One last thing before I leave: Funimation is a great anime company. They do wonderful work with their dubs and the subtitles for the japanese version are excellent and accurate. So far, The only anime dub they've ever screwed up on(aside from DBZ, but they're already working on that)was Rumble Hearts and that's only because there were some major issues going on at the time pertaining to the script.

Hell, they even helped us One Piece fans out by redubbing it and releasing uncut DVDs.

Dattebayo changes the subtitles for their openings a lot. This is one reason I dont watch their subtitles. Plus they add cursing for no reason when its not even supposed to be there. I'll stick with english dubs as they are more reliable.

'sides, I was watching another show's dub from funamation, and then watched it on the dvd's japanese setting with subtitles, only to discover that funamation actually managed changed the plot!

First, Viz Media does the dub of Naruto not Funimation. 2nd, Dattebayo doesnt have an exact meaning but it closely translates to "You know!" or "Definetly!" They used Believe it because it was similar to dattebayo and it matched the lip movements. But they havent even used believe it since like episode 46.

Dattebayo doesn't actually mean anything. It's like Rika's "Nipa" from Higurashi; it has no meaning other than a catchphrase that's exclusively used by a character to make their speech unique.

And I agree that I'd rather take the official releases of anime (excluding 4Crap's butchery) with the translations done by actual professionals that do this for a living rather over a bunch of amatuer fansubbers who insert curse words unnecessarily and are inconsistent with their translations.

Actually I like this one way better than the original one. I like the Kakashi part as well but for some strange reason i like the part when they're all jumping through the trees alot. Its in slow mo and it the whole Konoha 11, just kinda cool.
