I am a phlebotomist and RN in New York and this is the correct order of draw up here too. This video is 100% accurate. Thank you CenterPhlebotomyEduc for posting.
Whoa...those of you who do not agree. Did you read that this person is from CA and that is the proceedure there?! Proceedures do vary slightly state to state and facility even within the same state. I'm from NY and the order is similar to the above, but I've seen it vary ever so slightly (according to physician and/or facility or even hospital) directions. SO, you skeptics and "know it alls" should not be "poo pooing." By the way, I'm Certified & an RN working in the OR for over 30 years.
so its Yellow, blue (anti-coagalutant) Red (no additive) SST: red/grey tubes gold, green Serum sepreator tubes, light grren, (heprin) Lave (EDTA) Grey....
@krypekeeper I believe the order of draw may change from state to state but I just got out of school this month and the order of draw in California and the one listed in this video was correct.
CHEF + S
SCHEF = Sterile / Citrate / Heparin / Serum / EDTA / Flouride
