  • Many thanks for posting this interesting historical document. As a clarification, though, the Nazis (National Socialist German Workers' Party) didn't collaborate with the British Union of Fascists on such ventures. This recording is simply a product of Goebbels' Propaganda Ministry. William Joyce - the only possible link with the BUF - was sacked from the BUF in 1937, and BUF members such as Oswald Mosley and Dudley Elam were imprisoned during the war as a security precaution.

  • screw the nazis

    and any american nazi

    go to hell

  • The second speaker is almost certainly Scottish.

  • These recordings are Nazi 'black' propaganda (purporting to be clandestine radio stations broadcasting within Britain) - there was a workers' channel, a Christian peace one, a Scottish nationalist and so on. They aimed to ferment industrial/social unrest; listeners didn't take long to realise these 'British' pirate broadcasts were phoney. 'White' propaganda - to openly chip away at civilian morale - was broadcast by Radio Hamburg, its most notorious voice being Lord Haw Haw

  • All these measures were taken at the time when a German invasion of Great Britain looked highly likely and the aim was to hinder the invading Nazi troops as much as possible. Hitler and his Nazi stormtroopers never had the chance to set foot on British soil apart from that of the Channel Islands. Even the Nazi Luftwaffe airmen failed to defeat the RAF even when they outnumbered the British RAF airmen by four to one. Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

  • During WW2 in Britain BBC news bulletins omitted the names of all towns and cities which had been bombed by the Germans at the time - they simply named the general area of the country in which they were located. For example Liverpool became "a North West port" and London "a city in south east England". In 1940 all road signs showing the names of places, or any other sign indicating the name of a city, town or village, of any kind, was taken down or blacked out, such as on railway stations.

  • This man Lord Haw Haw (William Joyce) was fed information by his secret and undetected spies here in the UK which is why he mentioned facts which were correct about what was happening in the UK such as telling the residents of a certain town in England through his broadcasts that their town hall clock was five minutes slow or that snow was blocking roads all around another named place in this country. During WW2 UK weather forecasts were not issued and weather conditions were not made public.

  • this lord haw haw?

don't sound like 'propaghanda' to me lol

  • Anybody notice the strange noise behind the voice?

  • @mewpsypokes old radio.diodes and capacitors and receptors

  • Sounds alot like the American Left!!!!!

  • @HockeyMetalRPG

Yeah because the american left are always going on about social credit, paper money, and the removal of interest rates so 1930's children in britian wouldn't be running around with any shoes on.

    idiot.

  • This is TRUE. There was no money or new jobs in the Dirty 30's, until WWII came along!
