To all who wants to know, because I found many forums that speak about this dance "Circassian Circle"...
I am a Circassian, Circassians (self designation Adyghe) got an ancient dance from paganic times, which is called "Round dance" in Circassian Удж Хъурай "Wudj Khurai" and from this dance came the European "Circassian Circle" version, probably English travellers who were in Circassia in the 19th century saw it and somehow they brought it to England and from there to other countries...

I danced the Circassian Chalk Circle at school in the 60s in England, taught to us then by Poles. We didn't use this music, it was Authentic circassian, so not sure where the irish jig applies.
OMG - THAT'S JUST ADORABLE:)!!! I'M SO GONNA DANCE THAT WITH MY KIDS TOO *LOL*:)!!! great job on making the holding hands easier - thanks so much for sharing:)!!!
wth is this? title needs to be changed...just take a look at what comes up when you type circassian and then look at this video or just take a look at my page while your at it to see true Circassian Dance
Murad i think it is a honour for us Circassians that Europeans dance our ancient dance "Wudj Khurai" the round dance the Circassian circle they named it.
I really wonder when and how they adopted this dance
it looks like the circassian circle called wuidj. in the background is also an accordion (pshine) which makes us thing it is wuidj. but i think like mefako said its just a dance for fun. but theyre good:) im from germany too, makes me smile to see children dancing like we do:)))) süper süß!

The tune is Scottish. The little kids look Scottish and the dance looks like a (Scottish) reel I might be wrong though
