@PacificTreasureHunt They get so judgemental about it because the person flying and posting the video isn't good at what they do, and wish they were. It's a hard fact, but that's the truth. So people like to point that out to make themselves feel better. But at the end of the day, the sim poster is asking for it. Especially posting a title like "as real as it gets?" come one now. That landing was as realistic as you screwing your hand, fun to do, but horrible to watch!

I am working on my commercial license right now, and a tip of advise. Don't come in so high. you see the lights to the left of the run way. those are PAPI lights. They are there for your glide slope. all white = to high, all red = dead. looking for two white two red indicates your on a 3 degree slope which is perfect. Also sync rate = to fast of a descent, go around and line up better. The approach otherwise was pretty solid. With winds like they where (not realistic), Go w/ less flaps.

Wind is strong but not crosswind if you want 200 knots crosswind set the wind dirrection 90 dagrees to the left or right from heading of runway... you are landing on rwy25 this mean set the wind to blow from 160 dagrees with 200 knots and then try to land with 200 kts crosswind :D haha this is not simulation from real world that you recorder this is ... goofing around

I have a hard time with a 20 knot crosswind! BTW, the graphics are just spectacular! You must also have that thing that tracks your head movement (can't remember the name). I have been SIMing for 20 years, and this is by far the best looking flight sim I have ever seen, and that is no small feat!

What are the specs of the computer you are using. Mine is from 2002 in need of replacement. The visuals are tremendous but the realism factor...is completely fake. That is not your fault but the game. Guys that flight sim...have to remember that is it just a game. Some factors really do give a sense of some of the specifics of flight which is why I also take part in this game. Let me tell you, a maximum cross wind landing in these is 30 knots and that is a handful.

@SuperSuperAllons93 I'm just trying to explain that flight simulator has the limits of a videogame made by software programmers, not aeronautic engineers...200 knots of winds in real life are classified like very strong hurricanes...even having a front wind of 200 knots(without gusts)considering that the average airspeed of an airliner is even much lower in landing configuration the airplane won't even go ahead in relation to the ground it will be rather pushed backwards...

@SuperSuperAllons93 When we make flights with strong winds(25 knots at the ground level are already big values so it means that once the aerotow has taken you at 1000 feet you find already 40-50 knots of frontwind)...in such conditions the sailplane don't even goes ahead if you don't have higher airspeed...sometimes when you try to gain altitude by ridging above the mountains when you put the nose upwind, you can see that you have zero ground speed..

@guitargamery Try to ask this to any real pilot...(read something about meteorology and operating limits of common airliners)...the weather behavior is not so banal in real life...FSX is no more than a game...especially for weather simulation (it is useful for radio navigation,instruments and avionics simulation though)...and by the way I am an Italian glider student pilot (I expect to get my licence within march of 2012) look at my channel ;) nice FSX videos anyway :)

I really do love your videos. For the love of God (or whatever) don't stop making these videos. I might not drop a comment everytime but I do watch. At first for this one I thought hmmm that's a rather poor approach (wasn't paying much attention to anything other than the aircraft) but when I realised you were flying with a wind of 200knots!!! my opinion changed. Now try that wind with a UL airplane. Maybe you can land backwards with a headwind :-)

hmm I know it was hard with such crosswinds and shear ... but u came in too high as u can hear ...and you missed the threshold so the landing spot was lost...also u deviated away from the centerline as I saw in the end...so if I was a real pilot in such AC I wont hesitate to grab the throttle and announce missed approach ... go around and give it another shot...but I have to compliment the quality and the smooth landing...good work ;)
