  • I'm really looking forward to this, I don't even play fighters but the art (hand drawn! ♥) and fighting style of the characters drew me in. Really unique designs and the mechanics of the game are really appealing to me, no exploitable infinates and things like that and very few spam moves which is amazing as I always hated going online or playing with friends because they'd spam the shit out of me. xD

  • Hopefully this game sells enough to be deemed profitable to get a second installment. I can see it all ready, SkullGirls 2 with more modes, 15 new characters sold in stores worldwide. the world can use fighters like this one that may not be 100 percent unique taking ideas from many other games in the genre, but certainly looks like 100 percent good fun. next thing u know u got skullgirls competing with the big boys like street fighter

  • I hate how the assumption is japanese immediately equals good. The voice acting is fine, and you only like japanese acting either because you 1. don't understand it, or 2. immediately assume everything from glorious Nippon is amazing.

That being said, who knows, this game actually does have a fanbase in japan, I think there's a chance it'll get japanese voice acting considering the designer likes things from japan.

  • @Kelohmello More power to America, I say. We hardly ever come up with a good fighter ever.

  • @NuMrGreen Amen. I hope for the best for this game, it really does look great, and it already has a fanbase overseas, hopefully it'll get big worldwide.

  • @Kelohmello Maybe it'll get an anime. O.O

  • looks cool

  • It's this kind of artistic creativity that i love in fighting games. It really reminds me of Guilty Gear and Blaz Blue, but really defines itself apart from them. I really hope this game comes out soon, and it lives up to my expectations i've gotten from these vids,

  • kinda looks interesting....but still the market has Arcana Heart 3 that is more interesting than this IMO

  • I hope they'll have an option for japanese voices.

  • @demonkeyoblivion Well, it's made by english speaking people so I doubt it

  • @NuMrGreen Meh, I'll just deal with it. Thankfully the voice acting isn't awful.

  • @demonkeyoblivion Yea, they aren't exactly professional voice actors. It's an indie company so they take what they can get

  • @Jbeezmandias Yea, this is a downloadable game, no disk.

  • this is for 360 too?

  • make a game... then come and complain...

    i like it ><

  • @NuMrGreen SF is about controlling space so I can see why some may say it's a little slow. But because of that philosopy, the game naturally lends itself to multiple variable strategies like not just rushdown, but also zoning and keepaway tactics.

  • @NuMrGreen Ofcourse DMC isn't a fighting game. The point being is that in SkullGirls, you can maintain your combos so long as they are varied, repeats allows the opponent to escape. The comparison to DMC comes in to play when you realise that in order to progress in the grade system, you have to vary your combos otherwise repeats won't even garner you a grade. Both game discourages infinite and rewards variation is the point.

  • @KalebParhamGames I completely agree. i really hope this game is like that as well. The skilled and expert players are the ones doing the combos, not just anyone. Im all for creativity, but once combos start and dont end until you die is kind of corny lol. im hoping mike z really makes this game balanced and fun as well as having that competitive edge. but like i said we shouldnt see more than 40 hit combos for a while. it was nice having a actual convo with someone on youtube lol

  • Okay, the black haired chick is REALLY reminding me of Arakune.....from BlazBlue. Some of the moves look like copy-pastas......

  • Why are people so afraid of learning and memorizing combo inputs. That's what make fighting games fun and challenging.

I hate fighting games where combos are ridiculously easy to pull off. *cough* mvc3 *cough*.

Idk for sure these combos are hard, but from the looks of things, it looks like they take some skill

  • @SoHayaku this is my way of thinking, fighting games should give players the freedom to create combos, but should still be balanced enough to not be button mashers. a beginning player should be able to get a 3 hit combo, but a master maybe a 10-12 hit combo. infinites should be discouraged the best way possible.

  • @KalebParhamGames I completely understand, but at the same time i love long combos. Just personal preference i guess. I just dont like games where the longest combo you can do is a 9 hit combo. This game IMO doesnt seem like you can just mash you way to victory. With a 6 button lay-out that seems pretty hard to do. This is because our thinking is different, but i dont see how 30-90 hit combos that use the vast majority of a characters moves are called infinites.

  • @SoHayaku i see where you are coming from, and i hated MvC 3 for that same reason(learn 1 combo, learn 36). i mean, big combos arent bad, but when they are too long, all you can do really is sit there and look. its fun until you get comboed on and you really cant get a fighting chance. but infinites are combos that repeat the same moves over and over again until the player dies (and normally are corner based). if its a 90 hit combo, than normally its a 100% combo, which is way worse

  • @KalebParhamGames but when i see a player do L M H J L M H rinse and repeat that is boring and repetitive. I dont believe these combos can be done in a real match because they require alot of meter. i honestly believe that max combos we will see are about 40 hits. Thats only my speculation tho. I could be wrong

  • @SoHayaku with that being said, combos and juggles arent bad and when you see people who have mastered games like SF or Tekken, its cool to see them combo. even a 20-30 hit combo isnt bad as long as its hardcore enough for players to actually put in work.

  • Vary your attacks? Devil May Cry 3 anyone?

  • @bloodsoldierZ Devil May Cry isn't a fighting game, silly~

  • @NuMrGreen no, but in DMC you gained a better advantage in scores when you mixed up your fighting style, unlike other fighters, you cant infinite in this game, you have to mix it up or else they can end it. This is something that all fighters should have, it makes it more of a chess game, requiring you to strategize and implement everything you have, instead of one combo on repeat

  • The game looks too slow and too combo heavy, shame to waste nice artwork on crap gameplay

  • @valk4life You've pretty much described Street Fighter.

  • @NuMrGreen you mean street fighter 4, because SF2-3 werent that bad, unless you played a SF supernerd

  • @KalebParhamGames Street Fighter isn't a bad game, it just requires a lot of patience and waiting. That's why it's slow. It's personally one of my fav fighters really

  • @NuMrGreen i guess. I play agressively, so i dont have that problem. but yea, when you are fighting an extremely defensive player, it is pretty slow. even MvC series when looked at like that.

  • @valk4life i dont't know about being to slow but combo heavy i can agree with.
