Ah, the good old Ontario Place forum. Lots of good times there and lots of free (with admission) shows.

Why is it that you don't see anyone playing the valve trombone anymore. I never see anyone playing it in big band sections or leaders out front.

Rob lives on and though Rob physically has cut out, I sincerely hope the band has continued as this is a group of "monsters" here. Really! Somebody tell me that they are still going with that drummer kicking everybody in!!!

Rob was a giant of the big band arranging genre. His musical chops were far greater than most big band arrangers and he was a terrific valve trombonist to boot. What an awesome career!
