one piece after the other off?

  • still flying embs? You have done really well, bigot looser.

  • that flaming gay man whore could be the one to save your fat ass on a flight one day.

  • we had those outfits for our Barbies that dad bought from the 'company store' at Braniff for $5. I sold mine at a Barbie show in 1991 for $850!!

  • "... who believes that even an airline hostess should look like a girl..."

    WHAT the FUCK

  • i would fly all around the world if they brought this back.

  • While I abhor sexism, I still love commercials like these, from a historical standpoint.

  • @electrogeek77 Actually, Honey ;She was already working at the Tinker agency.

That is how she met Harding Lawrence. He came to Braniff from Continental and wanted something to "fill the seats and shake up the Industry",

    Like he did at Continental.

Once she and the others unveiled the ad campaign "The end of the plain plane". He was sold.

They fell in love and became a Power couple in the airline ad Industries overnight, THEN came the ad agency which carried her name. Wells, Rich and Greene !

  • @electrogeek77 Sorry elctrogeek I meant my last message for the person below you...She doesn't have a clue about Mary Wells.

  • you grandfather

  • Interestingly enough, this campaign was designed by a woman - Mary Wells Lawrence, who used it to launch her own ad agency. It was very unusual for women to own their own agencies at that point - and it still is.

  • @KayDenmark You must have been raped by your mother at a very young age to be such a pussywhipped slave the rest of all your life.

  • @yamejanakaratoprak Don't take out what your parents did you as a child on other people.

  • @socialistcontainment By that definition, you lick up saliva from off the floor while crawling after people to sniff their buttholes, you generic asswipe.

Must be difficult to be a man, with all these pussywhipped, contemptuous of their own mother, homoqueers and faggots all over the place.

  • @yamejanakaratoprak OOOOK, I'll be more careful to limit my flip responses to the mentally stable from now on. You do know that this era was the antitheses of women's lib, "pussywhipped," etc.?

  • @socialistcontainment Those times will nevr come back again with the likes of selfhumiliating guiltridden male feminists from Denmark; idiots who think that, next to the emotional 'superiority' of being a possible whore, women should be supported by men to achieve economic superiority. I can live with a whore but not if she's my boss and makes more money than me.

  • @yamejanakaratoprak I hate what the feminist movement has done to America, I'm sure it is far worse in Denmark. I just didn't understand why you were so hateful to that women-actually just noticing that her name includes 'Denmark'-when she was providing historical context to the video without feminist content other than possibly hinting that more women should own ad agencies.

  • @socialistcontainment You fail to notice, Plymouth Rock, that it is a man speaking from Denmark; just like you naturally assumed it was a woman speaking, I Knew, it was a typical defeated male feminist. They export this attitude that it is in the man's best intrest and the male vanity to consist out of being supportive and selfsacrificing, emotionally and economically, to women. It is already commonplace in Holland, where I am, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland.

  • @yamejanakaratoprak If I understand you correctly, I don't think there are too many men who would choose the username KayDenmark, though I will assume you might know otherwise. Yeah, in America it has become that over the last 20-30 years. The father is branded as the neanderthal idiot and the mother and daughter are the wise and enlightened part of the household. The evidence of this has been epitomized in certain American commercials over the last 5+ years.

  • @contment If you click on the guys channel, you'll see his name listed as 'Xander' which in the germanic languages is a boys name.Thats nothing yet my friend;remember all that old talk about "the double standard" and women always used to say that theyre the 'higher moral beings'?Well if any woman is going to be my economical coworker,I'll ofcourse treat her as a male;but the pathetic whore accused me of aggression cuz I didnt treat her as a woman ie look at her ass everytime she came walking by

  • @yamejanakaratoprak I hear you but you might want to relax the hate for aggressive women, though most of them really do suck-if your lucky. I will always look at her ass in the same situation, LOL.

  • @socialistcontainment Naah, I dont mix business and pleasure; I work to earn money and afford myself a nice ass in my free time that is exclusively mine; relationship and/or otherwise. Am not a gay faggot thats gonna look at my boss' ass or in this case a female competitor on the workfloor who wants to be man enough to do my job but still wants me to look at her ass; that is like a double rape to me.Besides you know that if a woman has to go out working, her ass isnt worth looking at, hahaha

  • @KayDenmark You don't know what you are talking about.

Mary and Harding MET at the Tinker agency. The end of the plain plane campaign sealed the deal !!!

They fell in LOVE and the rest is History.

Only THEN did she form Wells,Rich and Greene !!!

Read her book "A Big Life ", You may find a clue...

    Ya big dumb girl.

  • aww yeah thats hot

  • Culottes?!? Culottes are NEVER sexy!

  • Yes, It was!!! Especially the "Bubble" helmet!!!

  • Looks good but was probably extraordinarily impractical.

  • sexi yes

  • Remember, this commercial was from 1965 or 1966. Before then, most stewardesses' uniforms were essentially carbon copies of what the pilots wore. This was one of the first attempts to put stewardesses in something more attractive.

  • This was back when a vast majority of Flight Attendants were women. They weren't even called "Flight Attendants." They were called "Stewardesses." (Male "Stewards" were a rare novelty.) Can you imagine how the public would respond if on of today's Major Airlines were to produce an advertizement like this?

  • Yes, I can easily imagine if an airline today were to produce a national commercial like this; all of their flights would be sold out within hours.

The only women who don't like it when other women are sexy are the ones who don't have much sex appeal themselves.

  • lol,, Totally agree dude...

  • Replace that with "my piggish, stereotypical idea of sex appeal, even though I can get away with looking like crap if I want to because I'm a man, dammit", and you'll be correct.

  • I dont know if you call that femminism but calling a women something like that makes you sound

    CuT? or short

  • @TP2001 That's a lie.

  • Yea, so what's your point? I miss the good'ole days. Only ugly girls use the word "sexist"!
