You don't understand it. Feeding a living mouse to the tarantula is cruel because the mouse doesn't stand a chance to escape. It is not the same as in nature. Tarantulas don't belong in a cage, either. Some people feed living tarantulas to their birds of prey. It's the same thing...

As for tarantulas not belonging in captivity - you could say the same about cows and chickens being farmed for food (they don't stand a chance of escaping either!), you could say the same about dogs, about cats, about hamsters...tarantulas don't mind being kept in captivity - and truth be told, if you keep them under the correct conditions they won't notice.

@VaatiTheWindDemon Thats correct feeding T's mice is bad for their diet as it casues their exoskeleton to harden which can prove fatal if it molts poorly. But as I stated all those month ago this is'nt like it's rare, spiders do eat rodents, lizards etc in the wild dispite it being bad for them. It is recomended though that you only feed then crickets and roaches.

As for tarantulas not belonging in captivity - you could say the same about cows and chickens being farmed for food (they don't stand a chance of escaping either!), you could say the same about dogs, about cats, about hamsters...tarantulas don't mind being kept in captivity - and truth be told, if you keep them under the correct conditions they won't notice.

@VaatiTheWindDemon Thats correct feeding T's mice is bad for their diet as it casues their exoskeleton to harden which can prove fatal if it molts poorly. But as I stated all those month ago this is'nt like it's rare, spiders do eat rodents, lizards etc in the wild dispite it being bad for them. It is recomended though that you only feed then crickets and roaches.
