i'm not saying boise isn't good, but the problem is you schedule a tough OOC then some middle OOC. then you play maybe 3 middle of the pack teams in conference play and the rest are bad. strength of schedule is what holds them back. some claim bias against non-AQ conferences, but these conferences are weaker than most AQ conferences. it is very clear. just because you win one or two games against these teams doesn't make your conference better.
I admit there was some late hits in this game, no reason for that. However, Boise beat these guys in that game, and in Boise the following year too. Boise has been better than Oregon on the field, that's the bottom line!!!

And that play were he hit the receiver was called wrong, if he was 'targeting a defenseless player', then the QB should have been also called for an intentional grounding because there was no other reciever in the direction of the ball. That was a blown call, completely. He should'nt have been ejected.
@Hlover01 No, I'm just a referee and avid college football(Florida actually) fan. You can't call a late hit on a DB on that play without calling the intentional grounding play to off set. In order for that to be a late hit, the receiver would have had to been A. Defenseless AND B. Out of range of a reception. Its either a no call, or off setting penalties, as he couldn't have been out of range of a reception and still be the intended receiver.
I laugh at the publicity that Boise State receives. They are a good team but year after year when their toughest opponent is Nevada, how good are they really? It's a disgrace that this team is allowed to play in BCS bowl game. I watched the game against Oklahoma and I was impressed but let's not forget OU was all Adrian Peterson. They would lose at least four games a year in the PAC 12, Big Ten, or SEC.

What I find odd is that LSU sent the invite, AFTER BSU's schedule had been released. Sounds more like LSU sent the invite KNOWING BSU would turn it down in favor of their already SCHEDULED and PAID for game.

Bsu beat PAC champs. Bsu beat at least 3 PAC teams in 3 years. Bsu has not lost a PAC game on this time or even had a close test. Bsu beat Utah a new member of PAC in a blowout in Vegas bowl. Pat hill a coach who has faced bsu and many PAC schools said he would take bsu over any team in the country. So for all you who are older than 5 here are the facts. I'm gonna go with no on that. I was at the 2002 rose bowl, tailgated with Oregon fans that were on their way back from the fiesta bowl. After the game a Duck fan said "well it looks like the wrong team played in that game". I said " Ya.......Nebraska would have kicked the shit out if Oregon". And he said "you're probably right". Miami was just far and above the best team in college football in 2001.

You must be an Oregon fan(cough, overrated). The first hit on Masoli was late, but Masoli was running in that direction and he had full momentum so its completely excusable. And that play were he hit the receiver was called wrong, if he was 'targeting a defenseless player', then the QB should have been also called for an intentional grounding because there was no other reciever in the direction of the ball. That was a blown call, completely. He should'nt have been ejected.

@Hlover01 No, I'm just a referee and avid college football(Florida actually) fan. You can't call a late hit on a DB on that play without calling the intentional grounding play to off set. In order for that to be a late hit, the receiver would have had to been A. Defenseless AND B. Out of range of a reception. Its either a no call, or off setting penalties, as he couldn't have been out of range of a reception and still be the intended receiver.

I laugh at the publicity that Boise State receives. They are a good team but year after year when their toughest opponent is Nevada, how good are they really? It's a disgrace that this team is allowed to play in BCS bowl game. I watched the game against Oklahoma and I was impressed but let's not forget OU was all Adrian Peterson. They would lose at least four games a year in the PAC 12, Big Ten, or SEC.

Theres a reason the SEC has 6 out of the last 7 championships, and will more than likely get another this year. The PAC 10 is ALL hype.
