How did you go about contacting the dancers and explaining the project to them. What where the shoots like? I would love to do something like this with the dance department at my school
only checked this out to see the quality of the camera cause i just bought one but damn you make ballerinas look pretty good. didn't think i was goin to watch the whole thing :/ did you shoot this with everything in normal mode or did you change contrast and other stuff. also what lens did you use?
Beautiful work. I'm jealous of your campus' studios; my university has three or four studios, but they tend to be cluttered with items like props for shows and spare tables.
I have a question: how do you remove the letter box from the video? because it is already on the LCD screen when i start recording, and when i import it into final cut there is a letter box. thanks
yawn, classical ballet is so boring, the last one I saw was Ondine, by Henze, and it was a bit cooler but still boring at times, specially the wedding. Im looking forward to see that Spaniard's choreography of Synaphai...

Not bad except for I'll shot myself if I see AGAIN ballerinas putting on pointe shoes from EXACT THE SAME PERSPECTIVE as 10000 people filmed/photographed it to date
@PaidPal I would like to say that I appreciate the input, but I don't. I guess next time I will try not to capture things from such a pleasant angle that many others before me couldn't help but also notice. I wish you luck in your quest for refinement.
Honestly I don't care what you'll do in the future. If you expect only happy clappy comments, why won't you make a clear statement "ass kissing comments only please"?
@sine0 Thanks! I totally agree, it's surprising to see how much those dancers put into their art - literally dozens of hours a week! It's basically their full-time job. I appreciate your comment!
@chente19 yeah I had three tungsten lights I placed around them in kind of a triangle pattern. Thanks for watching! I really like the camera, and I can't wait to start getting more lenses for it. Have you shot any video with yours yet? Also check out my version of this that I did a little color correction to
I love this video. It made me tear up to see both of your talents at work. It is so beautiful! Both you and Jessi are amazing. I am so proud of you!!
Very cool yo! I set up an account just so I could make a comment for you. :) You did a great job. It was fun to see Jessi doing ballet. I have not been privledged to see her dance yet. You have a gorgeous wife as you already know.
what slider were you using?

Nice film, did you upscale from 720p to be able to shoot in 60fps? Just wondered as its 1080 now, and my 600D will only shoot 50 and 60 fps at 720.

Can I ask what settings you had on your camera. Like shutter speed, aperture, ISO and things like that because I think it looks very good.

@psalt21 No, I have not....! I I need to buy a SD card.
I used to have a XTi, so all my cards are compact flash.
As soon as I get one I'll post one.
