This is my favorite Badu song. I wonder why they don't play it on the radio anymore. They always playing Tyrone and I'll See You Next Lifetime, but not this one.
This si a Dboy Okalnd classic the music and the viedo.... R.I.P Tiffany Van zandt GSU rocks the house... Diallo,Monique,Sharon B. Jeans Hall Felicia Langley,Valerie Petty...Dessi..La Donya..Tarsha....GSU produced Kings and Queens!!!!
Love the story and the song....but until yesterday did not fully understand "he became the sun and I became the moon"....but now I do Smoggy and I will love you until they come for me with a sharpened implement
A lot of people don't understand that sex is not intimacy. Intimacy is about a depth of spiritual and emotional connection. This song describes that so beautifully. Music has not lost its depth. You have to be willing to go deep for the music with depth. Its there ladies and gents. Erykah is proof of that.
ok so that 1 person has mistakingly clicked the wrong button he/she meant to hit the thumbs up button...its ok im sure they went back and thumbs this song up im sure of it lol....
@TheTalentScout100 Wow, you really get aggressive over something that has nothing to do with you, and how do you know if its true or not, a partner who i used to have called me that, so dont get all up in my face, you dont know what context im talking about !
I first heard this song during my brief 2 week tour in Korea back in late 1997 where I met this young woman who was stationed in Korea. One night she invited me to her dorm room, and she played the entire CD when I was with her. We just held each other and occasionally kissed each other, but that was it. Then I went back to Hawai'i, and although we kept in touch here and there via postcards, we lost track of each other. This song stood out the most for me, and it will always remind me of her.
@and2108 Thanks. People sometimes ask if I done more, but you know, that's not the deal here. I've had my share of one night stands, but this was something different. The mellow-ness of BADUIZM made it more sensual rather than sexual when I was w/ her. It just made me value and appreciate her as a woman.
I just turned eighteen a couple months ago and I love and appreciate music like this. I don't much agree with the music of my time. So belligerent and pointless in my opinion but music does reflect the culture we live in, so maybe that's saying something about our culture. Anyway, I love Badu!

Yeah, she's on the other side of the game
and many find themselves with a partner who's involved with
a hustle that isn't right or will perhaps land the family in trouble
she needs to find a way out; will he go with her and get out?
They need to decide together and find a way to disappear
and come out the other side in one piece as a family
If he won't go then she has to find a way out on her own
It will help if she has friends somewhere else
that can help her start over where there are more...
