Pistons only push up to 13 blocks. It didn't STOP, it's working perfectly fine. Hope this helped.

@TheJupiterSailfish There's a lot more efficient ways of making cobblestone in the beginning than dumping lava, picking up lava, dumping water, mining, repeat. Your way works, but it's a pain in the ass, and it's slow. Your piston method won't even work with the newest version of Skyblock, since there's no steel or redstone available at all on the map.

But, you know, that's one of the beautiful things about Minecraft. There's no one correct way to do things. More power to ya, man.
