Maybe I missed the point because I'm an ESL language teacher and have never been to Japan. I loved the video because it sounded to me like people trying to sound cool in English by using slang they've heard in music without grasping the cultural connotations of these words. Or maybe you're right that they're just deconstructing US pop culture.
