Use a set screw and a bolt for the bridge and nut. It adds to the reality of the whole thing. Cutting extra wood is too much work for this.

They dont know how a piezo transducer works. It is sensitive to magnetic fields, so the vibrations of METAL strings sends a signal down the wire. If you want it electric use metal strings or a normal microphone, as electric guitar single coil and humbucker pickups work on the same principal.

Also to greatly improve the sound/quality put the neck through the cigar box, under the lid. Cut the cigar box because u want the neck flush with the box so file down the neck to were it meets the box.

1. the only people to make these are going to be guitarists or other musicians, so you dont need frets that are going to fall off in a week

2. the intonation on that will be all off because you didnt measure the fret distance right

3. you dont have to mod the casset player, you just have to sodder the pizo to a headphone cord

A good idea for those not really keen on making guitar necks and such. I'm currently building one with a slightly deeper cigar box for more bassy sounds, and I rigged up a full model guitar neck of six strings. Still a good project though. Thumbs up!

His CBG fails. And it's best to put the piezo element into the cigar box, right underneath the bridge because the piezo picks up the vibration more there. And that's a cardboard box, wood box is better.
