  • i have this cd i love Jacob Dylan's eyes they are beautiful gray.

  • Honestly? The lead singer is Bob Dylan's son?

  • uh, yea, and you should listen to more bob dylan

  • yes

  • Just had a crazy dream with this song in it. Jason behr, and bill from true blood were in it too. Very Very hott.. *sigh* What a way to start my monday.

  • David Fincher, great director, he made movies, like: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Zodiac, Seven, The Game, Fight Club.

  • OMG, I hate to say it but look at 0.46. He looks like his dad when he first started. lol, I thought it was cool. =)

  • Adam Duritz of Counting Crows is singing back up vocals on this.

  • Awesome song! Love it.....

  • I love this song. This is one of those ones you just relax to. And to make it so much better, the director of Fight Club directed this video.

  • muito boa essa musica tambem não é por menos estamos falando de uma banda de qualidade

  • it's so great that we're all able to share greatness, i mean we all know that this dude's name is his greatest curse... love these guys... hope all you youngsters can appreciate it.

  • I like the Harrison-esque guitar on this tune.

  • THAT's what I recognize as familiar! Thanks! You're right!

  • I'm not a fan of The Wallflowers, but I love this song. Type of song you would want to hear on a cold, cloudy Saturday morning, with a cigarette in one hand and a coffee in the other, looking out the window.

  • Or for those of us who feel that "blowin fags" (smoking cigs) is nasty. A joint in one hand and a beer in the other.

  • I'll puff to that fastcars! I also have to say that the video is quite. Fincher is the shit!

  • me encanta The Wallflowers, y esta cancíón es de las mejores!

  • I love this song. Reminds me of me and my boyfriend.

  • Man! The weight of the memories that this beautiful song brings is really depressing me!

  • This band takes me back in the 1900"s watching "Beavus and butt head" rocking to primus. what ever happen to the bands" One Armes Cissor", AND "BOY HITS CAR"?

  • i think ur talking about the band at the drive in who had a song called one armed scissor. they broke up and the disbanded member s created sparta and mars volta

  • 1900's?

  • Yeah man, I remember watching Beavis and Butthead right after my favorite charlie chaplin movies. And after that I used to rock the fuck out to Scott Joplin. Ah, those were the times.

  • man brigning down the horse is probly one of the best albums of all time. im gonna name a few jsut to ut it into context lol all killer no filler sum41. take off ur pants and jacket blink 182. experience hendrix. bleed america jimmy eat world thriller by the nj naturaly and im sure peopel will disagree but every shins album lol. people cna throw tpacs best cd in there 2 and creams last album all the beatles albums theres not many more i can think of lol. but bringing down the horse is with em :D

  • does anyone else find it pretty badass that david fincher directed this video?

  • YES.

  • totally

  • =} Senhorita Ju... Um dia a gente se encontra numa avenida dessa. bjjjj

  • AND I MISS YOU LOVE (eu amando, senhorita JU)... s2

  • Bob Dylan would sure make a great father-in-law.

  • So many problems, so little time, man the memeories.....

  • I love the Beatles-like sound in the guitars, great song.

  • This song makes me wanna go to a bar order some wisky and keep the bottle on the bar.

  • agreed

  • God Bless Laura Newman who was 18 (died on OCt 31) when she died. I miss you laura, your still in my memory and will always be in my heart.

    Miss you girl.

    --JM

  • Great band! Thanks PETEM4 for send!

    i used to too!!!!

    :((

    good times

  • AWESOME...I had a kiss from a lover that lasted this entire song...Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • LOVE this song! GREAT band!

  • I can't shake how Counting Crows-like this song is. (Especially the organ, plus the fact that Counting Crows's lead singer, Adam Duritz, is singing back-up.) Great song!

  • wow makes me dream away:)

  • Baby.Making.Music.

    :P

  • I love this song. The Wallflowers are amazing there old tunes are the best.

  • some people just dont understand the he so deep so intents just like dad he's not his dad but i will say he is hes fathers son hugs kiss both

  • so good looking

  • Fucking ace tune!

  • good song

  • You got it the other way around: The video is mediocre, the song is great.

  • Look at it closer. You know how difficult it is to get that effect? David Fincher is a genius and still working. Where are The Wallflowers?

  • I never said what he did didn't require hard work/talent, I just don't think it's all that interesting. As for where the Wallflowers are, they got left out due to disputes with labels, and labels shutting down etc. The main ideology of big record labels is 'love em and leave em.' Don't compare "still working" to talent or success, especially when the business is all about money.

  • Sounds like you work in the music industry. Ironic, since I work in the film industry. I guess we'll pick and choose what we decide to appreciate.

