Clinton tried to persuade our Europeans allies to accept the "lift and strike" policy that including lift the arms embargo to balance the conflict along with threat of airstrikes but most of them opposed it because they said it would endanger UNPROFOR effort in Bosnia which is purely BS. Most of them were caught anyway. The refusal to accept it led to thousands of more Bosnians death.

Yes, sad I know. Have you read up what happened in Gorazde? There, British (Welsh) regiment took on the Serbs in a firefight, and the scum backed down in a similar attempt to over run the town with the view to do what they did in Srebrenica. This is what I am saying - at one point Blair wanted to send in ground troops but was overruled by his cowardly allies. The British would have destroyed these cowardly bandits.

@welshgem2 That's why it's good that Clinton didn't send U.S. ground troops into Bosnia without a clear exist plan. We would have been under a UN mandate to prevent all sides from killing. However Clinton persuaded Europe to accept the "lift and strike" policy but Eurocowards opposed it many times. This refusal even led to thousands of death. Had they accept it, the war would have ended in 1993.
I agree, had there been U.S. and UK combat troops, we would have destroyed the Serbs completely.

@Hperman09 There was no need to send ground troops, all what was needed was airstrikes (as in 1995, eventually) OR just lifting the UN's Bosnia arms embargo that favored the VRS and associates.
There was a strange myth back then about how they're some kind of hardcore mountain fighters, and they might also feared Mladic's threat of embarking on a terrorist campaign in the western cities too (which turned out to be just a total bluff).
Oh, and there were also the French and their own agenda.

@punipunipunisher I agree we had Bosniaks and Croatian Army doing most of the fighting during the Bosnian War. Clinton tried to persuade our Europeans allies to accept the "lift and strike" policy that including lift the arms embargo to balance the conflict along with threat of airstrikes but most of them opposed it because they said it would endanger UNPROFOR effort in Bosnia which is purely BS. Most of them were caught anyway. The refusal to accept it led to thousands of more Bosnians death.

@welshgem2 Except the UNPROFOR mandate was peacekeeping, not peacemaking. See the miniseries "Warriors", it's about the British peackeepers in Bosnia, about how they were reduced to just powerless observers, literally, they could not even evacuate people begging them to take them out of there, or to return fire.

@welshgem2 And the reason they could not evacuate people was that the UN command did not want to become an accessory in ethnic cleansing. Supposedly. Because, you know, as in taking people out would be worse then leaving them likely to be murdered at worst and expelled anyway at best.
Oh, and the French policy was to use searchlights to illuminate people trying to escape to their airfield in Sarajevo so the snipers and machinegunners in the hills would spot and shoot them... I mean, seriously.
