Buakaw wasn't throwing him to the ground, he was swinging him around to off-balance him and set him up for knees. Most fighters would attempt to regain balance to stay in the clinch, but Souwer kept falling so that the ref would reset them standing. Souwer knows his biggest strength is his hands, he could never outkick Buakaw or beat him in the clinch, so he would get in within punching range, and when Buakaw clinched to neutralize his punching power, he would fall down to get back to standing.