  • its not that hard to make that video just film it and then play each still individually

  • Very untrue. It looks easy. The effects were probably created in Discreet Flame or Smoke. Or in the earlier days, something called Henry. These are quarter mil hardware that make it look easy. The effect is suppose to be a flip book with still photos. But look underneath. There are sloppy borders, scribbling, etc...it's animation on top of it! u have no clue.

  • They're still making albums that's where and for the record I like this video alot.

  • Agree with tylertjp. Great song, video just isn't that interesting.

  • I personally love the way this video was shot, the pictures are like a collection of memories from an odyssey. On the other hand I Respect your opinion and although this is one of my favorite film styles, I can see how it can be frustrating to watch.

  • I guess it doesn't help that it's in Youtube quality, I've never seen a full quality version of the video.

  • True

  • wow! memories.. haha.

  • Fuck he's nice.

  • he's a dream

  • that one dude looks like Bob Dylan when he was younger

  • dude its his son.

  • serious?

  • prick

  • serious?

  • seriously, you're a prick

  • that's harsh but I'm all about the love babe

  • love me...

  • done

  • done back

  • cigarette

  • post coital

  • is that like a Marlboro?

  • no, it's like a fag x

  • I'm open minded to their ways

  • I've got everything open for you

  • yes, jakob dylan....

  • boo ah

  • Jakob Dylan= the product of Sara and Bob Dylan

  • cool

  • ahh... summer of 1996 great times, i miss them:(

  • The background singer sounds a little like the counting crows guy

  • it is. adam duritz and the guitarist for tom petty and the heartbreakers collaborated with the wallflowrrs for this song

  • who gives a fuck if they put the camera infront of his voice! Its all about the song! IT ROCKS!!!

  • I don't think that it's so much that he's self absorbed, as it is that he looks like his dad, and the directors of the other videos want people to make that connection.

  • well if thats the truth than thanxe for at least makin a respectiful argument rather than actin like a douch bag like the rest of these pp over not an insult, but the truth, i think.

  • should also point out that the band itself is very very rarely given a choice in how the video is shot. The director chooses who to show and how to show it.

  • This is very true. The video should not reflect on the singer or any other member of the band. It is the directer that decides how the video will be shot, who it will be focused on, and who it exposes the most. Jacob is not a self-centered lead singer such as many singers are. He's one of the rare humble ones that just enjoys making music. You should respect him for that.

  • sometimes

  • Okay so for those of you who were interested... hope you read this. I would write you all personally but... Anyway, this is SCARPACIE. Changed my name recent. Got those Clover tribute videos up. peace

  • simply awsome :)

  • Can't believe Fincher directed this, it's garbage. He should have done shots of the camera flying in and out of their noses, now that's Fincher. Song is great though, too bad music videos are fucking retarded.

  • The director of the video is David Fincher (Fight Club, Seven, Zodiac). He is a great director BUT not here, the video clip is average.

  • The video is not so great but here's what the song is about: This is when Jakob was in new york trying to figure out how to get into music. Just accross his apartment street(6th avenue) there was a man who sang all the songs that jakob knew. One morning this man just left and jakob never saw him again.Jakob was just wondering who this man was(I think it was an angel). This is actually a true story song. How touching!!!

  • I wish all people good and truthfull knowlegde!

  • i think that was my comment.good one if not

  • that's my jakie!

  • Is that guy who usually echoes Jacob the lead singer of the Counting Crows? It sounds just like him.

  • Yeah, Adam Duritz sang backup on this song. Good call. :)

  • This is a great song...but has anyone got any footage of Adam Duritz (Counting Crows) singing along with the Band?

  • this is the most "brit-pop" song i've heard from an american band haha. just because it has that "new york city feel" to it.

  • porra, alguem escreva em portugues

    shit, somebody writes in Portuguese

    BRASILLLLLLLLLLL

  • SIMPLY AMAZING GOOD SONG

  • I used to love this song and I still do. I remember when I used to have the biggest crush on Jakob, and I still do. He's beautiful and I love his voice.

  • I used to love this song!! Haven't heard it in years. Love the vidoe!!

  • favorite song of all time

  • Aww I miss the 90's. :o(

  • En mis sueños.....

  • i saw them at the highline ball room in NYC but they didint play one headlight i was very upset

  • saw them last night at the borgata in AC. really good stuff

  • epitux is right. Bob is on a different level but Jakob is a better singer and his stuff is still great.

  • Going to see them tomorrow :)

  • I wonder why he didnt adapt Zimmerman as his lastname instead of Dylan? That way he wouldnt be compared as much to his father :( its like comparing apples and oranges. Jakob's brilliant. I love love love rebel, sweetheart i keep coming back to it.

  • Man this video brings back some memories.

  • Does anyone remember watching this video on Pop Up Video?

  • No.. what about it? Was it funny, sad, or etc, can u tell us?

  • Haha! NO!

But yeah, I remember Pop-Up Video. It was awesome.

(It was like a souped-up "special features" of a Pre-DVD era.)

