When I use the pen tool with 'stimulate pressure' ticked, the ends taper so far that I can't see them anymore and they don't work with other lines. Is there any way to control how much the line tapers when 'stimulate pressure' is ticked?
@MastKalundar If you read the description, it provides a link to the actual tutorial, which is written and includes detailed step-by-step instructions. The video is only meant to supplement the written portion. :)
Here a dumb question for you. What is a good canvas size to work with? I tend to use a 900pxi by 900pix and a brush at 2 pix but it looks .... well crapy. and I working with a over sized canvas?
@FoxGirlStephanie That's not a dumb question at all! 900x900 is a good place to start, in my opinion. If your pen strokes look grainy with a 2px brush, make sure your viewing the canvas at 100%, and that you aren't using a special brush. I would also suggest raising the minimum diameter if it's an issue of seeing them. If these solutions don't work, try bumping the brush to 3px. :3
Huh I did everything it says in both this and your written tutorial , even turned on simulate pressure but still my lines are even. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
I read your tutorial yesterday and tried it out on one of my sketches. I didn’t make any new layers or paths; I just worked on it as soon as I opened it. Then I saved it and want to continue working on it today.
Now I need to erase the “sketch lines” the ones I lines over. How do I do that whithout having to start over or ruin the lineart?
@dipiie Hmm. I'm not really understanding the issue. Do you mean to say that you did your lineart on the same layer as your sketch, and then you saved? If so, sadly, there's noting you can do to separate the two, unless you very carefully erase around the lineart. If you used the pen tool and you still have your paths, I would say delete the sketch layer entirely and just re-stroke all your paths.
I never thought I'd be able to use the pen tool!XD But both of your tutorial really helped!! It was easier than i thought and it helps that it was in HD too!XD
Heya ^^
Wondering if you can answer a minor question xD

@eternityspool: Change the minimum diameter to a higher percentage. Check out the link to my written tutorial if you don't know how to do this. ^__^

any tips for trying to get loops with the pen tool?

might be a stupid question, but do you need a drawing tablet for this, or will a mouse be okay for this kind of thing?
emperorandromeda 2 months ago
@emperorandromeda You can use a mouse! (But, a tablet is required for pen pressure simulation.)

One of the best tutorials I've seen for the pen tool - and not all 'tecchy', which meant I could actually understand it.
Thank you so much!

Hi! Question: Can you make a tutorial for the hair? That would help me tons. Thank you! Love your art style, by the way.

I use Photoshop CS5 by the way.
