Yes, You're right, things like that can happen, too, to a collection, thankfully not here so far.
Sorry for Your experience; maybe You can buy back in a certain way as CDs; not the original - but You have the MUSIC.

The cover WAS a piece of art back then.

They weren't thrown away JM.
My bloody ex-wife had them all.
I still freak at the records she had off me.
All original '60s, '70s albums.
I'll stop now, as I'm starting well up...lol