Oh, and MTV's 'Say What?' was also pretty cool.

(Yeah, back when MTV actually had -MUSIC-)

  • este tema es muy bueno para mi en mi mundo

es la segunda banda mejor (osea primero mi vida oasis)

pero nose por que pero me encanta esta banda

    es muy grosa

    no se tuvieron que separar

    galagher_madferit@hot...

  • the same white lie that was trown on you was thrown on me. its throwing me here, 6th ave.heartache

  • Very good song.

  • he looks like bob dylan but he is so different...he will never be able to make fantastic lyric and musik like his father!

  • fucking dumbass, can't even spell music right, and terrible grammar. Of course NOBODY will be able to top Bob Dylan, but you act like Jacob is just crap, when in reality he has a better voice than Bob, and his songs really are very well written, both lyrically and musically.

  • One of the best bands in the past 25 years, no doubt. Way too good for todays vapid popular taste. Like his dad, he is a musicians musician, not fodder for the clueless masses.

    Amazing!!

  • beautiful song..great lyrics.

  • Mad crazy about this song! Dang man!

  • Esa Cancion Es para mi

    la mejor de Wallflowers

    y le sigue Sleepwalkerr

    Exelente

  • its about a homeless guy who played guitar across the street from where he lived. nothing to do with bob.

  • 6th ave is where all the music publishers and music companies used to be. They drove Bob Dylan nuts, "drawing lines on him", trying to make another teen idol out of him. Bob warned his son and sure enough, the music industry tried to redraw him into their own corrupt image. I don't blame the Wallflowers for taking a break!

  • One of the MOST nostalgic tunes ever!!

  • loooooove this song!

  • Wonderful, just like his dad. The Dylans rule!

  • miss these guys a lot ...why no more??

  • GREAT SONG

  • Yeah, it is...

  • everytime i hear this song, i sense shades of "the band" - it has the same plodding, deliberate feel as "the weight" - sort of a modern version of an old sentiment. - "mommish" logged in on brooque's account

  • I think they did it deliberately, to give it that "classic sound".

  • This one, even though much younger than I am, relates to 6 years, living at an address on 6th Ave. in the East Village. Thanks.

  • You mean the west village? Bob Dylan played often at the "Cafe Wha?" on McDougall, just two blocks from 6th and most of the music companies used to be on lower 6th as well.

  • love the wallflowers

  • one of my favorite songs..without a doubt

  • love it.

  • I love the wallflowers but I just dont hear anything about'em anymore. Whats goin on with these guys are they still playin? or r any of them dead? can someone fill me in? thanks.

  • Their last album, "Rebel, Sweetheart," came out in May of 2005. Since then, though, it doesn't seem that they've been working together, and there have been record label changes as well. Jakob performed solo as the opening act for T Bone Burnett's tour in 2006 and he wrote a number of songs that were used in a few tv shows (check out "Stardust Universe" on iTunes).

  • Continued...

The other band members have either contributed to various albums or toured with other bands in the meantime. Jakob covered The Band's "Whispering Pines" on the tribute CD "Endless Highway," and most recently, he contributed his version of Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth" on the new "Instant Karma" benefit CD.

  • They are an Awesome Band, but you are right, they did sort of disappear

  • this video is more coffee, but should have been more weed (or just plain beery). i know they were trying not to be cliche with slow-mo, but slow-mo works for a reason. still, great song. great jeans/genes.

  • Where's the live version with Carole King? I can't find it.

  • I had this album on cassette tape when I was like in the 6th grade.. this was one of my favorites..

  • I always thought this video was a little fast for the song. Great band though.

  • excelente rola...buen video..la mejor banda!!

    excelent track...good video..the best band!!

  • More like the Counting Crows than Bob Dylan.

  • This is like, fine. But absolutely Nothing to what bob dylan was and is.

  • luv this band!

    Mr. Dylan after all!

  • Wow, this song brings back memories. I remember listening to this in the truck with my parents when I was like 5 years old haha. Great song.

  • ya think

  • It is his son

  • Yup, it's his son Jakob Dylan

  • Bringing Down The Horse

  • i liked wallflowers, but in brazil this not famous

  • It's an interesting vid. This used to be my song. :)

  • This video is something different

  • the director is only david fincher...fight club, seven, alien, also done videos for aerosmith, madonna, a perfect circle and nine inch nails...im sure he didnt know what he was doing hahaha! i find it really cool! and different at least!

  • um, weirdo. ridley scott directed alien.

  • what he meant was alien 3

  • It feels like the director was so consumed with his concept that he didn't care if it meshed well with the song, which it doesn't, at all. But I love the song and that's all that matters.

  • Yeah. He's a good director, but I agree with you. The video doesn't match the song at all... Wonderful as it is. :)

  • I used to love this song. It is still awesome
