It all starts with exacerbated economic freedom, that leads to big social differences (the amount of money the wealthiest holds), to huge corporations with disproportional amount of political influence, and all the rest. In other developed countries people don't have that much freedom to capitalize money, they all pay much more taxes, that's why they concern more about social problems. But that's also bad, cause economical problems destroy the ultra responsible State.
This is terrible how there's so many problems to solve. Honestly, I though it was really just the economy that was terrible, but we have tons of other issues on our shoulders as well. I hope this gets fixed!
@theshiznits2020 It's more cleaner, there's more nature. People are very friendly, plus it's not as crowded, and has less people. But that's what I like about it, you might have other reasons why you like Japan more.
I've lived in Germany... you don't know how crapy the care they often get. In canada people have reported waiting weeks just to see a doctor for a check up. i can call a doctor and get an appointment for tomorrow. Their are alot of problems in the US but they are caused by crony capitalism, not not having socialised healthcare. As for the '20% poor kids'. The average american poor has two tvs, cable, internet, and more SQFT per person than most of the world.
@pcgamernum1 yeah there are problems with both healthcare systems, in europe it takes to long to get to a doctor and in america if you don't have health insurance you can't see a doctor at all
@fr0z0ne0wnz America used to have the best healthcare, the best education, the best economy... then we started socializing everything. This all started because of the great depression, which was caused by a perfect storm of bull. :P Stockmarket crash caused by 'speculative pricing', banks lending out more money than they had and going bankrupt, fear of another crash, and the 'dust bowl' Drought.
and when all those little children born into poverty grow up, what are they going to do??? All due to the issues you address, no programs, or poor ones, no control, whacked priorities, etc., etc.
@wifefker If you were a teacher, you'd give "credit" to someone who wasn't even in your class.
You've nothing but assumption and insults. That you think I would care what someone like you thinks of me personally is just silly. Its impossible for someone like you to insult me, just as impossible as it seems it is for you to look at large scale causes for large scale social problems, without assigning base blame to distract from your lack of solution.
@wifefker You really are lost in a sea of self-obsessed assumptions, aren't you.
You do realize its POVERTY that creates more criminals, alcoholics, and drug addicts, yes? Yet you would assign useless blame on single mothers to justify taking away social aids that would keep them from being in poverty in the first place. Your opinion is so short sighted that you're staring behind yourself as you laugh at the people ahead of you. Sad, really.
@wifefker The difference between how many are executed in China (for whatever reason) and the number difference between Chinas jail population and the US jail population are factors beyond one another, and not in the US's favor either. You apparently have trouble with simple statistics.
And your vapid assumptions about single mothers is about as useless as it comes. Dead beat dad? Didn't use birth control? Deprived child of father? ASSUMPTIONS, and not ones you can base social aid on.
@wifefker I don't care how many offenses they execute for, they do not arrest people for basic drug use. You've said nothing to negate this fact. Whatever else China executes for is irrelevant.
And you've yet to explain HOW or WHAT "choices" single mothers make that are bad. Single or married, mothers make the same decisions across the board. When you provide evidence otherwise, I'll explain how you're still wrong. Btw, who initiates divorce is also irrelevant. Your ASSUMING things.
@wifefker China executes drug smugglers, but does NOT incarcerate the average drug user.
And single mothers make no worse "choices" than married mothers. The very claim otherwise is frankly ridiculous. We have high infant mortality because only those with MONEY can afford quality care, and single mothers are far more likely to be impoverished since dad didn't stick around to help support his family. Do you have any idea how high our HOMELESS population of single mothers is? Its shameful.
I look at these idiots that have commented, "military never too high" BS - they are paid for Mercs that do not fight for American freedom. "Immigration" I work with a large number of immigrants, and everyone of them pay a higher percentage in taxes (i have looked at their paychecks with their permission {including tax checks}) ........ Comparing China and US is like comparing a Authoritarian Regime and a Fascist Capitalism
Uh, China does have ICBMs that can reach the USA. Doesn't take many to wipe out every single major US city and military target. And nothing will stop them once launched.
No country will attack us. It's just not practical and on top of that, there is no reason to attack the US. Even a much smaller navy would be more then a deterrent.
@mecher3k Every major Country has ICBM's. And actually, if China did launch a missile at us, we would shoot it down easily. China is not a threat to the U.S., the only Country that is a threat to us at all, and at that a MINOR threat, would be Russia. Russia knows if they attacked us it would be hell for them and us, which is why we reamin neutral.
that'll be sad the day when American leaping Mexican border for a place of peaceful retirement. I already see lots of ads on Mexico and South America retirement communities targeted at older American.

Everybody who's not killing somebody is probably in jail already! Damn, those statistics look like something you'd might expect in the worst parts of Africa or something.
Whilst the NHS (The uk health care system) has flaws, imagine if they doubled the budget. Well they could pretty much do that to spend the same as the US.
@fahim113 Its all relative, its still better than in the US.
US care may be great for about 2/3rd of americans, but not the other third.
And its only getting worse here.
Whats worse is since its tied to your job, the worst economic times is when the amount of people with health care drops, and it can be one time they need it the most due to deteriorating life conditions.
Well each country has something to work on. America is by far not a perfect country and it has a lot of problems while having its head up its ass. Still as much as I have issues with this country I care enough to care about its problems instead of leaving or shutting up and letting it do w.e
@WarMasterX6 That's nice. The only reason I haven't left is because I'm a prisoner of class status. I would have left 10 years ago if I could have afforded it, back before wall street collapsed the world's economy. It gets the mind thinking more with that starting point, and its interesting to see how others see the world.
