Okay, the costumes were impressive and it was interesting to see a real life Carmen short. Personally I would have preferred if Carmen's face was not shown full on, but that's just me. I was however disappointed in the clues and conclusions related to them. While it may have been accurate, they were extremely vague and seemed more like far reaching without any strong rationality involved.
When I saw the title screen, I thought for sure this was gonna be a really cheap parody of the character that would just make my stomach cringe.
Surprisingly, this was a really fun and clever entry that actually paid tribute to the franchise as a whole. It's clear that everyone had a deep respect for this character and worked hard to preserve its appealing qualities, right down to the last second. Pretty impressive.
Thanks for showing the Internet how to make a GOOD fan film. Bravo I.F.
@JourneyTraveler Thanks for the good words about our Carmen short. Happy to report we are currently filming a sequel to this and it will feature another popular video game character on Carmen's trail this time. ;-) Please subscribe if you haven't already.
The first original film is coming out in early 2010. February or March. On the fan film side of things, up next is a sequel to the Mortal Kombat short from last April and a Black Cat project with hopefully another Mike Vaughn Spidey cameo. Maybe after all that Carmen will plan her next big caper. Who knows? Thank you for your interest phourthefunovit.
Haha, I have to say Carlston makes me think Eric Foreman from That 70s Show is now a detective - very similar voice & not that dissimilar appearanceswise, even...
IF, that was a lot of fun to watch! Derek was perfect as the detective, and his cockiness really added to the overall flavor of the film! Of course the best part was the fight scene, when Carmen is standing there as the Detective off screen wails on the VILE thugs (nice sound FX). Oh, and Carmen. Carmen! CARMEN!!! Good job, Summer. Kudos to Dan, Fred, and everyone else who made that little treasure a reality. Best adaptation of the script by far, great job Kevin and Jason!
Thanks for all the feedback Dave! You rock in 7 languages man. Thanks for being so helpful with everything. I can't wait to see what you come up with also!

Boy. What I wouldn't give to see this as a Full-Length Feature Fan Film (meaning much longer than this). Other than that, this must be a masterpeice.

Not badly shot, but the two first scenes felt overly long.

Liked the reference to the game show by having the Chief called Chief Lee.

Thanks Amber! I'm glad you liked it. I love everything you are doing with Dirty Step Upstage. I'm excited to see it!
P.S.
I also think you have Carmen tied for sexiest female character wearing red, when you are Girl In The Red Dress.

Thanks for the feedback Chris. Don't forget Derek had just a bit of Horatio Caine from CSI: Miami thrown in for good measure. =)
