This game had some weird and fun ideas like this helicopter thing, getting rid of those dirt like blocks felt satisfying, oh yeah and bouncing eggs to get good shots was f'ing awesome.

@SkepticThought no need to do that u could get a gba version (i got mine today! i got lucky) but chances are very rare to get a gba version and u can also get the ds version but the ds version has a little bit of diffrent music and diffrent story :/

this is one of the games that made me like Yoshi in the 90s. definitely one of the finest games from the golden era of 2D platformers in the wake of the, then, new 3D game systems. I really would like to get a hold of this game again, and hope it comes o virtual console soon.

I promise you will find one if you look around for awhile, unless you live somewhere far from mankind. I've bought many old systems in the wild over the years, and they're usually pretty cheap, too. Don't give up.

@OhGodNo666 I read your comment but misread it at the time. Im aware Isand is in fact better but considering how more powerful the N64 was at the time I had hope hopes for story. I kept Island for years replaying it yet when I bought Story I clocked it within an hour and was so pissed off I ripped the cartridge out of the N64 and smashed it in a fit of rage.

It actually SICKENS me that not even Nintendo won't recognize this amazing game. What do they offer in the scaled-down and inferior Wii All-Stars package? Minus SMW that was in the SNES one, all of the SMB games; but not THIS one! WTF? They still haven't grasped that this IS a Mario game too? They didn't even show it in their "history of Mario" video! Idiot buffoons! They won't recognize this wonderful gem of a game, let alone (in my opinion) THE BEST Mario game EVER! -_-

@acuidad I feel your pain, but I have to say that they have made a DS port that really does it justice, and The All-Stars package is supposed to reflect the All-Stars package they released for the SNES a while back. Just thought you should know. :)

However, if they DID mean to reflect the SNES version of SMA, then they shouldn''t have left out the SMW games, let alone the first one that WAS present in the SNES version. But it's all good. Hopefully with the upcoming and severely belated virtual console they are supposedly planning for the 3DS will make up for this. -_-

I feel ashamed that Yoshi Story on N64 is more known than this game, whats so great about it, I hate Yoshi Story on N64.

I think the reason is, mostly its meant for little kids, this however is really great.

No annoying childish song before you play a level, you don't have to collect fruit, thank you!

And after my opinion i like the old style graphic on 2D games, makes it more nostalgic :)

Ah, this is one of my absolute favourite games... And I -love- Baby Mario (I play Mario Kart Wii a lot; It was from playing this game I became a Baby Mario fan). :*D

The colours of the Yoshis are dazzling, too, and they are so cute (especially when they're tapping their noses when you stand around with them without pressing any buttons).

I much prefer these SNES sound effects over the GBA versions. Too bad they decided to change 'em. =/

this is so underrated. unlike super mario world, yoshi had 10 times more freedom in this game. and all the attacks and features. VERY underrated. had it on the gba. this game is super hard.

the first super mario world seems to be better with better graphics and not so complicated... i bought this one at ebay and i am a bit disappointed at the first view... i love the first one,and played it over and over again , and now with 23years i thought lets try the second one, but its a bit strange, not really better than the first one... or am i wrong after playing 2levels??! :(
