omg, i just cry listening to that bit where it goes silent 1:55 then the piano starts and all i think about is tomoya shouts out nagisas name and runs up to her and hugs her. my mum thought something was seriously wrong with me when she walked in on me bawling to ep 22 pt 1 but i made her watch it and she had tears in her eyes too! :)

Clannad and Clannad After Story will always be my favourite anime. Anime doesn't have to have tons of blood and violence to be a masterpiece. I believe that the best anime are the ones that tug at your heartstrings and really make you think and re-evaluate your life. Clannad is the anime that had that effect for me. I will probably never forget it.

Clannad as a whole can not be measured in any way shape or form,. It's brilliance in the themes it covers and the emotional aspects it conveys are incredibly well portrayed. But if any one song could represent Clannad, I feel this would be the closest.

On a side note, if you've liked this visual novel/anime (I've only watched the anime, haven't tried out the visual novel yet), then I'm confident you'll like Ever17. Clannad and Ever17 are among THE best works of fiction one can experience.

This song suits its name, like Nagisa, it's beautiful and warm but like a thin, delicate piece of glass in mid-build, so beautiful, yet hold onto it too strongly and it could break but builds up into a melody so familiar that you know how to handle it and you wish for it to go on forever.

the mistery girl indeed Ushio, and the robot is Tomoya, Ushio grant Tomoya's wish and send him back to five years before (when Nagisa is giving birth to Ushio)

I only have two reaons. But you might've known by now o.o I'm not sure. In one part, when the mystery girl (Ushio) calls the robot "Dad" they hear a song. (The Big Dango Family) The robot said that he knew that song, and Ushio said "Because you were the one who always sang that song to me" And Tomoya sang "The Big Dango Family" To Ushio =)

In episode 22 the girl starts humming dango daikazoku and the robot recognizes the song and the girl says "yes, that is the song you've always sung to me." and tomoyo sang that to her in the other world. Clannad After Story even has Tomoyo's voice actor, and the robots voice actor speaking the same lines at once, no offense but thats kind of like screaming "tomoyo and the robot are the same thing!" lol watch the last two episodes again if you still don't get it.

Well, Tomoya and the robot both feel as if they are living in a world which has actually stopt existing, were nothing is born and nothing dies.

Its kinda hard to see it in the anime... but there's a movie about clannad aswell.

It came out before the anime series, and in there it kinda explains more about the paralel world you see.

@SNoRRo The movie came out about a month before the start of the tv series in 2007. Both were based on the visual novel for PC which came out in 2004. But you're right, there's only so much that can be covered in the anime. Kind of like when a show is based on a book or manga; stuff has to be cut.
