The point is, Cesar Millan has had so much experience with dogs that he has familiarized himself to dog behaviours on a level you will never attain unless you open your mind to the truth, DOGS ARE NOT 2 YEAR OLD HUMANS and as much as we want to believe, THEY WILL NEVER BE HUMAN. We have to accept that no matter how we love our pets.

It's actually the opposite, by punishing fearful dogs, Millan is cementing their fear. Millan has learned that w/ enough force you can cause any dog to shut down & stop moving - it's what he calls calm and submissive.

For instance, the case of Gavin, an ATF dog who seem to be suffering from a post traumatic syndrome. This is the episode where Cesar Millan earned my appreciation to his passion for dogs. He did not stick to "one size fit all" approach,he studied the dog and applied a customized technique to suit the dogs condition.Very Scientific approach.

Millan has been criticized by nearly every organization out there for his use of force based on a dominance/pack principle. Human brain has to many parts that a dog can never have. That's the very reason why an infant is so fragile because the body can't cope up with the brain's growth. Cesar is gifted and sharing his gift with the world. A lot of unemployed and jealous certified dog behaviourists out there. Cesar has a common sense approach backed up by just the right amount of love. When a certified dog behaviourist fails to rehab a dog they will blame the dog and give up, it's that simple. Like the San Francisco spca labelling a dog with incurable aggression then then saying they are a no kill facility

The ignorance that this program perpetuates will give equally ignorant people the green light to subject their dogs to abuse. In turn these dogs will react even more defensively, will bite more people - and end up dead. I have serious concerns because his methods are often intimidating rather than motivating. On TV, the dogs do comply but often they're being forced to - you can tell by their body language: tail down, mouth closed, ears back, eyes dilated...

Maybe abused or molested as a kid, but definitely a failure in all aspects under light light from every perspective, so it hurts to see him successful & has at-least a half a brain which is quite a significant upgrade from what he has to deal with in his noggin!!!!!!! @MsLabMom so are you saying we should use 100% positive reinforcement? If so I disagree. I've found positive reinforcement works to a degree, but to balance everything they also need corrections at times. Certain dogs won't work for treats or praise, trust me I've worked with them. One dog I worked with would become posessive of treats and attack you. There are many dogs where his "psychology" methods....are more necessary than actual dog training. It just depends on the individual dog.
